This guy blackmailing me

So when i 1st started my journey i was completely alone, in my beginning one of my fans on facebook asked to join, after many requests i did accept him, i though maybe he really can help me grow somehow or help me with the content posting, anyway the guy was useless & dumb, he can only talk but when it comes to actions he did nothing, until i asked him to be the responsible of the instagram.

Well he created the instagram, but i was not into instagram back then and i just kicked him cause he was disturbing from my main mission and pulling me out of track, now and that i want to extend to instagram, i asked him to give me the instagram back, cause as i noticed (i'm very foreign to instagram) if a business name is taken, that's it, it will belong to the creator, so now he is asking me to buy the instagram from him, and i'll actually do it, so what infos should he give me to get complete ownership of the instagram page ? i want to make sure he wont get it back and blackmail me again.

That was a smart move from your ex-partner. If you are desperate to get that page, You will be needing :

Username
Password
Email used for registration
Email password
Phone number (If the account is phone verified)
Proxy / Proxy location

Once you get these details, change the phone number and password immediately. Also change the registered Email. It will restrict him to regain access to that account and page.
 
If your only concern is the name and not the followers, I would also change the name of the old account, create a new one with the desired name with your own info, email etc. to avoid the risk of him trying to steal the account back from you.

If you do not have access to the original email used when creating the account, he will always be able to get it back.

Sometimes you just need to drop shit and move on.

Like others have already suggested, you will need the username, password, and email address.

Great suggestion.

I was doing Instagram 3-4 years ago, and it never occurred to me up until recently, that you can put periods in a username, maybe it wasn't possible back then. As Zwielicht suggested, you can do it like brandname.domainextension. If you run an e-commerce business, brandname.shop sounds good to me. If your brand name consists of two words, you can separate them with a period. Underscore can be used too. Quite a few ways to tackle this without paying a single penny to the other guy, he can take a hike. You can use 30 characters, which should be more than enough to be creative with your username.

You can even purchase one of the many new gTLDs and redirect it to your existing domain.
Out of these i can imagine any as an instagram business and part of a username:

So the username will fully align with your domain name, if you want to create a matchy-matchy impression.
 
He will always be able to get it back if he has connected a facebook account to it (and this is impossible to check for what i know) and he can email instagram giving all the details and because the account was made on his IP adres he will be able to get it back. I would make a new instagram and change the name a little bit. And start getting familliar with insta.
