Tiered Linkbuilding and Automated Software for SEO in 2013

I feel that SEnuke and GSA links haven't been working lately and may even be causing a drop in rankings to my websites. Anyone seeing success with automated linkbuilding still?

I have had my website drop to page 3 for main keyword, and page 2 for secondary keywords which hasn't happened since Feb 2011. Also, my clients websites have been either stagnant or dropping results to pages 4-9 for keywords that they were previously ranking for.

My linkbuilding methods have been Tiered linkbuilding with Manually created Web 2.0 blogs, social signals (Twitter & Google + posts), 1 Youtube video, and 1 Press Release through PRweb.com. Then I use SEnuke and GSA to create Tier 2 links to the Tier 1s. This method was working great up until rankings started to drop in early June. (Right around Penguin 2.0 in late May).

Has anyone else experienced the same thing? Anyone know if Tiered linkbuilding doesn't work anymore, I Heard that High PR blog posts from Private link networks are whats really working. I also heard that using the Rel=author tag with Google + works alone.

Don't know how exactly you're building your links (if whether they fit in contextually or not, diversity of content format etc), but you should avoid buying social signals (Twitter & Google + posts). Twitter is okay, but Google knows when you try to get fake Google +1's, I've seen my sites immediately drop in rankings after ordering Google +1's. I don't buy social signals anymore; focus on high quality SEO and learn some other forms of marketing (I manage my social media accounts and actually interact with users directing traffic to my website -- this is NATURAL traffic).

Seems like hard work, but honestly, in 2013... you don't work hard, you're not meant to make it.

EDIT: It also seems your tier 1 is limited in platform diversity; you should be building other types of high PR links as well.

You're going to have to keep creating your tier 1's. You need to understand that maybe it isn't that your sites links are getting worse, it could be that other sites links are getting better. It could be that google found more value in your competitions backlink profile and boosted them up post penguin, which in turn pushed you down. Try creating more tier 1's/buying aged and high PR domains to put your links on, etc.

Thanks for the tips and advice directaxcess, I appreciate it. The twitter and Google + posts are done manually but maybe there are to many coming from the same IP?

Also, I don't like using social media marketing because although it can work great for some products/services it doesn't work for all. (personal opinion)

tier1 needs quality, id say 90% of GSA platforms fail for that [not spekaing of text quality itself].

Im seeing the same results as you...

Adding the rel=author tag to all of my content has helped today. My average rankings increase by 6 positions just from doing that.

I know a guy he is using custom software for 2nd and 3rd tiers. That software works good.

It depends on way you use it.. cant really blame on tool.. its just does what u say.. u gotta learn how to use it efficiently

For eg. instead of using scraped articles u can get 10 articles merge them and use in gsa. You will surely see great improvements..

Same results as you, I just ditched it and went to getting high Authority domains, and put links in it, link chain them even.

It's a lot of manual work but hey, works best for me.

Also another thing I do is web 2.0 blogs, then later build scrapebox blasts to them to increase their authority (high authority links ONLY(you gotta check your lists first)).

Lots of manual work but it seems to be working a lot better than wasting time with SENukeX, or at least only use it to diversity anchor texts but that's just it, so don't worry too much about it.
