Hey guys,

Was just curious as to your thoughts on a ".org" domain?

Does this effect rankings whatsoever?

Any pros and cons? Doesnt matter?

Thanks!

Doesn't matter.
If the .com isn't available then the .org is one I'd go for.

Problem is most people will confuse any domain with .com so it can be either an advantage or disadvantage.

Org and com are just looking like the safest one for normal users, if you are going for long run go for it. A different ending doesn't have any impact on seo.

It's the same to Google's eyes. If people remember your domain name, they will try to write it as a .com, though, because that's the standard for regular people.

.org mostly goes for sites without profit. But they are sites that makes money through that as well. And obviously .com is the best.

I have had good experince with the .org domian as far as quick ranking is concern. Although, a .com is all time favorite of all the webmasters and no one would disagree with that.

As well know .com is the most recognizable extension so it should be preferred but if that is not available for you getting .org won't be make much difference.

I have started falling in love with .org domains these days.
90% of the .coms you want are not available and sites don't exist on them as well.

So i always go with the .org in such cases.

When .com is not available the best option I would suggest you to go with .org is the best one to pick . Yes go ahead with .org it’s really good one like .com

I have found that .org sites naturally rank for "organization", so you can search your domain name + organization or org and it seems to show up more (if it's weak in the beginning especially), I've noticed the same thing with .net ranking for domain name + network.
