Thanks for this very informational and great thread. There are lot of things to learn just from this thread alone.

I have a question - i have a somewhat big website (around 300 articles) that gets anywhere between 1800-2500 UV a day. The articles are niche related, but mostly informational. By this I mean there are no reviews of products. Would it work if I picked about 5-10 products, write reviews for them and put them on my front page like in those examples of amazon websites you pointed out. The products would be in the 30-50$ range, but items that are replaced and bought very frequently.

Do you recommend having a "amazon associated" logo, and really spell it out that your promoting amazon stuff, or do you just keep the amazon obviousness to a minimum with the "buy it on amazon buttons" ?
 
I cannot answer that question - because I don't have any Sites like that - I never build sites that are not well organized or targeted for a specific purpose.

I just put the Amazon disclaimer at bottom of Page or on a seperate disclaimer page .. I have some logos on the Magento Sites but they sell like crap - so hardly worth mentioning.
 
There are Just Some Questions I can't answer.

* Does 1 Big Site work better than 10 small ones
* Does GSA work better than other tools on these sites
* Can I buy a normal domain name and make a general site
* what is the perfect amount of content
* why can't I rank my site in the niche Im competing in
* why do I not get enough traffic

The reason is I do my Sites one way every time - because I know what works and what doesn't doing it that way - and sometimes I kill sites off because they just don't perform like I want them too. Also I invest as little as possible into a Site until it shows me it can make money.

When you start moving away from my experience whether its with this method / Magento Stores or FSB Sites - or using Facebook to drive traffic for instance - then I am not your guy to answer those type of questions. You will have to ask someone else or do what I did - try and test everything - and figure out what makes the most Sales - then scale.

Buying Seo Tools should be a no brainer for people who are going to take this seriously and in it for the long haul -- plus you can offer some Seo Services to cover their cost.

Anyway I think its a good idea to really treat this like a business - don't fall in love with anything that doesn't make you money - when you see a GoDaddy 99 cent domain sale - pick up your domains - keep your costs low - and do the best you can ... I feel comfortable in saying the money will come as I have made Sales with every Amazon Method I've tried - but this is much safer/long term income and the reason I created these threads -- that first $310 day - was really sweet let me tell you.

Thanks for the answer Danny, but you really got me lost here :) You said in your OP that you use 3 reviews and 5 informational articles on the products you are trying to sell. I'm telling you that I have not 5 but 300 info articles on the subject. They are not some general articles, they all can be connected to the product I'm going to write a review on.

So if for instance I want to sell a weight loss product, I say that I have 300 articles on weight loss.

I'm sorry if I sound stupid, I'm just trying to explain my situation :)

That's what I'm saying I would never make a weight loss site with 300 articles .. I would break it down into much smaller niches ... So with 300 articles I have no idea what the effect would be of adding a few reviews.

I can't answer your question the way you want it answered... Sorry.

Everything I do is aimed at having my site top 3 for the keywords I target .. In your case obviously that's very unlikely to ever happen.
 
So you say your sites are basically micro niche and laser targeted?

I wonder how RedDeezer does it. He says he only has 2 large blogs.

Dude give it a try, if you have a site that is getting good traffic, and you promote products of relevance, then you'll get results that you can work with. Its different from Danny's exact way, but that doesn't mean its any less valuable.

Keep the thread updated, the more interesting twists the better.

Is posting your website in blogs, forums, dofollo directories enough?
What's the best way to get other people to link to your content naturally?

Just an update on my progress with this,

I now have 51 live sites,
half of them have 3+ articles
and 5 of them have 20 articles

Today, i'm just finishing the last few setups, and then i have someone full time who is writing articles for them. They just work through the list adding one post per site, and then starting from the beginning again.

I also order 1-3 articles from fiverr every day, so i get a nice stream of articles coming in too.

No sales yet. But all the sites are getting traffic, some are getting regular click through.
I won't be adding any more sites now, as i have enough variety to learn which ones perform the best and why. Just going to spend the rest of the month now getting the articles for each of the sites upto 20, then move on to something else for a couple of months, and then come back to this once the sales start. (if any!!) lol
 
Something I noticed with all my competition, is that NONE of them have responsive sites, so they will be suffering when mobile users are viewing the site, and clicking back. Make sure your site is responsive, as now that mobile users are the biggest growing segment, they will undoubtedly have an effect on your bounce rate long term.
 
Its what danny and maecenas23 have, and they seem to be rocking it, so i didn't want to try for anything less. Plus i'm used to doing large bulk tasks, so the time i've saved in doing the setups (4 batchs) has been much quicker than a couple of sites here and there. Now that all i'm doing, (starting tommorow) is the articles, it feels like the hardest bit is done, and now its easy just working through each of them adding articles.
 
Would you like me to just list every Sale I make from $3000 down .... in order for you ?? .. LOL

Overall I specialize in the $500-$2000 area - but in some medical niches I sell alot of $150-$200 products as thats what they cost.

I sell the crap in the $10 mark too but its not related to what my sites target - just people buying other stuff as well.

Thats as far as I'm going on this ... there's thousands of products to sell - its not hard.

What I've been doing is starting with several sites build them up with like 30 articles let them sit and start with three more sites.
