The Ultimate Amazon Thread Mark 2 - Q/A - Good/Bad

After following this thread since it was created, I finally decided to give Amazon a try.

I made $39 (6 sales) this month from one site. I started it less than 28 days ago and only added 1 700word article.

After some weeks I got to position 4 on Google for the 1300 monthly US search term that I targeted. Without any off-page SEO.
I actually just made the site and left it there because I was busy with another project.

It got a bit over 200 UV, 274 amazon clicks (4 converted) and 10 banner clicks (2 converted).

I will try to spend more time on Amazon sites now. I plan to write 5 more articles for this one. And then start working on 3 other domains I bought along with this one that I haven't started working on yet.

I know $36 is very low. But it means since I did this without almost no effort, I can make a lot more if work on this site and get it to position #1.
I'm going to try to make at least $200 from this site this month and $100 each from the other 3 I will make.

Cheers :smileeek:

Great Job ! +5 rep added

Do not write 5 articles for this one. Write at least 20 and you'll have a nice 400$ a month from that site within 2-3 months.

Thanks Guys for Getting involved and adding your experiences and ideas ... I hope more people can contribute as we go along.

Remember BHW is not about take/take/take/take -- sometimes you have to share and receive -- to learn more and make you work more efficiently.

All the best today.

Ha, before I saw your post I wanted to post a little motivation myself. Had a great day yesterday! Sold 5 items for a total of over $800 revenue for Amazon and made over $50 profit yesterday, woot! But here's the kicker, this cracks me up... I am mainly in the health and fitness niche, all my clicks through to amazon yesterday were from my fitness sites. Check out what I sold... Lol...

This is why I LOVE this affiliate program. Nothing I promote is even closely related to this item, and is actually probably considered completely opposite of what I'm promoting. Lol.

Just had to share, not only was it entertaining, but over $200!!! When I saw the description I figured $20 or so, but nope!

There is something uber addicting about checking your amazon stats in the morning, never quite had the itch to check an affiliate stat like this one. So much fun!!!

Get out there, get traffic and let amazon do the work guys!

I have couple sites that's not making money, according to ppls suggestion here I should ditch these sites. but my question is, it really only take $10 $20 per year to keep it running, and my believe is if I just keep my simple seo campaign going, eventually I'll see some sales from these sites. what do you guys think?

Danny is ruthless and he normally cuts his sites if they don't meet his goal. Personally i would prefer to keep a site that makes even worst case $20 a year. I would rather have a site that pays me as a reminder not to go near that niche again.

I've made a very nice (but low) amount from Pinterest using Amazon, but that only lasted for few weeks kinda.
Meanwhile I started with SEO + Amazon instead. Have setup 4 sites past 3 weeks and planning to setup more coming days/weeks.
I plan to have about 20 articles on each site with MINIMAL SEO effort.

I have GSA & Scrapebox.
As far as SEO goes:

3-5 Web 2.0's (Tier 1) with 2-3 Unique articles
Tier 2: making backlinks with GSA to Tier 1's
And very few Quality backlinks with GSA directly to the money site

(Won't use Scrapebox here)

Amazon is great because most of the sales are not even closely related to the products you promote :D

Thank you Danny1111 and all other members who keep this thread alive with quality :)

I have started like every other person here, but i always get stuck with which keyword to promote. But a very kind hearted guy gave me a keyword that has 700 Local Search per month and with 8 articles am already ranking 1. Although i have not made any sales yet. Am hoping this month. I will see my first amazon sale. (which me luck :D ) and i noticed that am ranking 11th for 2 other related keywords that has 12k and 9k local search/month. Am doing manual seo on this website and I hope to be on the first page for those massive search soon. Between, am using the proreview theme, going to change it to the one recommended by Johnny. (does anyone has first hand experience with the proreview theme?) and i have bought a keyword from a seller here ($19.99) going to keep doing this until i have 5 websites. Thank you Danny1111 and everyone who has been contributing on this thread. And a big thanks to Daddymax for the keyword! (please excuse my errors, English is not my first language)

Hey guys Im trying to get into the amazon game just got my url and hosting for it just legit waiting for the hosting to actually update after i xferred the nameservers. Im really excited to try out amazon marketing.

QUICK question has anyone read azon annihilation its this product off WF and it lookes pretty good to me but Im an amazon noob would anyone else be able to tell me how useful what I learned in there actually is?

I haven't read all of it but it seems pretty good. Most of the things I've read in other ebooks and so there wasn't the need for me to read everything, but if you're noob It will pretty much explain everything you need to know to get started. I believe it has some sample review and info type articles as well.

Btw its in the download section if anyone needs.

The funniest thing happened to me. Some guy bought 100 x office phone (yes, 100 units). I was like what.... Then the next day all the ordered items delivered. Ok, it wasn't a mis-click after all. Such a shame it's only 4% commission.

Hello Guys,

Thanks a lot for sharing...
I have launched an affiliate website a few months back and got super busy preparing for an exam that's now over! I can finally get back to my website :)

I have made a little over 14 dollars using this website and I am getting an average of 20-25 visits every day.

i have a question for people earning around $100 to $200, how many visits are you getting per day ?

thanks again.

It really depends the niche you are in and the conversion rate of your site.

thanks :) i am also curious about why people are secretive about what niches they are working on ? is it that difficult to browse amazon and find niches ?
maybe people are afraid of competition, but then again, looking at how many affiliate website / niche, people are competing against each other without even knowing it... weird!

Maybe you can find lots of affiliate website out there, but can you really know which one really brings the money?

If somebody tell his niche which prove to bring money, then I believe his competition will increase drastically.
If it is me, I never want that happen.

I never keep Sites that don't perform - my management tools only support a certain number of sites - so they must meet some minimum to stay - also why waste seo money on something making peanuts ... like I said if this was a hobby then maybe you would keep them for testing - but being a business - I gotta make money bottom line.

Got a Site Doing Well ? Add more content and products if possible try to get as much out of it as possible while its hot.

After a while - you will figure out what sort of products you need on a site .. whether to focus on large items or small items to lift your commission % -- I leave this up to you to figure out

My operation is larger than most and I sell a lot of accessories - because when you buy expensive items you need all kinds of things to go with it -- both now and in the future so people often research these.

I can't possibly provide every scenario or every answer - all I can do is layout what works this way -- then you will have to adapt as you go along.
