If I'm branding I generally include the brand name then a "|" or "-" break, then proceed with a small description.
In your case however I generally applied the following tactic;
Take four or five similar keywords that I'm trying to rank for, and place in each one with a break like so;
keyword 1 | keyword 2 | keyword 3.

Title Should have some description including keywords if you are talking about article.
