    Hey guys,
I am not looking to make $ on adsense or ppa or amz affiliate programs, I just want my site to rank well in SERPS for my family business.

I've been studying and studying and it seems that the more I learn about SEO the more confusing it gets. One approach leads to another tool which leads to and another approach which leads to another service which leads to another approach etc.etc.etc. until I am surrounded so many seemingly great options, not to mention risks involved if executed poorly, to be able to make a decision and not look back.
    I am paralyzed!

you have all been wonderful in your help, support, and patience with me on this board and I'm not giving up... I just want to know one thing... Can I just subscribe to a bunch of the services listed on BHW and expect to see a good serp result? My page gets an A+ from TTravis. I cannot afford SP or the other awesome programs here, and I am not building a hundred money making sites- I just need one!

With that said, do you think I should just focus on buying backlink services and article writing services instead of building a self-sustained arsenal with the apps mentioned throughout this forum? I really wanted to become a master at BHW but I am just so overwhelmed.

    Your thoughts are appreciated.

    Thanks.

    :)

Part of the reason that you are getting confused is because there are many very good methods to build backlinks as well as many methods that are not really all that effective.

When my Infiniti needed the transmision fluid changed, I read about it online and thought about doing it myself but the whole idea of getting all messy with fluid on my clothes and having some of it leak onto my garage floor led me to just take it to the dealer and have them do the work... essentially outsourced it.

It sounds to me that would be less frustrating for you as well as get you results that you are unable to achieve on your own.

Take a look in the services sections here.. you'll find some real good guys offering some real good services and many of them will help guide you as to what they see as the best way to approach getting your site ranked.

It doesn't mean you are failing, it just means you are outsourcing... getting ranked is what is important to you at this point, not learning the ins and outs of SEO.

Really, you have to decide if you are going to this work yourself or outsource to someone else. If you are feeling overwhelmed then outsource the work and since its your family business keep it white hat and make sure your vendors know this. Nowadays, SEO alone is not enough to spike traffic but you know this already.

I would love to do the work myself but I need just a bit more assistance as to which tools to use. I've heard great things about SB but don't want to get sandboxed. Outsourcing articles and backlinks may also get me sandboxed if I go too fast right?

you are not going to learn unless you experiment and make mistakes. I suggest getting a site just for this purpose.

Avoid risk of sandbox by building a web 2.0 pyramid and spamming them instead of your money site.

I make diagrams of my structure to help with confusion.

BassTrackerBeats service is very good i hear and his advice is invaluable!

Also search around for threads on link pyramids, all you need is right here on BHW

That just clearly show you have been sucked in on all the hype other self-proclaimed gurus out there is saying. Focus on article marketing, do really good articles and spin it and you should get the result you want. But of course, if the niche you're in is rather competitive, you may have to put on a little more effort. Profile linking, Bookmarking and blog commenting should do the trick. :)

I hate these "family biz website" threads with someone who is new at the helm and considering taking some type of mass action.

Take no action directly on your family biz website and dont outsource to anyone who wants to.

the most I would do with that website is have someone who knows what they are doing clean it up for you, put things in the right places and do straight forward white hat seo stuff.

Anything that involves heavy link building, any sort of blast or anything automated should only be done to sites you do not care about and can stand to lose. This cannot be overstated.

Anyone who tells you they are sure of what will happen should they use those techniques on your site, probably doesn't (for the long term) and you certainly don't sound like you do.

One wrong move and your site could drop from existence as far as certain search engines are concerned. Remember that.

Thanks for all your input guys. I would like to keep it "grey hat" to get the best serp as possible without the risk of getting de-indexed. If I get a few more domains related to the niche keyword string and use them as "experiments" would a red-flag come up since they are going to be hosted on the same shared IP?
    MUCHO APPRECIADO AMIGOS!

Once you figure out what you want done (get QUALITY backlinks), find someone with a good REPUTATION (not salespage) and commit a few dollars to it.

A few weeks later, try someone else's service.. and so on until you're ranking for the keywords you want (especially since it's just one site you need work done on). You'll be happy to save yourself a lot of headaches.

Just use BassTrackerBoat's service and find others to outsource to...the more you read the less you "do" and leave money on the table...
