I think people forget that I started exactly where many of you started - from the bottom - I know its not easy and sometimes things fail -- but when you figure it out - then the money starts to add up. Here are my first earnings from when I joined Amazon :



Anyway like I said - I'm not really interested in supporting this thread - you can read back through it for any answers you need - everything is here -- like me you have to work through any problems you have - and invest back into your business just like I did.

As you can see it took me 6 months to be at $200 a month when I started... with no help and no idea other than me testing things out .. from there I quickly got to $600 a month and then started alot higher --- but the moral to the story is everyone has to start somewhere.

Hi Danny,

Do you still do press releases and distribute them into social networks? I see less SEO value for paid PR's which I experimented in one of my sites...but the traffic from them is pretty constant..

I personally am a big believer in PR - it takes more time than other things and its not as spammed as other things - and when you use paid PR - I think it adds value.

Your exactly right - the results these days are not as powerful as before -- but things change over time - so its how you value them in your Seo Strategy.

Please remember I'm not really interested in supporting the thread .. please check out the thread itself - follow what you want to follow - change what you want to change and hopefully you can build up your earnings to the best of your ability.

Hi Guys,

Question about cloaking or no follow Amazon links....

I setup my site with naked links, just starting to do my first phase of SEO, but realized I didn't cloak or pretty link my Amazon links.
I have 3 links per review, with 6 reviews so far, and just started to add an accessories page which will have about 12-18 products with my affiliate links, about 30-40 Amazon links by the time I'm finished.

The pages are indexed by gooogle already...

Should I go back and cloak the links I have now and others I add in the future?
What is better, using pretty links, or can I just use no-follow plug in?

If yes to go ahead and cloak or no-follow, is there anything I should do about the pages that are already indexed?, in other words, once I fix these links and gooogle re-crawls my pages, will they update their index of my pages or do I have to go into my gooogle manager and do this myself?

A small thing that wont be much for many but may help someone.

Getting started my first two months earnings were $14 and $15. Cashing an international check will cost me more than that
So I have it set to get a gift certificate. When buying something from amazon you can use multiple certificates so can let them build up.
Because you are not being 'paid' you do not pay the US withholding tax (5-30% depending on where you are).
Similarly nice for local taxes (but of course may have customs duty depending what you buy / where you are).
Amazon only ship books to me, so I use MyUS to send from amazon to an address in the US and then on to me (unforuntely they only use the more expensive fedex/dhl to me

Obviously has some flaws and only works if you are happy to be paid in items but works for me

My software currently pulls trends from the Amazon "Movers and Shakers" page for keyword research, etc.

Is this the best page to pull trends from Amazon or do you all think there is another page that would be better?

I have manually made accounts in 6 Web 2.0 blogging sites (top ones like weebly, livejournal, bloglines), made a generic post, waited 1 week then made a post/article with 2 links back to my my site and 1 link to another authority site. I did this on all 6 accounts.
I just now checked to see what backlinks I have going to my site and apparently I have 0!!!!

I checked with Majestic SEO and also Ahefs.
It has been about 2 weeks since posts with my links.

ANY ideas what's going on?

I will tell you in short.Are those backlibks indexed?Probably not,do some fb likes,retweets g +1 on them to get indexed.Also remove the backlinks pointing to your sites so they will be indexed faster.When they are indexed,the insert backlinks to your sites.

Try registering an account with Payoneer so you have a US bank account #, then simply change your payment options in Amazon to this bank account.

Hello, I've a question.
I've just set up my niche website related to certain amazon products, I'll add content during the next few weeks, but I'm not yet an amazon affiliate.
Should I add the content first and then apply for the Amazon Affiliate Program? or vice versa?
I mean, will they accept me if I apply with a website that has no content at all (just design)?

and another question, what about the privacy policy and other amazon rules? how does it work? I know i have to create a Privacy Policy page but what should I write inside.

Hi everyone,

I decided to start a new Amazon thread because I got quite a few people wanting to post their results and get moving again .. so after a break I decided let's get too it.

The first thing I want to say is this thread is for BHW members to figure out how to make money / what to do and to share good and bad experiences -- it is not for BST sellers to come in and spam their Products/Results or whatever else they try to do to promote their services.

If I write something about a service or product in this thread its because I paid for it and it helped me make money ... if you have a similar experience then I welcome you to post what it is and what it did for you to help you make money with Amazon.

This time I welcome anyone to respond to questions / provide better answers than I can or help other members in any way -- rather than me just ramble on all the time.

Lastly what I put into this thread is what makes me money .. it is not the only way to do Amazon and there are many ways to approach this and hopefully this time we can talk about the other methods more.

So jump in and let's discuss Amazon which I view as one of the must join programs on the web today - Amazon is trusted / you get paid - and sometimes you get commission for products you don't even market.

I've read your other thread and I just want to thank you for posting such an informative thread.
I have always been thinking about this and just can't figure out the how's, do's and dont's. I am not
sure if you have mentioned your sites anywhere or will it violate BHW rules? It will really help a lot
if you can for people like me to have a better grasp about this program.

People PM me all the time to look at their Sites - and I try to provide at least some advice to help them -- but I'm doing things now to really up my game .. so I don't want to tie up time here -- when most issues have been discussed at length already .. plus if you search around there are alot more Amazon threads now than when I started my first one.

If you want to see Amazon Site examples - just search some review keywords and you will find plenty of them ... I have had some great PM's where people now seem to realize - that custom sites - nice themes and good organization are essential to get people clicking around their sites - which helps you to get Sales.

Anyways I hope people are finding success over this Xmas period and as your sites age into 2014 .. cheers for now.

you gotta wait 60 days - then you will be paid monthly .. amazon waits to make sure on returns.

the HMA Xmas Sale is on now - you can buy 12 months for $59.99 .. saves you $20-$30 on normal price .. I use this for a bunch of things .. anyway if your interested - now is the time to buy as it doesn't get any cheaper.

OK this will be my last post in this thread .. my online business continues to grow piece by piece and I owe alot of it to figuring out how to develop Amazon Sites and collect that monthly income .. of course its not all Amazon but you know what I mean I'm sure.

With it being Black Friday/CM and XMAS coming up - all those that jumped on board a few months ago should now be seeing some decent Sales and incomes rising ... I hope this encourages you to keep working at it - and find even better ways to expand your own projects.

BHW is such a great resource to all - but at days end - you have to take action and not give up - even during the tough times.

Hi all I am still reading my way through this thread and just thought I would share my niche/product selection thought process if anyone wants to bounce ideas off each other.
So my initial criteria for a niche are the following:

Is there an enthusiast community? ( if yes then it will normally be more difficult to rank competing with enthusiast sites/forums)
so for example I have more difficulty ranking for BMX bikes than leaf blowers. As leaf blower enthusiasts are rare compared to BMX bike enthusiasts/fans. Also I find that quite a lot of enthusiasts will know a lot more about the products than I do and will see through my content as being rubbish(even if I write decent, well researched articles). Whereas the average person looking for a leaf blower probably doesn't know a huge amount about the thing.

If I were looking for [insert product] would I want a review?
This is usually related to price, as high ticket items people will research before they buy, whereas people generally don't research a $5 phone case beyond glancing at the reviews from amazon.

​Are there many accessories?
This is useful for picking up sales and raising your commission percentages, but I won't bail on a potential niche just because it doesn't have many accessories.

Look at the top 5 most popular products in the potential niche on amazon, then check the SERPs for "[product] review"
If I see one or two other amazon affiliate sites on page 1 then I'll check their backlink profiles to see what sort of links are putting them on the first page. If I feel good about being able to outrank them with my newbie SEO skills.

These are just my initial thoughts for a couple of niches that have worked out well for me so far, but I am still a relative newbie when it comes to SEO so I spend much more time researching niches and keywords to make my life easier in the long run.

Hopefully some fellow newcomers can pick up a good niche too.
