Crude oil price chart. If you feel a little frisky and have some money you are fine with just laying out there buying options might make sense to you.

It does to me.

I think we've got further to fall.

With virtually no storage capacity left and the Saudis continuing to ramp up production, we're could end up in a situation where producers are paying people to take delivery (negative prices) - https://www.zerohedge.com/energy/unthinkable-happening-oil-storage-space-about-run-out

I am sure it will fall more but a long position that is 6 - 9 months out makes sense to me and that option will be fairly cheap.

I've not checked the pricing on options yet but will later today as there are no sports on TV at all and I'm not going to watch garbage TV.

I was thinking to invest now in renewable energy, but I have no clue at all about this field.

I'm certain by then the price will be back to 'normal levels' this time next year, but the Saudis are going to squeeze the price as much as possible to tighten their grip on the global market. Their cost of production is less than $10 a barrel, so even with current prices they are still able to flood the market profitably.

If you've got space in your back garden for a few million barrels of crude, I'm sure you could end up buying it for next to nothing!

We did recently buy a small farm up in Georgia so maybe I'll put in some storage tanks... I'm sure my neighbors there would be thrilled and I am sure the county won't have an issue with that.

Funny enough I used to play golf with a guy and a gal who actually played the commodities markets in the grains and would actually take possession of the product. They had deep pockets.

If anyone is in the energy sector (I prefer biotechs myself), look into FRACKING companies. Those will probably go through a LOT of consolidation. The consolidated winner will be in a great position once the economy improves.

Disagree - I don't see any upside momentum

I could be wrong as that is part of the play in commodities but I go by the charts and not by the news as if it is in the news it is already in the price.

But a long term play with options makes sense to me and if I lose I lose... would not be the first time for sure.

It may go down yet more but for sure, according to how I see the charts, it will come back.

This is the time to buy and not end up complaining when the prices rise

What platforms do you guys use to long Oil?
i am wondering the same thing.

what ticker symbol can i look into and research if i wanted to buy in and hold long term? any recommendations? i see more potential gain here than i do risk even if it does not ever return to all time highs it most certainly should go back up

Agree. It probably can go lower however its a good time to invest.
In a medium term 6-9 Months with will be profitable.

The front month US WTI contract just went to minus $37.63, i.e. the US oil producers are paying buyers to take their oil and get rid of it - https://www.zerohedge.com/energy/heres-next-problem-where-do-100-million-oil-barrels-get-delivered

Crazy times! If you've got the storage capacity, you would make a killing over this.

IMO, if you have money to invest, just buy it. Things are going to get normal, sooner or later!
