I will share some tips to help your YouTube channel.
These are based on my own experience, through trial and error.
If I am doing something with my channel, it is because it works. I do not waste my time using methods that do not produce results.
  1. Name your video file with your video title before uploading it to YouTube. For example, your camera will call the file 123456.mp4 etc. Rename the video file name to your title; "How To Grow A YouTube Channel In 2021" etc. This will help the algorithm rank your content when uploading it. It cannot read what is inside the video file, so uses the file name (your video title) to identify what kind of content it is, and rank that content in the search results. The correct video file name, matching your video title; will make your content rank higher than a random .mp4 type video file name.
  2. Use 3 hashtag keywords in your video description. Do not load your description with multiple keywords. The algorithm will nullify 15+ keywords so none of them are used; it will be the same as if you didn't use any at all. 3 is the sweet spot for the algorithm to identify similar content, and suggest your content to viewers of similar content.
  3. 10+ minute videos work better for gains than shorts. Reason being longer content is more ad suitable. YouTube can place more ads in a 10+ minute video than a 60 second one. Therefore the algorithm weights longer content higher than shorter content. One 10 minute video will gain more results for your channel than 10 x 60 second shorts.
  4. Stick to a regular upload routine. Do not just upload on random days, at random times. Say you can only make one video per week, every week. Then always upload it Sundays only. Always publish it at exactly the same time 3.00pm etc. Sticking to a fixed day, and fixed time; will maximise your views from subscribers. The same content will gain less views if published on a random day, at a random time.
  5. Massive views, and massive interactions, will make your content rank higher; and therefore be suggested to more viewers; which will make it gain more views. When using panels, don't just buy views only. Buy likes as a well. 1000 views without likes won't work as well as 1000 views, plus 1000 likes. The algorithm weights views with interactions. The interaction can be; a video like, comment, comment like, or changing the video resolution from 1080 to 2160.
  6. Reply to every single comment on your videos. Do not just like, or heart the comments. Replied comments will encourage the viewer to come back again to your channel and view more content. Viewer retention is increased as a result, and content ranked higher, so suggested more, and more views gained.
  7. Comment positively on other channels with similar content. Do not spam their channel with links, this will get you blocked from commenting, and your comments will then be flagged by the algorithm on other channels as spam. Every comment needs to be unique, not copy and pasted; or it will be flagged as spam. Change the comment slightly each time; for example; "Excellent content, enjoyed it. keep up the good work on your channel". "Great video, enjoyed it, keep up the good work on your channel". The channel owner will think it is a genuine comment, so won't flag it as spam. The algorithm also sees it as unique, so won't flag the comment as spam. When viewers see your positive comment, and your username tells them your content is similar; they will click on the username in the comment and check out your channel viewing the content. The key to this is comment as soon as possible after they upload. This maximises the number of viewers that see your fanboy comment, and like it; which encourage more likes; so more clicks on your channel username, thus more views gained to your own content.
  8. Use large, clear, images in your thumbnails. Don't use too much text, too large text, and too many words. The video description identifies the content, not the thumbnail text. Facial reactions with an image work well. Loads of text does not work well. Try to make the image, face, text, a third of the thumbnail each. This is the sweet spot. Questions in the text of the thumbnail work better than statements. For example; "Best smartphone in 2021?" works better than "New 2021 smartphone from brand X" etc. The point is the text should always be a question for the viewer; this makes them click on your content to get that question answered.
  9. Invest in lighting, camera, and microphone. Poor lighting, poor images, poor sound; will kill your views fast. Get these 3 things high quality from day one and your; views, likes, comments, subscribers, will all grow faster. A camera tripod, LED light, lapel mic; are inexpensive from Amazon. Do not start making content until you have invested in these fundamentals.
  10. The typical viewer retention is under 2 minutes; regardless of content type. Do not kill off the first 30 seconds of views using an intro. Get stuck straight into the content from zero seconds, not after a 10-30 second intro etc. Viewer retention is the key to maximising views. An intro with music will kill that retention off.
  11. Target large channels that are making the same kind of content. Comment on every single one of their videos with a positive, unique (not copy and pasted) comment. Do not waste your time commenting on smaller channels. Always focus on the larger channels as they have your target viewers commenting on their content. By commenting on every video, it gets your own channel name exposed to the perfect target viewer. 10 comments is another 10 viewers, 100 comments is another 100 viewers, 1000 comments.... and so on.
  12. Create playlists for your content. Also use the "Community" page on your channel with links and thumbnail images of your upcoming videos. The interactions on your "Community" page are heavily weighted by the algorithm. Every comment, every reply, every like, is all weighted which helps your content move up the rankings, and be suggested to more viewers.

I will add something else that is having very desirable results on my channel.
13. Unboxing videos are very popular content. Strong viewer retention. Good engagement levels. If you have a low budget when starting your channel; use the method I used in the early days. Product reviews from Amazon. Buy an item from Amazon, make the unboxing video and review the product. Then return the item to Amazon for refund credit. Buy another item with the refund credit and so on. This recycles your money, and you will have made 20 unboxing videos for one initial spend; then inevitably Amazon will start flagging your account for the high number of returns.
14. What you now do is list the above 20 items for sale on eBay for sale, as if you still have them. Link to your YouTube video in each of the 20 listings. This is good organic traffic from eBay. The algorithm detects the views are real, not botted; and the high retention will make your content move up the rankings, thus gaining more views as it is suggested to more viewers. List the items for sale for 7 days, then on the final day delete the listings on eBay "Item no longer for sale". Then relist them again one after the other for another 7 days. In order to generate the coding to imbed the YouTube video in your eBay listing you use a "YouTube to eBay converter". See link below.
https://www.isdntek.com/tagbot/YouTubeConverter.htmCopy and paste your YouTube video link into the converter. Then copy and paste the code into your eBay listing. This will generate a thumbnail that eBay bidders can click on and watch your YouTube video directly.
The algorithm will heavily weight these organic views with good retention, as they are coming from an outside source; eBay.
I have been using this eBay to YouTube method for the last 12 months, with very desirable results.
One Amazon purchase recycled 20 times. 20 unboxing videos created. Organic high retention views from 20 eBay listings to your 20 videos. For the price of the eBay listings.

Masterpiece mate. You covered it well :)

Should come in handy will try these for my YT channel

Great info - horrible formatting for reading.
Still good share (will complete my reading in next 4-5 sessions).

Great share mate. As you said consistent upload of videos plays a vital role + commenting and interacting with users help to improve better.

First tip I was not aware that changing name of video file also has effect.

I have received many private messages since I posted my tips.
Therefore I will answer the questions here publicly as the answers will be of use to many.

When did you start your channel?
February 2020. I monetised with AdSense within the first 28 days. 100K verified within 18 months. 167 videos done. Total channel views now in the millions.

How much have you invested in your channel?
5K USD total.

Do you use panels?
Yes, I bought thousands of views, and likes.

What is your channel niche?
Product reviews. I started buying products from Amazon; then making unboxing style product reviews. Then brands started loaning me products for review, so I no longer needed to purchase them to make fresh content. As my channel grew, brand began to pay me a fee to review their loaned products, or alternatively brands gifted me products as payment for review. I sold the gifted products on eBay after.

How do you make money from your channel?
I have 3 revenue streams. I am paid Google AdSense revenue monthly. Brands pay me a fee per product review. Brands also gift me products for review; which I sell on eBay after. The AdSense revenue is small. The main revenue is from brand payments, and the proceeds of eBay sales of the gifted products.

How many videos do you upload per week?
I have made 167 videos since I started my channel February 2020. Currently I am uploading 4 videos Monday to Thursday, and taking Friday-Sunday off.

How do you avoid burn out?
167 videos in 20 months has been a lot of work. I do all the work myself. Unlike many other big channels I do not have a team of; video editor, scriptwriter, videographer, etc. This maximises my profit, but also makes my work load higher; so I have to maintain a work/life balance to avoid burn out. I find 4 daily videos per week, and 3 days off per week, maintains the balance; and avoids burnout. This has meant I have been able to make the 167 videos in 20 months, uploading every week without a week off.

What is the most important thing to be successful on YouTube?
Invest in; lighting, microphone, camera; before starting a channel. High quality; light, sound, picture; will help your channel gain. Poor quality; light, sound, picture, will kill your channel growth fast. An LED softbox, lapel mic, camera tripod; are inexpensive from Amazon. That investment in high quality; light, sound, image, from day one is the key to success.

How many channels do you have?
I started my first channel in 2019. I made 314 videos in a year. Then YouTube terminated the channel. I was pushing the channel gains to the maximum by any means possible. My channel was making very desirable gains, but unfortunately this meant it was flagged by YouTube and terminated.

How did you get over your first channel being terminated by YouTube?
The same day my channel was terminated, I started a new channel; the channel I have now. I learned a hard lesson from my mistakes. With this channel I am making very desirable gains as I learned through trial and error, in those 314 videos what works and what doesn't work. There is nothing wrong with making mistakes; the point is to learn from those mistakes, and not to repeat them.

Do you collaborate with other channels?
No. Collaborations have a positive effect for the smaller channel collaborating with the larger channel; they gain views, and subscribers post collaboration. For a larger channel collaborating has no benefit; other than showing good character as an act of altruism. It looks good for a 100K+ subscriber channel to be helping a 10K subscriber channel. However this doesn't produce; view gain, subscriber gain, revenue gain; for the larger channel.

Do you sell any services to YouTube channels?
No. I have helped smaller channels; giving them the knowledge needed to be successful. Often they follow the advice and then their channels gain. Sometimes they are grateful for that success, and sometimes they aren't. That is just the way it is. I don't ask for payment for my knowledge, although it is sometimes offered.

Why did you choose the product review niche for your channel?
I used to watch a channel that did unboxings, and product reviews. They were, and still are; making impressive gains. By gains I don't just mean subscriber growth, and view growth; I mean revenue gain. I studied their successful method, then copied it and applied it to my own channel. I chose a type of product that interests me, then reviewed that type of product. As stated before, my first channel was 314 videos in a year and was terminated. My current channel has 167 videos in 20 months, and is more successful.

Was there one thing that really helped your channel succeed?
When I started my channel I used to buy products from Amazon to create content. At the 12 month mark I closed a partnership deal with a large dealer of products. I signed a 12 month contract that provides me with 4 products per week, to enable me to create 4 videos per week. This partnership deal gave my channel a revenue stream which is greater than the AdSense revenue my channel generates. It also gave me a revenue stream from selling 4 products per week on eBay.

How do you deal with trolling/negativity/hatred/criticism?
I have 167 videos. Thousands of comments. The comments are mainly positive, however a percentile are trolling/negative/hatred/criticism. I reply to every single positive comment on my channel. If a comment is negative regarding the content, I allow it. If it is a personal insult, I block the user from commenting on my channel permanently. I respond to every comment positively. Positivity breeds positivity. Don't feed a troll and they die. Often the negativity comes from envy, and jealousy. Viewers see ones success, and are envious or jealous of it. They would like to be gifted products by brands, or paid by brands themselves. They would like to make a living from a channel; but do not have the ability to do so. Hence channelling all their energy in life into negativity, rather than doing something positive and making gains in life.

Do you have a day job or other source of income?
No. My channel is my job. I was unemployed when I started my first channel in 2019, and it lost money, rather than breaking even, or making profit. I made 314 videos and then the channel was terminated; so I lost all that work. Yes, the 314 videos generated AdSense revenue; but that was only from the 6-12 month mark. It was only with my current channel that I have been able to make it a job as it went from being loss making, to breaking even, to profit making. I invested 5K USD into my channel; now at the 20 month mark it is giving me a monthly income with consistent profit every month. I work 4 days a week on my channel; 9.00am-5.00pm like a regular office job. I choose to take 3 days off every week to avoid burnout, as making 314 videos in 12 months with my first channel burned me out, and I realised it isn't sustainable to maintain that productivity rate long term without hiring a team to reduce the workload. I still do everything myself, no hired help whatsoever; therefore 4 days per week, every week; is sustainable workload for me long term.

Do you have any plans for the future?
I am always making changes to my method. Every algorithm update creates more problems to overcome. It has taken me 12 months of my first terminated channel to learn the method that works, plus another 20 months of my current channel. 32 months work in total to get it right. Now I have a successful method in place, my future plan is just to continue to produce content at 4 videos per week. I am satisfied with my channel growth, so now I am focussing on revenue growth. Content creators often make the mistake of becoming obsessed with the numbers, and channel analytics. Rather than focussing on the revenue growth. AdSense isn't how channels make serious revenue. The retail of products is how channels make serious revenue. Always remember what YouTube is; a marketing platform that brands use influencers to market their products directly to their target customer.
Therefore a content creators primary focus should be doing deals with brands, not trying to gain more AdSense revenue from massive view gains.

Hi Fox, may I ask you about the playlist method on the kids channel, many people mentioned that but I haven't got a clue about it

Say you have a cartoon channel for children with 100 videos. Putting the content in a playlist encourages the viewer to watch the next video in the list.
YouTube will automatically suggest the next video in the list at the end of the video being viewed.
The typical viewer retention on YouTube is under 2 minutes; regardless of the type of content.
Children's content, such as cartoons work well as they have high viewer retention rates; which moves ones content up the rankings, thus suggests it more to viewers.
For example, and adult won't watch a cartoon for more than 2 minutes. A child will watch the whole 10 minute cartoon, then the next 10 minute cartoon, and son on.
To scale the playlist views to massive levels, multiple channels are used with the same content in their respective lists.
For example, 10, 50, 100, etc, channels all using playlists with the same videos listed.
So now one doesn't just have one channel, with one list suggesting those 100 videos, there are 10-100 channels etc, all suggesting the same content on your channel.
The high viewer retention counteracts the low interaction rate.
Usually with adult content 1000 views need 1000 interactions to weight those views in the algorithm and have a desirable effect.
With 1000 high retention views (10 minutes versus 30 seconds) the algorithm heavily weights the views due to the retention level exceeding the usual under 2 minutes retention.
So to start with you create one playlist on your channel of 100 cartoons.
Then create another channel with a playlist, and another with the playlist, and so on.
The key is to vary the content on each channel, and each playlist.
Do not just clone the mother channel, with identical content, and identical playlists; doing so will flag your content to the algorithm and your channel will be terminated.
For example, you have 100 cartoons on the mother channel, with all 100 in the playlist.
On another channel you pick 10 of the videos, and add them to that channels playlist. Another channel, another 10, and so on.
The other channels need to have different content to the mother channel in order to avoid flagging.
10 new cartoons, then 10, 50, or 100 in that channels playlist from the mother channel.
In simple terms, you are scaling up the views by moving the mother channels content up in the rankings due to higher than normal viewer retention rates.
100 videos with 10 minute retention per video, now gets multiplied by 10, 50, or 100 times via the playlists suggesting the content on the other channels.
Therefore the mother channels 100 videos are suggested more and more as they move up in the rankings with every 10 minute high retention view.

ahha, I grasp your explanation, I see, it seems I require a mammoth amount of channels doing so. Thank you very much

Every comment, every reply, every like, is all weighted which helps your content move up the rankings, and be suggested to more viewers.
good for you, congrats, keep earning and you live happily :)

Thanks for sharing! I knew all of these, but really good for a beginner :)

I only have one channel, and 3 playlists on my channel.
So it is beneficial to use playlists on a single channel.
However to scale the positive effect on views, one needs many other channels with playlists to maximise the benefit.

Nice write! There are very useful tips that we can take from this. Thank you for taking the time to write this article.

And btw what's the panel you use/used for your youtube channel?

hey man, I have a question, so it happens a lot to me my comments disappear... like I post a comment on a video when I come back that comment disappeared like it was deleted...i don't think the uploaders are deleting my comments because I don't see why lots of them would do that... I think maybe Youtube thinks my comments are spam and delete them? but that would be stupid because usually i try to write good comments... do u have any idea why this thing happen to me?

Thank you all for your positive comments. I appreciate your support.
I should explain what my motivation is with this thread.
I learned some useful information from this site. So this is me giving something back to the community.
I am not trying to sell you a product, or service. I am not asking you for payment.
Often scammers will offer a product, or service, in return for money.
However the knowledge or method they are selling is worthless as it doesn't work.
There is some good information on here, but unfortunately due to algorithm updates that becomes outdated.
So the method that works today, may not work in 3, 6, 9, months etc.
Often content creators will see method on here, apply it, and won't understand why it doesn't work for them. Being outdated is why.
I will explain where I get my information from.
Behind many of the larger channels there are strategists.
These strategists have access to YouTube inside information, such as the content of algorithm updates.
They approach large channels and offer to make the channel blow up, in views, and subscribers.
The cut varies, but typically it can be 50% of the channel revenue generated, in return for making it blow up.
It is therefore in the interest of the strategist to make massive gains, so they benefit from the massive revenue gains with their 50% cut.
I do not use a strategist on my channel; however I do chat to some of them.
There is a limit to what they will divulge, as I am not a client; but they do give me some useful information on the algorithm updates.
To give you an idea of how they can make a channel blow up.
I used to watch a channel with 100K subscribers.
Then overnight it blew up, and now has 520K subscribers, and 45M total views.
So I contacted the content creator and asked them straight, how are you making your channel blow up?
They wouldn't tell me, but panicked and CC'd their strategist, rather than BCC'ing them when replying to my email.
So then I Googled the email, and found out who the strategist was behind their channel.
I emailed the strategist and he gave me some useful information.
So that is how I learned what their cut is, and how they work to make channels blow up.
It looks to viewers like the content creator knows how to be successful, but in reality the strategist is the one making it happen.
It isn't as simple as lumping on 100K views, 100K likes, 10K comments, etc, on a video to make it go viral.
The strategist will know exactly how the latest algorithm update is weighting interactions, and retention; then create the perfect content to make it go viral using the algorithm ranking it and suggesting it.
So you see all these services offered on here aren't going to give you the results of a strategist with that insider algorithm update information.
They are paying enormous amounts themselves for that information, hence the massive 50% revenue cut from massive channels to cover it.
I asked the strategist straight, how much do you need to make my channel blow up from 100K to 500K like your clients channel has.
He told me straight it was 50% cut, but my channel isn't big enough to be of interest to him.

And btw what's the panel you use/used for your youtube channel?
I have used several different panels over the years.
Reason being, with the algorithm updates some panels can no longer deliver the services they used to.
I am currently trying a new panel which has very good results.
I won't reveal it here, as doing so will overload their service, which will slow down delivery of my own orders.
Yes, it would benefit you to use the panel; but it would not benefit me as order would take longer to complete.
No offence implied, but my number one priority is my channel, I never do things that aren't beneficial to it.

Comments are deleted for several reasons.
It could be the channel content creator blocking you.
It could be another viewer flagging your comments as spam.
Or it could be the algorithm detecting your comments as spam.
YouTube comments are automated now, rather than being manually reviewed by a human.
Firstly when comments were flagged for spam, a human would manually review the comment, and make a decision; yes/no is it spam.
The algorithm has now machine learned the process, copying the yes/no spam decisions, and applying it to millions of comments per day.
So although your comment may not be spam, it may look like spam to the algorithm and therefore is automatically flagged every comment.
In simple terms, once one comment has been flagged, it means there is more chance your other comments will be.
The more you keep trying to post fresh comments, the more they are flagged, as that is the behaviour of a spammer.
For example, you post comment, it gets deleted. So you try again, and again, and again, in quick succession.
This is comment bot like behaviour that the algorithm is designed to block.
Is there a way round this? No.
