I'm no fan of conspiracy theories.

To me 99% of conspiracy theories are BS. But some of them really happened. People did conspire to do stuff. Like WTC 7 which wasn't hit by an airplane. The JFK assassination. And so on. These are actual conspiracies.

So

I've been reading about the SBF scandal and it just gets weirder and weirder. Initially I thought the conspiracy shit was just partisan bickering.

The more info comes out, the more it seems there really is more to this guy than shows.

For starters. SBF pretends to be childish, naive, silly. But he's not. He bought a $100 million real estate for himself and others around him did too. They knew what they were doing. Those photos of him sleeping in the office were for show only. He slept in a penthouse with a swimming pool and unlimited room service.

Then.... there's this.

WTF????

He claims he has $100k to his name. Then gets out of $250M bail.....

Wait. There's more.

He doesn't have to pay bail yet. As long as he promises to show up in court, the bail payment is suspended. Yes you read that right.

Seriously....have you ever seen anything like this before? A bail that you don't have to pay? AFTER 30 BILLION DOLLARS EVAPORATED????

How does someone get out on bail after $30 BILLION DOLLARS in damages done to random people?

One more thing. He was in a Bahamas jailhouse. Suddenly, he waives his anti-extradition appeal (weird, nobody ever wants to get extradited to USA except SBF). Gets extradited in record time. Then within hours he's a free man....

Ignore the government / anti-government rhetoric from some of the above tweets. Let's focus on facts.

- 30 billion dollars gone
- Guy claims he owns $100k
- Judge sets bail at $250 million
- Guy gets out without paying $250 million
- At first did not want to be extradited to the US
- Then suddenly wants to get extradited
- Goes free hours after setting foot on US soil
- Is allowed full internet access

SBF is basically a free man. I think the only restriction is he can't use fax machines. Or something like that.

Call me crazy. But this case qualifies as a legit conspiracy. There's a lot more to this story than we know.

honestly i think ftx is build to bankrupt, so gov can justify their next action like .harsher policy. taking over crypto venture on the us soil list goes on.
not weird they want to have more control on crypto, like fiat.
well see the bright side as gov have more control and regulation . market will mature faster, than it will stabilize,

The Dude is Bernie Maddoff with hair I had when I was young.

Nothing more than that.

He will, as well as his team, not see the light of day for a very long time.

With the money that he has invested and donated in the press and the multiple donations to politics, he has ensured that he will live well for the rest of his life.

Bernie was a genius
This guy not so much… i feel like there are ppl behind him, not to get political but looks like the left got a lot of “donations” from the guy

Bail is generally provided by a bail bond company who charge a fee that is a fraction of the bail.

As I understand, it's a collateralized bond, his parents put up their house as collateral and the bail company puts up $250m.

You usually have to put up at least 10%.

I had a similiar thought of that too.
FTX was a kind of trojan horse to justify stricter regulations for the crypto space.

there's two tiers to the justice system.
one for the many of us. and another for the few of them.
250m bail...released without having to pay...nutty.

The whole "bailing" system is a complete joke, to anyone who's not American at least.
And the bigger the money - bigger the conspiracy..
You can clearly see how corrupt the system can be for 50B

With WTC it was up to 2 trillion $$$ ( some sources say it's actually 21$ trillion) that went missing.....

Honestly its kind of mind blowing how the big institutions just didnt do any due diligence before investing into ftx

You would think theyre a little more serious

I'd bet we are going to see others tumble as well.

My crypto involvement as to my money is non-existent currently... I gamble there but not today.

Nowadays, the amount of money one has, dictates the amount of freedom one has. Very less money, means very less freedom. Lots of money, means lot of freedom and with lots of money, one can even buy freedom. Nowadays, freedom has a price tag.

This excerpt is from a coindesk articles on the issue:
Bankman-Fried's release was secured by equity in his parents' Palo Alto, California, home, and a long list of requirements was included for him to remain free while he faces charges. He's not allowed to make financial transactions for more than $1,000, can't open new lines of credit, can't leave the house except to exercise and must go through substance-abuse and mental-health treatment, according to the agreement

Is allowed bail suspension if he pays $25 million even though he claimed to only have $100k. So it’s collateral from his parents house he bought them…. using money that he stolen in the first place(?)(!).

Whatever the case, that all sounds like very leniant punishment even if the collateral is kosher - $8 Billion dollar fraud and will get away with being treated like some juvenille credit card fraudster that used stolen cards to buy cigarettes and alcohol.

To put it in to perspective, Bin Ladens bounty never reached higher than $25 million so the seriousnes of $8 Billion as an actual figure in stolen funds is just astonoishing. I would have thought he’d be looking at a life sentence here in a high security prison, not go out for a jog and get back to using the internet and his computer when ever he feels like it as a punishment for ten figure fraud

The bail you are talking about is called a pre-trial bond bail. The whole point of this bail is that you don't pay it if you appear for the trial. This is nothing new, SBF just has the highest pretrial bond in history. For Bernie, it was $5 million, for Elezabeth Holmes it was $500,000.

They have to pay some percent of the $250 million as collateral incase he doesn't appear, and if he does, they get it back.
So SBF's lawyers guarantee that he appears for the trial, and they don't have to pay anything.

Suddenly, he waives his anti-extradition appeal
Read above, dude prolly knows he can't pay $250 million in bail so he guarantees that he appears for the trial. For that he was to waive his anti-extradition appeal.

The judge prolly thought he had some couple hundred million lying around and so he set it as high as he would thinking he would pay for it and not appear.

See that's the thing. Legally rn, they don't recognise that he has "commited any fraud", just that he "allegedly participated in a scheme that defrauded investors".

The court needs to prove that beyond doubt (which, is obvious to all of us that he is guilty) and once that happens. He might face some very serious punishment.
