Brief Background
So I've dabbled in SEO on and off for a good five or six years now. Unfortunately though, for most of which I was battling quite severe anxiety and mental health issues. I had my best success during this period, earning around $5000 from a site I had which had landing pages to CPA offers. That niche is long gone now though unfortunately, so not one I can revisit. I could have made more too, but a combination of naivety (I don't need to do anything, it'll stay at #1....oh hello Penguin...) and my above issues saw it die off pretty quickly.
After that happened, I got down on myself and pretty much gave up and fell out of love with the game. I did briefly try and resume my work last year and was making progress, but other personal issues got in the way and it fell by the way-side again.
The Present
Fast forward a few years and I'm in a really good place. I feel like I'm finally ready to crack this SEO lark and start making some regular money from my websites.
I've been working on a project since late May which is coming along nicely. It's an affiliate site on a brand new domain. I'm currently trying to link up with a website to promote their products but they want to see more traffic first, which is fair enough. If that doesn't come to fruition, it'll be Amazon, so there is a Plan B.
The website is broken up into five 'main' pillar articles, with supporting articles under those. I'm outsourcing 90% of my content.
As you can see, my rankings for my main articles and money keywords are moving up nicely and bouncing around. I'm in the 20's and 30's for a ton of organic keywords too so Google seems to be liking how the website has started.
Off-Page SEO work began at the start of July and I plan to continously build links and drip feed social signals each month. Also working on boosting up my social media pages currently.
Hopefully as the thread title says 'this is the one'! Then I can scale up with more sites. The primary aim is to make this website the absolute authority in my niche. Looking at the top 10 of the money keywords I want to rank for, I think I can do this with time, patience and a healthy mental attitude!
