What do you guys think of the underground hidden web?

I just found out about this a week ago.

If you guys don't already know there are hidden websites that you need to download certain browsers just to explore these sites.

These browsers hide your IP address and make you anonymous.

There are certain websites like the hidden wiki & the silk road where you can basically buy any drug known to man and have it delivered to your address...

There is alot of crazy shit that I found. :eek::eek::eek:

you guys should take a look but just be warned some of that stuff is pretty extreme.

I hope this does not break the lounges post rules.

Yeah I just found it and damn it caught me off guard. I always knew there was a "hidden web" but I did not think it was so easy to access.

and Its still up tho? I think some other people are running it.

I have browsed it like a year ago. There were mercenaries offering there services and stuff like that, SICK.

I was disappointed by it big time...it's just a bunch of shitty looking sites with half of them or more being scams. People advertise stolen and hacked paypal accounts, for example an account with $1000 would be sold for $100, and they tell you how to cash it out etc. Way too good to be true, and there is no way to verify peoples claims as they all accept bitcoin exclusively and other than silkroad theres no feedback systems or escrow. People can just set up a page and sell these "services" and just not fulfill them when people send you the bitcoins (no way to refund transfers).

Half the sites I tried to access also were down which sucks...it takes forever to load pages, and the stuff on it isn't even that special. It's just fun to look at once or twice, but even that isn't that good as it seems like a load of bullshit. One site claims they will track down anyone and kill them, so a full on hitman, for like $10k. The only rule was that the person isn't a top 10 politician, so basically Bill Gates would be accepted? Or maybe I dislike Kanye, let's just send $10k to a random website? Yeah, now you realise how it's just bullshit claims. No way is it possible to just send some bitcoins to someone and in return have them kill someone.

There are other sites like "rent a hacker" which claim to be able to DDos any site or anyone or anything and hack into pretty much anything, for very small prices. Again they have stupid rules where you can DDos a major site, government or media etc. They claim to be able to hack any facebook account and that kind of bullshit.

In my opinion I don't really believe any of the services you can find are legit, but having said that I haven't tried them and don't intend to. If you wanna try it be warned...for all you know it could be the FBI on the other end waiting for you (especially true when you are buying drugs or stolen goods). I couldn't really access any of the warez or file sharing sites so I don't know if there is any good shit on them, but there might be who knows. I'm guessing if someone wanted to leak a movie or something they'd put it on a site hosted in this "deep web" shit

I kind of feel the same way about the FBI waiting on the tail end of the transactions. I was reading a few of their forums and I think some of their hitmen are real, but some of them are not. Either way I think its kind of BS mixed in with some real shit.

On another note
I found a website on the deep where they sell brand new iphone 5s for $300? gonna do some more research on this. Will let you guys know what I find.

Yeah there are loads like that selling any amazon product at 50% discount? It's complete bullshit...if someone was to sell stolen goods, I guess they would do it there so maybe sellers selling just iPhones could be legit, but still it isn't worth risking it as it could just be the FBI again or just a scam. If you have $300 to throw away give it a go if you really want to. I think the sellers are there exploiting the fact that loads of people get on the "deep" web thinking it's all super secretive and exclusive, when it isn't at all...anyone can access it and it isn't even slightly hard to find out about it. The true black market kind of sites I think might exist but they will be truly hidden, and spread around by word of mouth with possible password protection on them, who knows. But like I said before, hitmen taking on ANY target no matter the location is a bit unrealistic.
 
lol, yeah that has been there for a long time. There is a reason those sites are not assessable buy regular searches.

Silk Road: 8 More Suspected Users Arrested in US, UK, Sweden

Authorities in Britain, Sweden, and the United States have arrested eight more people in the wake of the shutdown of the Silk Road, online illegal drug marketplace which helped dealers sell drugs under the cloak of anonymity.

Millions of dollars worth of Bitcoins (E-currency) had been seized and that other online drug dealer should expect a knock on their door by the National Crime Agency.

The other suspects were arrested within hours after the FBI arrested 29-year-old Ross Ulbricht, the suspected creator of Silk Road also known as "Dread Pirate Roberts". Although, he denies charges that he operated the website.

Ulbricht is separately accused in a federal indictment in U.S. District Court in Baltimore with a similar count of narcotics trafficking conspiracy and additional charges of soliciting an $80,000. murder-for-hire of a former Silk Road employee.

A federal judge on Wednesday ordered that Ulbricht charged with operating a notorious online drug marketplace known as the Silk Road to be sent to New York to face charges.

The so-called "hidden site" Silk Road used an online tool known as TOR to mask the location of its servers, that made it difficult for authorities to know who was using the website.

The site generated about $1.2 billion in sales of heroin, cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana and other illegal substances in less than three years, with Silk Road's operators netting $80 million in commissions.

People using the site to buy drugs also used the virtual currency Bitcoin to lessen the chances of being detected. But in its statement, the agency said the arrests sent a message to criminals that the anonymity touted by sites like Silk Road is an illusion. "The Hidden Internet isn't hidden and your anonymous activity isn't anonymous," it said. "We know where you are, what you are doing and we will catch you."

Keith Bristow, director general of the NCA said hidden or anonymous online environments were a key priority for the NCA, which had 4,000 officers and the latest technology at its disposal to tackle the problem.

Using tor it is actually possible to get taught...it's alright for trying to stay hidden but not if you want to be 100% anonymous.
