So today I found a post for vuejs project on haf section.

I replied to it,I know vuejs and have decent experience with this.

So I gave the person skype to contact me.

The majority of my encounters on HAF are similarly disappointing. It's become a pain to find any work there lately so I now avoid users with less than a couple years history on BHW. I also do not bother contacting people that post vague requests. In terms of not posting a budget, most posts there do not specify a budget, although it seems to be moderated more lately.

Babies and trolls - maybe a lovechild of theirs?
Could be called advanced waste of time but OMG.

Huh ok that guy. His HaF thread was missing budget. So, it got deleted. I wouldn't touch those clients even with a stick. :p

I don't think this will ever stop.It is 3rd time now.

What personally helped me over the years is just to deal with Jr. VIPs. You may have less orders in the beginning but you will be working with average, above average and professionals that are most likely to become return customers and hire you long term. Dealing with newbies is just a pain in the ass, additional headache from disputes and scammers.

For Jr. VIPs it would be good to have your own reputation filter (check their posts, past issues, shitlists if any). You only need 10 serious Jr. VIPs and trust me they are around, usually the quiet ones that will bring you only success.

Hopefully that helps.

I so agree with this

This is mostly correct, but let me add the fact that I have had good clients from BHW who were/are not Jr VIPs. Sure, a few of them were not "high budget" ones; but a job is a job; be it for an hour or a month. I think I am pretty lucky to never have been scammed here being a freelancer. :)

It boils down to the communication ultimately. If you feel that it is going nowhere, just avoid then and there.

P.S> I saw the HaF thread in question. It was a red flag from the beginning how he posted the requirement. I am not the best in vueJS but I am not that bad as well. Still I resisted myself from replying there, because it did not look right.

True few members I have dealed in past were yellow members and they are still great people. But Chances of getting scammed is less if you deal with caution.Still got scammed 3times:weep: cuz I have been too liberal.

You are also right, it's just when you are overflown with projects, this is a shortcut. Surely you may miss some of the good guys without a badge and subscription, but saves you a lot of trouble. However, the percentage of fraudsters is much higher when dealing with non Jr. VIPs. So the fair guys eat it all the time because of these.

Be more picky man. That helps a lot.

Nice attempt to publicly shame me but I stand by what I said.
You BOMBARDED me with messages that you’ve conveniently not included on your rant here and then you were hugely rude and started ranting at me (about me having to get back to you within a very contracted timeframe or else you’ll “move on”).
That hardly ingratiated me to your favour so I politely explained I’d not feel comfortable working with you and fhanked
You then continued harassing me on Skype and Telegram, even when I again asked you to leave me alone.
You even tried to lock me out of my wix.com account that I had helpfully shared with you!
After I finally said I’d make a complaint about you bcos your conduct was petty, rude and not professional, you then wrote this lovely attempt to embarrass and undermine me.
Is this really how sellers - let alone vip sellers - are meant to behave? It seems frankly bizarre, scammer-like and very bullying.
For the record this was my first attempt to hire someone for a long time and since there was no obvious means of adding a fixed fee into the request post I omitted the budget. I had no idea that that was wrong and no doubt that was my own fault for not reading everything. What you can’t do is assume that means I’m a scammer (and then try to shame me). It was an innocent mistake
Is this community really so unprofessional, rude and unpleasant that a buyer makes a small error, decides not to work with someone who behaves to her like a stalker, politely explains they’d not be proceeding and then gets locked out of her own wix.com account which you tried to steal from me and is bombarded yet again with messages?? Then, when she says she will make a complaint bcos it’s all highly unacceptable, she is made the subject of lovely posts like this?!
Seriously ??
Who is really the victim here?!?
Read this all back to yourself and ask again if this is how you wish to be viewed to buyers and the general public at large
Shame on YOU
(Btw I will proceed with my complaint about all of the above and I shall add your actions of making this horrible, untrue post to the list of issues I have with you. I’m sure other buyers will love to see how the sellers on here treat them. That’s bound to atttact more confidence and bookings for you all, I’m sure)

Interesting. Two sides to every story, I suppose. I did not see that coming!

OP blurred your name, he did not publicly accost you. I suggest you repost your HAF thread with a budget and follow other rules and try again. If these accusations are true you should post a proper thread in Shit List as that is highly unprofessional behavior, but still this is only one side of the story. There is a forum here for sorting out people trying to rip other people off, use it as intended since this thread will probably get locked or buried.

It does not appear that any money exchanged hands so the only issue is people not coming together on a deal and thus not a SL issue.

But all we see is 10% of the iceberg so perhaps there was a business transaction.

My mistake, sorry I don't even know the rules around here clearly :alien:
