Dave please explain....

how I can get my hands on this "Facebook Worm" :D

It's just the like jacking script, not really a biggie... :)

That tab exploit, now there's something you should keep an eye out for!

oh.. i am using software malwarebytes anti malware pro, and it detects 2 bhw ip as malware, but i ignored all warning :p LOL

For all those interested in what Tab napping is without having to google it. Here's a synopsis.

  1. User goes to a malicious, but seemingly innocuous website
  2. User opens up a new tab for other browsing
  3. When the hacker suspects activity on the original page has ceased they substitute phishing page (Gmail, Facebook, online bank)
  4. When the user returns to the tab and doesn't pay attention to the url, they may inadvertently provide account details to the phishing page.
Always keep an eye out on what techniques the scammers use these days so you won't be a victim.

yeah you are right sometimes I really scared to browsing on BHW their are lots of hackers/scammers.

did any one also have some good info abt how to protect ourself from malwares/torjons viruses on BHW plz give us some tips.

1. install linux.

2. switch to linux.

3. use linux.

I was thinking about install Linux on an extra computer I had. I'm decent with computers and theres not really anything specific I want to do yet, just get my toes in the water. What distro do you suggest?

PS: Sorry for the thread hijacking, didn't want to start a whole new thread about it though.

Use either MINT or PCLOS or MEPIS.

The first two are ready to use, right out of the box...:D

FYI, all of the distros are 99% similar. It's the support that you need to watch out for. And KDE is a better choice than GNOME.

That surprised me the first time it happened as well, but it's nothing underhanded going on. This can happen on any thread where someone is sharing a bit of code.

For instance, AVG blocks me from visiting the bhw thread where harro gives the code for the tab exploit. The reason is because even though the code here is only being shared and not actually being used, as far as AVG is concerned it found a reported bit of code so it blocks it.

Another thing that can happen sometimes is if someone that posted in a thread has a link to an image in their reply or sig, if it's linked to some websites it will trigger and alert, or if the website has security it'll popl up a enter password window. That was a weird one the first time it happened as well. lol

Yeah I was thinking of installing this on my other comp. I have heard some good things about it security wise but havent looked into the different operating systems.

Which one are you using?

its very simple, notice u are using AVG, i had the same problem with other site... it quite funny how some AV work sometimes. AVG and i believe some AV does the same. When is about Web Internet Protection they go by what keywords are the sites contentd. BlackHat is pretty much a word that activates awareness and this AV will try to keep you away making u think ull be safer. which it could be true depending on the site.. Same happened to em when i use to go to sites that was Richly spammed with Words Related to Hack.

may your anti virus is infected with a virus? my pc never got infected using bhw:D
