Yes, I have seen people ranking their articles within a hour after uploading.

Make sure your articles are long enough, are of high quality, and target low competition keywords (if yours is not a super high authority website). Before publishing make sure that the new article has at least one outbound and one inbound internal link.
After publishing, submit the link to GSC and request indexation.
This is what I'm doing on a 3-months-old website, no article has taken more than 3 days to index so far.

I mean, I know that authority sites can rank in 1 day, but I assumed you were talking about mere mortals, not about trillionaires like amazon or apple. And I haven't seen any single site belonging to the average Joe ranking in 1 day, that's why I asked

I had to google what "average joe" means and learned another term only a native speaker would use. Thanks.
I have a couple of sites where I can post an article and within 24 hours it's indexed and cached and usually visible in Ahrefs another 24 hours down the line.

Depends on your site... it's easier if it's 1year+ old.
But most importantly, it depends on the keywords you're targeting.
If I post an article and target a low difficulty keyword then it'll end up on page 1 within a day (most of the time, depends on indexing). On the other hand if I target "injury lawyer" I won't rank at all.

I'm not native English speaker (I'm Romanian and Romanians speak a form of Latin), but no problem. I learned the term from native English speakers myself

Yeah, that's not very realistic. Maybe if you already have a high authority domain, but even then, ranking in two days is a challenging task.

Ranking depends on site authority and keyword difficulty. If the article is about trending or viral happenings there is a chance.

To be honest, I don't think it's possible for the average marketer. The higher end of the internet (high DR, 50k backlinks+ websites) it's absolutely possible.
But without a PR budget, OP's question doesn't have a detailed answer.

Also, what kind of ranking are we talking. Low-competition keywords? I'd LIKE to say that's possible with a highly trusted, authoritative website targeting a new, low-comp keyword.
A site like HealthLine targeting something small with ~500 SV.
Otherwise, I want to say it's not realistic.

OP didn't say, but it would obviously have to be a long tail keyword, one with 0 SV even because any other keyword wouldn't rank anyway
