The Ultimate Amazon Thread Mark 2 - Q/A - Good/Bad

I'm just gonna chime in here: In my personal experience, outranking sites like toptenreviews.com are difficult. I have been able to outrank sites like amazon or ebay but never once beat toptenreviews.com. Don't know about cnet because they tend to rank mostly for electronics stuff, which I don't target. You can take a shot at it but the chance is it will take a lot of effort to outrank them. I would pick another keyword.

Danny what are your thoughts on outranking toptenreviews.com and cnet.com?Hard?Duing some new KR and came up on these as a competition, but are not optimized for the keyword.

Use tools like seomoz to check the PA of those inner pages of the big ones. It's a game about authority, if you can build your authority higher than their's, you can outrank them

I like to keep track of the LMS data, and for each of the articles i do, i track that data. This way i can see how well i can rank for certain semi longtails, and identify my strengths and weakness, and which articles i should revise for domination.

Thanks for the info, one more thing to ask.And how is outranking a youtube video with 966 backlinks? That is a lot of backlinks to make, and i never personally compete with a yt video with that much backlinks.Other than that, other competition seems very week.( http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/black-hat-seo/567233-youtube-video-hard-outrank.html ).

Are there any cheaper alternative to seomoz? They are expensive to me, i am using MS to analyze the competition.

SEOMOZ OpenSiteExplorer can be used for free though you are limited to the number of searches per day. You can also check competition by looking at the strength of the backlinks going to the page use a free Ahrefs account and a free MajesticSEO account. Or there is probably a gazillion tools that give you "competitive analysis" but make sure you know what they are doing before trusting them.

Pretty Sweet Day Yesterday - Sold a $1349.99 Product - those Sales and really anything over $500 are what makes this worthwhile... on a daily basis.

Same thing here.

5 items sold..

55$ worth of comission..

That is a good day

you sell $1000 worth of small stuff and $1000 product - and the commissions add up fast ... anyway I hope that more and more people - put it together and start getting a monthly check as that is what it is all about ... cheers.

Also I saw the other thread by Djan. about him getting banned - from what I understand he was using Blogger and a bunch of redirects - and Amazon Banned him ..... I'm sure this is common sense but all I do is go to my account find the product - get the text link - add it to my site as a text link or a button ... so amazon sees the sale as :

www.wirelessrouters.com/best-home-wireless-router .. and a click on the specific router referenced in the article/review

I just no-follow all the links via PlugIn.

(I just made that site up - so don't bother clicking on it - its just an example)

Danny. how about cloaking your link with Pretty lite plugin? is that also a risk?

Dont cloak your links nor use shorteners, I have been banned this week because of this.
Only use the amzn shortener or put the aff link as is, otherwise they'll ban you.
Cheers

Are you sure? I've asked amazon if cloaking is allowed. They replied if they can see the referer, it'll be OK

Hey Guys,

great Thread so far. Helped me a lot.

I have set up an Amazon Store 2 Month back. Did good kw research and ranking very good on google.
But not 1 conversation at all .... :( :(

Can a amazon expert review my site ?? I dont know what i can improve more :(

would be very nice.

Just tested Pretty Link Lite. They do include referrer when sending traffic to Amazon, so it's okay.

As long as what you set up in Pretty Links shows your Site as the Referrer and you have Amazon Links on that Page - then I feel pretty safe in saying you should be fine.

This thread is not about making blogger sites and redirects - that is not a sustainable business .. I included a link to that one Blogger Autoposter so people who had zero money could earn a little bit of money and move onto this - which obviously has way more potential than most things.

Anyone who has been in IM 6 months or more will tell you that using Blogger / Wordpress Basic or these free sites is just not worth it - your much better off with WP / Proper Domain and Hosting.

As for the question above - sounds to me that you have someone else's affiliate links in your site and not your own - you need to change that asap.

Well - I'm earning more per day than you are - not that it means anything other than the fact that they would have checked my Sites long before they checked yours.

It's hard to comment on what you were doing - because it doesn't seem that it's what I'm doing.

Anyway maybe you can start your own thread on Blogger and Amazon and you can discuss what you were doing in that one - as I don't want to get this thread clogged up with this.

Thanks

Amazon don't care about the referer, they told me the visitor have to see he's clicking on an amazon link. So if you use a shortener he won't see it.

Do what you feel safe, I am just warning you guys.

Anyway, I was making around $100+ a day, I think when you reach those amounts they'll find anything BS to ban you and not pay you...
Good luck guys, I will use viglink now to be safe from bans with amazon when earning high commissions.

I can't imagine their logic being that your making so much money that they find a way to ban you. The more money your making the more money they are making. I'm trying to decide if I want to go in and change all my bit. ly links over to amazon links. That would be a long and frustrating project...
