Some of the expensive items are not shipped from the Amazon Warehouse - the actual product owner does the shipping - and you get returns/cancellations etc due to this... because it says on backorder / 21 day delivery / 14 day delivery or other white glove options that cost more.

Personally when I shop on Amazon I only buy products that come from the Amazon warehouse - because its reliable and easy to return -- via the other way it sucks... I just went through a return a month ago and took 6 weeks with the merchant rather than 2 days with amazon direct products.

You notice this alot especially when people buy $20 products.

* Shipped from Amazon $19.99 -- spend $25 free shipping
* same product shipped from another vendor $0.99 cents plus $18 shipping

Alot of people go for the slightly less costly one not from Amazon -- and it causes all kinds of issues.

As far as expensive items go - I've not personally seen this type of thing - purchase // limbo // no commission .... as while I don't watch the $20 items as I don't care - I do tend to make sure I get my money on the $1500 + items.

I'm sorry this is all probably not that helpful - but the reporting from Amazon really doesn't give you a whole lot of information... to nail any issues down -- these are just my random thoughts from watching the order/commission cycle.

As far as the other question goes - I really don't want to go and re-hash 2 threads now of information .. I feel like the answers to 99/100 questions are in the threads -- so if your wanting to take this seriously -- then it should not be much to ask for you to do a little homework.

I'm personally fine with the 24 hour cookie -- the 90 day one they have to leave your site and agree to add the product to cart in Amazon.

Yeah I wish the 24 hour one was a bit longer -- but you know - that's just the way it is - so you got to devise your marketing efforts to convert as best you can.

As far as Site Stats go - I just checked the first site that was showing traffic down 9% - its now showing traffic rising again .. like I said these things move around a little during these updates - I don't read anything into that - so will look at at more closely on Sunday and see more what the final result is.

It's not like you can do anything to change the situation in the short term anyway - so you just deal with it at the appropriate time.

Ive recently started using Pinterest, but now another challenge arises. Not getting banned from Amazon for cloaking links, and somehow bypassing Pinterest stripping my Amazon affiliate links..... any suggestions? Went through a couple other threads on here and not sure what the best method would be

I have 50 WP Sites and a bunch of Magento ..... Magento Suck

WP the solid 30 are quite aged - the newer ones are up and down .. I have 50 because I have the 50 package in WP Commander.... $100 each = $5000 a month hopefully over bit more time.


Seo - there is 2 ways I price.

1. Ask them their budget upfront -- then mix and match services to meet their budget - explaining to them it might take longer or shorter to see results based on the budget being too low - and explain to them the difficulty or easiness of the area they are in.

2. Look at how hard keywords are / how much competition is there / how good is the website / are keywords good or not / how much its going to cost me to do the business -- my hourly rate to do the work + any outsourcing/subscriptions necessary / how much they make per sale / how much is adwords for the keywords they are targeting.

then I arrive at a monthly price and give it to them -- never price a project cheap unless you need it for a portfolio - because if you keep the account for a couple of years you can resent doing the work for so cheap .. especially as you charge more for newer clients.

(honestly these days I always ask their budget upfront -- if its too cheap for the keywords/difficulty/amount of work - I pass)

everyone has bills to pay and has to eat.

what is the Adwords price ?
how much do they make per sale?
how many hours per month is it going to take ?
any outsourcing cost ?
how much per hour do you charge for your time ?
how much competition is there / can you get results?

then add it up .. Seems simple to me.

this question maybe has been asked few times, but i need to hear your opinion.
is it save to use url shortener for amazon links? e.g. using bitly (amzn.to).
i've read this thread but not sure which one is the right answer

2nd question: does amazon allow using web2.0 sites? blogger blogs for this case, to show up all amazon content and direct linking to amazon. i heard somewhere that amazon doesn't allow this. is it true?

My opinion in relation to that particular case ::

He is creating hundreds of Blogger Blogs and Spamming His Affiliate Links all over the Web -- this is no brainer ban.

In terms of the topic overall Amazon made it very clear in the email they sent out 6-9 months ago I guess now ....

they expect to see Your Website.com ---> Affiliate Link ---> Amazon

If you do anything to hide the referrer / blank the referrer or the traffic doesn't come from your website -- then your getting banned.

So if you shorten your Website URL and Advertise that on Videos etc - your not going to have problems -- but you shorten an affiliate link and start spamming it everywhere your getting banned.

You can make a Blogger Blog on Wireless Routers - add content / add images links / reviews and stuff like that to promote amazon

But what you can't do is Set Up a Site to try to fake where your getting the traffic from it still has to be

Blogger Blog --> Affiliate Link --> Amazon

HOWEVER : This is not what this Thread is about - We are not creating Blogger Blogs / Redirects / Faking Referrer / Blanking Referrer or any other method which will lead to an account ban.

If you want to discuss that further - then please start a separate thread.

(Also you gotta realize that Amazon when you get banned is just going to quote you the section in their TOS that references this area - whether it applies to what your doing 1% or 100% -- so that's why I really don't want to waste people's time thinking this type of behavior is going to get you anything other than a ban -- and that is most definately not what this thread is about.)

Just looking at traffic stuff

My Oldest Site - has gone -8.7% +14.1 % -5.5 % ... one of the others I posted was up 20% showing a 14% drop now -- so obviously they are still tweaking their changes.

I know some people are probably worried about the ups and downs since they have just a few sites .. but I'm looking at the Long Term Perspective - the changes dump out the crappy sites and the crappy link builders - so just let them finish and get back to work.
