Crystal clear, barto, how is going to control gmail appart from them? They are the owners and they can do whatever they want, because how can you show that they spying on you? By telling a judge that you were punnished in serps for using gmail and letting google know you were blackhatter and wich sites were you owning? ajajajja

Goverments spy on people and it does not matter, just news telling it for 2 or 3 days and nothing else.

Before this whole tweet thing happened, i was trying to buy one of the services. But i somehow left the adblocker disabled for gmail and found relevant ads in there. Nothing new it's been all over the news, but that gave me a 2nd thought that they read every single word. MC don't even need to personally access your account, it's all in the system already. But too bad, i've bought some mns where both of us used gmail, and the content links back to bhw.

And regarding someone's post here that says we used google's product in almost everything, yep. If we want to go against google screwing over our personal things, it's going to be quite challenging. Switch to firefox, use hotmail, and most importantly use bing and yahoo to search. Don't see that happening.

To be quite frank, I fail to understand why anyone would have even considered using one of Google's own products / services while trying to game them. It just doesn't make sense. You are using their servers, you are placing your information on one or more of their servers: YOU ARE GIVING THEM YOUR DATA & DETAILS.
Why would you use Gmail? Why would you use WMT? GA? on BH sites?

Even if you don't use their services why would you leave any possible links to your actual ID in a footprint somewhere that contains your BH work?

I am often dumbfounded how much trust the general public put in publishing their entire private lives on servers they don't own. I have always expected blackhatters to know better, and I'm sure that most of you don't publish the same level of info that Joe-public does, and yet I hear people being shocked or surprised that data they have willingly entered or uploaded to Google is being used for their own gains.

I think the main thing I take from this is just how childish and unprofessional MC is. That is slightly surprising I have to say.

it is not all about google. it is more than an ethical and moral issue. there must be some lines drawn on what to spy and what to consider as personal property which in no way would share with anyone. what if all big names on web has came into a non verbal agreement on data sharing. no once can hide their ass if they ever has used internet. there is no one who has not purchased anything online. your paypal account is connected with your credit card or bank account. your bank account has ur SSN or national ID connected with it. Amazon knows where do u live. it has every things saved on their servers in digital form, from your online digital documents, pictures, your web data etc. facebook knows your behaviors, activities and your connections with other people. twitter knows what mostly u tweet and which trends u follow. ICAN knows what domains you own. it is an oracle, each string connected to other. no matter how intelligently someone try to hide, he cant... a minor resemblance will reveal every single detail of someone.

the point is are we really safe enough to live peacefully in our personal lives without being monitored so closely and are we safe on internet. can we assure ourselves if someone will not use their authority and capacity on not following us...no doubt we are not. there is a saying.. when there are more people to hide someone's secrete, there are more people to reveal it.

Speaking of Chrome and other Google products, for the windows user Start -> computer (right click)-> manage -> Services and Applications -> Services -> Google Update Service (gupdate) -> properties -> disable; and
Start -> computer (right click)-> manage -> Services and Applications -> Services -> Google Update Service (gupdatem) -> properties -> disable.

gorang, interesting thread man. very good share, I don't think this type of thing is talked about enough.

I'm wondering a few things....

-is google freely exchanging data with other massive companies like twitter and facebook in these situations? it could just be like a revolving door where they have departments which offer full cooperation with each other to release spammers information.

-do you think google is somehow getting our mac address? normally you can't get a users mac address but with googles connections who's to say they don't have a deal with flash or java to leave a hidden exploit open that will leak a users mac address. this would allow them to identify all your accounts regardless of IP changing, cookies etc. this would explain how they are able to mass delete your accounts. they could also use this same type of strategy to track you around the web with google analytics.

I think we need to delve into this a bit deeper and find out just how much google is willing to bend the rules to identify us.

Here is what needs to be done in my opinion:
1. Have a separated PC (home server) than the one you use yourself (for personal things etc..)
2. Setup a VPN on the "home server", so it will have a unique IP (different from yours), and no fingerprint from you whatsoever (obviously, don't open your gmail or anything here)
3. Setup virtual machines (VMware) using different OS for your fake identities and use different private proxies on each one of them. 1 VM (virtual machine) for a set of sites (2-3 usually, what can be natural)
4. Open your sites from only inside your appropriate virtual machine, using current private proxy (simulate that the sites are maintained from a fix computer, fix ip etc..)
5. Don't use chrome, don't search your sites from your private pc in google direclty (by their name or anything what is specific), basically you don't want to tell google that you know about those sites

Now, you have two layers of security. You need two, because should the private proxies fail for some reason, your real IP might be revealed, but using an additional layer, your VPN will save you. You won't give any fingerprint this way, because each VM will only work on it's own sites. There will be no correlation between your sites and you, if you apply this correctly. You can control your home server from your normal pc using remote desktop.

Moral of the story....don't antagonize Matt Cutts with outing threads or Tweets and you will be fine. Let's not let this get too out of hand here.
