I think it's quite important to note, for those that are unaware, that while there is chance of profit in forex, there is also chance of loss.
Forex is an educated gamble, but a gamble non-the-less.
End disclaimer
There are three fundamental differences between gambling and speculating:
1) Gambling creates a risk where there was no previous risk, whereas speculating (for the most part) transfers risk from the hedger to the speculator who assumes it in consideration of potential gain.
2) Gambling serves no social function. No one benefits from the activity but the participants. Speculation provides a mechanism of risk management (per above) and price discovery both of which are indispensable to the functioning of a modern economy.
3) Gambling results are based on mainly random processes. (If you regularly win at blackjack you will probably disagree, but probabilized randomness is still randomness...) Speculation of highly liquid commodities (currencies, softs...) on the other hand is based on an understanding of non-random mathematical patterns that recur in price movement.

forex can be gambling or it can be business. make it a business you will have a greater chance of making money, turn it into a gamble...lets see how long before you get a MC
