Hey everyone!

This is my first real post in BHW. I am having some issues, need some real advice.

I feel I learned too much about life that I can't succeed in my businesses.

Whatever I do, ethics comes into my way of thinking. For example, if you think about dropshipping, the end user is charged more because of his ignorance/limited knowledge. This doesn't feel right to me.

There's a lot more, for example, all colleges know that not everyone paying them will end up having jobs, or at least a proper ROI. But they continue making money, ripping off poor/rich students.

I dropped out of college and started working as an android dev and then moved on with IM as I couldn't market my apps on the play store.

I have gained enough knowledge from BHW and I am slowing taking action each day.

I end up caring too much for my client that I kind of feel guilty about making money the same way every business make.

So I may become a monk (been thinking this for more than 2 years now). But I have some responsibilities for the next 3 years. So I continue to make money for the next 3 years.

I ask you to suggest me some books, courses to help me through this. Need to change the way I think about money, business and people. Basically, I need to think like you folks think!

So, what happened?

Look at expensive price tag.
Spend money on fashion or something that you're passionate about.

You'll get the motivation to work once you lose/spend money!

The best book

If you think you've "learned too much about life", then you likely have not learned enough yet about life. Typically those who think they are the smartest in the room are the ones with the most to learn.

This being the case, I suggest you read about stoicism. Start with The Ego is the Enemy: https://www.amazon.com/Ego-Enemy-Ryan-Holiday/dp/1591847818.

I have ego issues, maybe I should work on that first. Thanks, everyone for your time, really appreciate it

1st world problems... (playful sarcasm)

But hey, I think I'm somewhat in the same boat right now.

Just some egoistical stuff about me which might also make my further points seem more credible as a result:

I'm not a guy with a degree due to personal motives, but I was able to pass most of the psychology exams in the university without having to study anything extra to what I already knew since I was a kid (there were some inevitable variables concerning subjective aspects of the tests, so that's why I couldn't pass some of them with maximum score). I started studying psychology on my own since I was 14 years old. I remember reading AND taking notes of 1 or 2 psychological books per week for a handful of years till every new research paper/book started to repeat same old ideas (I've been looking into philosophy with a twist of pshychology since then - now this shit is endless, I'm ready to die...).

Here's some stuff to present different perspectives on relatable things to your mindset problem: (THESE ARE SHORT)
  • Youtube: "Does money make you mean? | Paul Piff" - I'd expect youtube suggestions to take you from there.
  • Google: "The Way We're Working Isn't Working | a book - type "popcorn" in the search box. You seem smart enough to connect the dots... Dumb (as in weird) stuff is easier to remember...
(I'll explain a tiny bit of it anyway... Basically, the youtube video mentions one of the psychological behaviours related to your mindset problem and the book demonstrates, although in another field, how we can behave psychologically. So, now that you know those 2 things, since I don't know your context, is there any way to apply this in some way for you?)

If any1 feels like they want to prove me wrong, please, I beg you, dushare, I live to learn.

Basically, money=power. You don't have to have money, money is a variable, but you still need that power to trigger the mind-shifting psychological behaviour, me thinks.

The best book

You are thinking of Robert Cialdini - Not David Chaldini, and yes, he has some good books on the subject. Do a forum search on BHW for Robert Cialdini. You will probably find some of his books in our Member Downloads section or our Copywriting & Sales Persuasion section.

In the light of that one perspective I mentioned, anybody ready for communism?

(communism has problems of different kind that weight just as much though... I wonder if any1 can crack the nut and carry through as well... Too bad I won't live to see that day)

WizEdit: Political discussions/posts are not allowed on Black Hat World, so please refrain from posting them. - Thank You - "Wiz"

It was more of a sarcasm though? Sigh...

I watched the talk, maybe I'll take a few days to read the book you've mentioned.

The problem is getting deep into the things that don't matter a lot. It may matter to you or me or a few groups of like-minded people, but what's cool to me is to live giving as fewer fucks as possible. That's how you live happily on this sick earth.

Nah, no need to read the book. I was more about that popcorn part in particular. Reading the entire book probably wouldn't solve any problems, rather it would create more problems.

In order to give less fucks, it would be beneficial to have an idea how a human works in some aspects. All you'd have to do then is bring yourself to that specific state mentioned earlier (sense of priviledge) and allow the autopilot to take over (+ habit) - you'll effectively not give a damn afterwards. You'd become higher than rules and the sheep that follow them... (Unless of course you run for president and stress under reality checks thrown at you)

This stuff is simply a self-made formula for a theory though... more power = less fucks given.

Invest in yourself. The best way? Knowledge.

Pick up a subscription to Blinkist. They are basically top books from around the world summarized for you in "Blinks".

Topics from business to psychology, sciences etc.

Read 2-3 blinks a day - Strengthen your overall mind and get motivated to work.

Focus on developing your subconscious mind as well, in fact, condition your mind to love what you do. Dr. Joe Dispenza is phenomenal at highlighting the aspects in which we think. Watch him on Youtube..

Good Luck

In my head...

I'd make a profit from friends family or my dog and wouldn't have any trouble sleeping at night. Especially where you can use skills that they dont possess or know about in order to give them a decent ROI without needing to spend time away from their business.

You can have clients that respect what you bring to the table and will be happy to pay you for what you do.
Or
You can have clients who are only interested in maximising profits and are not pleasent to work for.

Either way, charge a fair price and deliver a good service and all is good.

I can't recommend any good books but thought I'd share my thinking.

I thought about it too; but is it allowed to have sex if you are a monk?
