I got an email from someone selling his old cpa affiliate network.
They're not in business anymore for a few years,
but the name rings a bell.

Is cpa still a good business model?
Imagine you buy this, how would you promote the site
to make it popular again?

Thanks. Any advice welcome.

I would suggest you to go through the CPA section btw what CPA network is it???

Yea Just buy a cpa network do some research about there reputation current standing, publishers mindset regarding that network ,why are they closing there network .YOu need to know all these before you buy that network.

If the owner can't outline how you can get the business running again, you shouldn't consider buying it.

You need to ask some questions to the owner -
1. How many affiliates they have
2. Is there any AM available? Or do you need to recruit a new one. If yes, what qualities should be in an AM?
3. Site is fully working or not? Specially affiliate dashboard and support system.
4. How many offers there are available? How to add new offers?

Good luck.

CPA networks have huge monthly costs for tracking system (hasoffers, cake etc) for fraud protection, hosting costs and more. The owner should inform you about these, cause otherwise, you might be buying only the domain name.

It is a big project. If you are already busy, and happy about the projects you work on, it makes no sense for you to buy the network. Such a CPA network will take a whole lot of your time and funds as well.

On the other hand, it is not true that if he is selling, it might not be profitable. Maybe the original owner was a good technician/SEO guy, but a poor marketer/business person. You, having the other skills, will be able to run it successfully, if the base was done well one day.

How much cash do you have? I wouldn't suggest trying to run a CPA network unless you have at least $50k in free cashflow.

To Run CPA Network , YOu Need 1 Full Time Team of Experts, a Good Big amount of Money in Cash to Invest.(around 50-70k$)..a Very Smart Person to understand Fully about CPA. otherwise you will End before Starting.

Thanks everybody for the great advice.
Really useful tips and insights.

I start to realize that it's not that simple.
At least I know now what I need, to run
this type of business.
It's more than I thought!

I'll ask for more information, specific details.
Now that I know what I need to ask :)

Thanks. I'll keep you guys informed!

Also as it has been dormant for a few years I would be careful if they put a value on their affiliate list. The CPA industry is full of people that only do it for a short time and also switch between networks, so you will probably need to build up a good reputation again, almost from scratch.

Not to mention the user rep of the network (advertisers and publishers) and if they left owing
others (nearly standard practice nowadays). Due diligence.
