TikTok SEO is underrated?

agree, i do notice the same thing that a lot of my videos keep getting search traffic weeks after posting, while fyp traffic usually peaks and fades much faster. feels like TikTok SEO is becoming more important now. I'm paying more attention to keywords in captions, on screen text. we still relying on fyp for the initial push, but search seems to be where the long tail views come from bro. gluck

Search is definitely carrying hard now. But you need to realize TikTok scans the video audio transcript too. To maximize this, explicitly say your main keywords within the first three seconds of the video, and use the automated closed captions feature. Combining spoken keywords with a clean, text-heavy thumbnail helps the indexer rank your clip way faster than just stuffing the caption box.

everyone talks about the algorithm but noone talks about TikTok search. I've noticed that videos getting consistent views from search weeks after posting.

Are you optimizing captions, keywords for TikTok SEO, or still relying mostly on the fyp?
Fyp is great for quick exposure, but search can keep bringing views long after the video is posted. Keywords definitely help, Imo.

Everyone forgets playlists and bold text overlays. TikTok searchers click on videos that visually answer their query instantly. Put your main keyword in a high-contrast text box directly on the video screen during the first frame, and add that clip to a dedicated, keyword-optimized TikTok playlist. It doubles your search real estate.

Some videos keep getting views from search weeks later, while FYP views usually come and go quickly. I still focus on the FYP, but adding keywords definitely helps.

yash agree, we have to combine both strategy to maintain our channel

putting your main keyword in the first line of your caption and saying it out loud in the video helps a lot since TikTok transcribes audio.

I think search plays an important role in helping videos grow. I've noticed that more and more people are using TikTok search to discover content.

SEO is currently the most reliable traffic source on TikTok since FYP is unreliable, SEO continues to generate traffic long after you’ve posted.
The smartest strategy is to use a blend caption your videos with keywords and add text on the screen for SEO, while also trying to optimize for FYP at the same time

Shifting your focus to TikTok SEO is an incredibly smart strategy. Instead of relying solely on random suggestions, keyword optimization helps your videos appear in search results and continues to generate a steady stream of passive views for weeks, even leading to higher conversion rates.

Yeah search is definitely where the passive traffic is at now. Everyone is focusing on the audio transcript like @PhantomPharaoh said, which is solid, but don't sleep on comment section SEO. TikTok indexes comments too. If you pin a comment with your secondary keywords or get a few accounts to drop search-friendly questions in the comments, it helps rank the video way faster. Also... check the search bar auto-suggest for your niche on a burner. Those are the exact phrases people actually type in, not what we think they search.

I focus on FYP mostly because it can generate greater reach & views.

I think tiktok search is becoming more important now. I still aim for the FYP, but I also optimize captions and keywords so videos can keep getting views over time.

The auto-suggest tip from @SignalMint is the one most people skip. Those suggestions tell you exactly what's already ranking and what people type, way better than guessing keywords yourself.

One thing i'd add... don't dump every keyword into one video. Pick one main search term per clip and build the whole thing around it, caption, audio, on screen text all matching. Spreading five keywords thin usually ranks you for none of them.

Fyp and search aren't really competing either, a video that does ok on fyp early tends to get indexed and picked up in search faster. So the initial push still matters, it just isnt the whole game anymore.

Use the search bar to find your keywords. Type your main topic into TikTok, look at the auto complete suggestions to see exactly what users are typing, and write those exact terms in your caption.

I think TikTok SEO is still underrated. Optimizing captions, keywords, hashtags, and even the words spoken in videos can help content appear in search results long after it's posted. While trends can give a short-term boost, solid SEO often brings more consistent and long-term visibility.I

Good optimizing caption and keywords can bring your content to fyp. I think TikTok SEO still works well
