The idea of the market is to express the value of a product at a given time at a given place. This value doesn't have to be stable at any point, since it 's the result of supply & demand and those factors can wildly change in time.

I agree that it 's a difficult thing to accept due to mass propaganda of the opposite, but value is a human related property. There is no value of an object in itself unrelated to humans. And that 's where this supply & demand thing originates from.

Without going too deep, I just think the world needs a new type of currency for the digital age, and Bitcoin is it IMHO.

After that mtgox scam,some people started shorting bitcoin and lost trust in it.. However, as because of this scam it will rise as people are going to look for regulated exchanges ..

I think the 1,000$ it was momentarily valued at could be its peak, that would take something big to increase the demand for it though and something even bigger to keep it there.

if the silk road comes back and bmr then it will go back up. Don't forget the original use for bitcoins!

At the minute bitcoin is just something mysterious that know one understands but everyone thinks is cool.
And even with that outlook, it's been $1000 +.

if and when people realise its a viable currency, that's when it will skyrocket.

when it's accepted everywhere, that's when it will skyrocket.

if that happens, imagine what price it will reach then!
