OK, part of my promo strategy involves posting video responses, but I am TIRED of having to use trial and error in order to find vids that ALLOW video responses without owner approval - SO, is there any way (API query or regular search or something in settings per vid) that I can do a search/query and find out IN ADVANCE if a video will accept a video response without requiring owner approval.

The default setting for owner uploads is to require approval before posting responses, which is a pain.

ideas from the smart people here?

If your doing video responses, your likely doing it to videos with a lot of views I assume?

If so, the easiest way to do it is just look and see if the video already has video responses. The videos that already have lots of video responses are 99% likely to accept your video response without the owner having to OK it. This is how I used to spot them, not sure if there is another more accurate way though.

Any other methods I can think of will take much longer and will probably not be worth your while.

That's the obvious method.

To my knowledge there is no method of searching for videos that allow video responses without approval.

yes, I *have* been doing that - hoping for a scriptable way tho...

Nah the other way is hack youtube and there is no place on this forum for it.

You can save a list of videos that doesn't require owner's approval. Then when you start responsing go to one of the videos from that list and take videos to respond from "Related" videos. It's because most of the related videos are also the same type as the original video and doesn't require owner's approval. Trust me it works.
