Tips for local seo

What a load of BS. But that's not why I posted. I posted instead to say this:

What If

What if Google had received numerous complaints about illegitimate, spammy listings in it's local search results. What if dozens, hundreds, even thousands of motorists on their way to find a "locksmith in anaheim, california","locksmith in seattle, washington""locksmith in miami, florida" had complained about dozens, hundreds, even thousands of fake, local businesses that were listed high in Google's local search results, to the extent that someone from the Google "spam eradication team" did and investigation in order to discover why these fake businesses were getting such good results and they discovered that these stupid, dishonest "local seo's" were using fake, non-legitimate local directories to distort the search results.

Huh. What if. What if *I* were Google. Well, if *I* were Google, I'd deindex all those fake local directories that are filled with nothing but fake, spammy local listings being sold by and to stupid and dishonest "local seo's" and then I'm make a special rule in the local search algorithm that said that if any business appears more than twice in any of these deindexed (or otherwise red-flagged) directories, they'd receive a -20 penalty in the local search results.

That's what I would do if I were Google. I'd punish businesses that even appeared in these fake, illegitimate local directories that no one in the world ever looks at or uses, whose sole purpose of existence is to get crawled by the robots and alter the local search results. I'd punish those businesses, those that were foolish enough to pay a stupid and dishonest local seo to put their search results in the toilet.

I post this in direct contradiction, and in direct opposition to those stupid and dishonest "local seo's" that do not differentiate between local citations, do not even know what local citations are, do not know the difference between a local citation and a backlink, do not know or care about the fact that some citations are irrelevant and do not know or care about the possibility that getting listed in some bad local directories (otherwise known as "bad neighborhoods") might get your legitimate, profitable local search results put into the toilet. Imagine paying someone $500 a month in order to lose thousands of dollars a month. Outrageous. And stupid.

What if you ant was your uncle, what if.....?

Directories will have no-follow links so no penalties will occur, the blasts will be considered citations instead which are safe and will make your website applicable for Google's local algo.

More stupidity. You don't know jack squat, and are the very kind of scammer I'm talking about. Follow/No Follow, those irrelevant terms went out over 2 years ago. Penalties aren't tied to whether or not a link is follow or no follow either, so there's another big dose of stupidity. Google can penalize your site if you have a wild hair growing out of your taint. Google can penalize a site because it doesn't like fuschia. And "making a website applicable for Google's local algo" is pure retarded babble. And finally, the word "blast" is a holdover from the ancient days when crooked SEOs would throw thousands of spam backlinks at a penis enlargement system website, which might increase the site's position in the SERPs before it got deindexed. Those types of tactics have never worked for Local SEO, and have always got paying customers websites deindexed. I'll Skype my buddy and maybe he'll post in this thread and tell the story about how to well-known "SEO's" ran some blackhat scammy BS blackhat "method" on his local business website and got it deindexed a month after he paid them. They're still in business today, btw, taking advantage of small business people looking to pay someone to provide top of page one results.

I'm not going to argue because I can't tell if you're a 'troll' or not, but I'll clarify on a few points.

Follow/no-follow cannot directly cause penalties, but of course mass link 'blasts' to websites like directories with do-follow could very easily be seen as fabricated by Google and doesn't reflect authentic link growth. Certainly if the link ratio is abnormal.

Local algo is babble? hahaha, Google puts websites in a local context in serps if their webpages show a certain amount of signals which suggest the business is in that area. That's literally how local search works, you're stuck in 2005 if you think otherwise.

Regardless of what 'blast' means to you, its a very general term and doesn't have any fixated definition related to SEO. Calling me out for using that word is hilarious.

Get out of here, you're talking bollocks mate.

Build the good quality do follow links and mention the proper contact details like address city phone number etc.
