    Hey all,

I plan on starting a website for my business, but wish on some input on a good webhost that supports Wordpress. Wordpress is the easiest way to go about making a professional looking website correct?

    Thanks everyone!

To the person that PM'd me, please feel free to post on the thread, I can't seem to read the message because of my under 15 post count.

Hostmonster works well for me, but Hostgator is widely used as well.

Try Hostwinds, very cheap and excellent service. There customer service is excellent as
well if you have a problem so I am told, but I have never used it as i have never had a problem.

    (fingers crossed ;))

Forgot to mention regarding the best choice for your web design.
It all depends on what level your coding skills are you have a variety of choices
Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, HTML 5 and on and on.

Wordpress can be a bugger if your new to it, so read as much as you can beforehand
and practise on a dummy site.
Best Idea would be to get either HTML or Worpress theme and change it to your needs
both are just as good for SEO etc ( IMO). Its just easier in Worpress

    Another plug for hostgator here.

Get one of their plans that allows multiple domains to save you some money when you want more sites :)

If you want cheap and reliable go with hostgator. You really can't go wrong with their baby plan. If you're a CJ affiliate and are signed up to promote hostgator you can get $100 for referring yourself ;)

IPAGE.COM. Buy for the very best customer support. If they cannot get you straight with their 24 hour live customer support, tickets are usually completed within an hour or two. I had HG before and they suck. You really get what you pay for.......

Best support? You gotta be kidding. Among the various hosting companies I tried, iPage has the worst support and the worst speed. Their servers are overloaded, and when you reach their support for help they will do their best to convince you that your problems are a figment of your imagination.

I used to talk to their support and found myself wasting hours on getting past their first line of defense (the chat operators who have no clue) only to meet the second line of defense (the technicians who move no finger).

Moreover, these fellas have a rather interesting way to solve their speed problems. If someone blasts your blog with Scrapebox (or any other tool) they will turn the comments off automatically, without letting you know. You'll find yourself wasting more time with that company than with any other hosting.

If you want hosting go either with Hostgator, or Webintellects - less known on BHW but very good hosting company.

+1 for iPage. Cheap, good customer support, lots of free goodies(G and FB bonuses) for you to advertise your site, wordpress installer, free domain registration, and all that with any time money back guarantee! They've doing some pretty good discounts lately, what makes it even cheaper. It's exactly the same thing as FatCow, but cheaper. There's only a little problem, this is all very good if you're into VDeck, if you only like CPanel hosting, iPage is not the host for you. In that case maybe Hostgator would be a good option, it's more expensive, but from my experience CPanel hosting always is...

It seems we have some pretty different experiences with iPage and it's customer support! At first I had some difficulties using VDeck and they've always been very helpful and clear in the support tickets. No speed problems for me either, but I have to say I don't use iPage that regularly for more than 6 months, maybe the quality of the service dropped in the last months...

Freaking hostgator. How many "which host" threads are there on this forum now?
    Next time use the search.

When I decided to host two of my sites with them, it was because i was convinced they are good. They must have been at some point of time, otherwise I see no reason for the number of good reviews you find across different forums.

However, my personal experience shows that iPage is far from what it probably was. I wasted precious time on their support, and twice more time on SEO, because the websites hosted with them were too slow. And I keep wasting time on keeping track of these websites. Lately I dont even contact their support, just wait till the year is over to switch to something more reliable.
