The Shopify + Facebook Method FAQ - All Questions Here Please.

Question to someone with woocommerce knowledge. I'm trying to figure out where to put this pixel. I made a page on Wordpress called 'Order Received" and I type a thank you note and published it. Except when I click to view the page, it takes me automatically to the homepage which would not help me if I'm trying to install the pixel.

I'm trying to basically get someone to pay with Paypal and redirect them to a page in which I can have the pixel so its only then when Facebook charges me. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

This is right, it should be put here:
www.xyzstore.com/checkout/order-received

I think it depends on which theme you are using. I am using flatsome, here you only click on theme options/checkout and then under Thank you page scripts you insert the code. If your theme does not support that, you should edit the page "order-received" and put the pixel code there in html

You also do not need to make a separate page. Woocommerce already has this page "order-received". Go to Settings-Checkout and you see the checkout endpoint page. On this page you have to insert the pixel code.

Great method and more interestingly senior members sharing how to improvise this method.

Well, ok if you are selling product for $40-50 then of course you can make profit despite high fb ad cost. But this is not this method, this is just plain ecommerce, normal selling and not free product plus shipping method.
Of course plain selling works, it is not a method, it has been done for decades. If you sell for $40/50/60 and you buy the product for cheap, you will make of course a big profit even with only 25 orders. But if you do the method like it was initially described here, where you make maybe $5 profit ($9.99 shipping minus maybe $3/4/5 product price), then you got $125 profit facing ad cost of $100-150 ....

This thread is called ''The Shopify + Facebook method''. Just saying.

If you can't evolve from ''free'' products as it's saturated right now of course you won't be making any profits.

I did a test by buying something on my site. This is how the process goes:

Checkout > PayPal > Order Received page

Problem is, when I try to edit that page, its actually my Checkout page.

This presents a problem if I put my pixel on that page because someone can just abandon the checkout portion and I still get charged for it.

Does anyone know why it sais i get conversions on facebook but dont actually get any sales?

I used the purchase pixel code, could it possibly be that people abandon there carts ??

Could your code be placed on the wrong page? There was a youtube video explaining very well how where to leave your code. I don't know what you did but, if it was placed correctly, it should only shown as conversion if the sale was successful. Within the code, there's a small number, showing by default 0.00 followed by currency (USD). It might be better if you will just modify that with the exact price paid by your customer and add that code on your Thank You / Confirmation page.

You should not get any conversion unless you get a sale. The pixel will probably be int he wrong place.

Wouldn't too many chargebacks kill my paypal?

Probably but the aim is to try and keey them happy or just refund them if they have any issues before a charge back accures.

So I tried CPC for the first time in my life and this pixel crap was difficult to figure out.

I'd like to get an opinion on this picture:

I know the amount that I tested it with is low but I just want to understand some things before I can actually do a real test.

It says I have 6 conversions, but I haven't had an order yet. I'm guessing that once they go into my checkout page where the pixel is, then Facebook counts that and I get charged? Is this right?

Also, my CPC, seems pretty damn high, no?

Those CPCs are not very high if you are getting sales, let's say you are selling a product or whatever that's $30 with free shipping and you get 50% of that profit then anything under $1 is good really, that brings the profit margin down to $14. Of course something like $0.05 is optimal like others have shown but that's nearly impossible unless you stumble across an insane niche with hardly any competition or you are super optimized. My partner is currently in a new niche and getting $2.30 CPCs but she's making profit so she just rolls with it while she works on other adverts.

Shopify basically has some standard places to place the pixel and they should work, if there is issues with it then Facebook or Shopify need to be contacted. There should be no conversions unless a sale is made. I do know that there is a lot of changes in the pixel code happening soon because Facebook is trying to do some stupid shit like combine the pixel conversion code and the retargeting pixel into one. Stupid fucking idea but they seem to be trying to do it so there could be some conflictions at the moment if they are making some changes or testing. I don;t understand why they need to change something that doesn't need to be changed but anyways when set up right there should only be conversions when there is a sale.

im non us citizen, im from malaysia ,is there any problems in my case, payment method,ip ... sorry for my stupid question

Hey guys. I've got a question. I am non-US person, from Europe. How is it going with it? Next thing, how you optimize your fb ads, and are you promoting only with fb? What with refunds? And what with other price on invoice than on our shop? Next thing, how this "pixel" works? And last thing, how can l contact with you Franklin? I want you to rate my niche. Greetings.

Would this work even if I'm based outside the US?
My main concern is the payment method. I think most of them are for US residents only :/
Thanks!

Okay, I've got my first ad and shop up and running. Waiting to get the ad reviewed. Also bought premium domain name for the shop, not shopify subdomain.

My goal is to make that first sale, to validate my idea. Will keep testing.

BTW, if anyone is on the same goal as me (has everything setup and it's in the advertising process), hit me up with a PM :)

There is a lot of facebook bot around. Make sure whats function you want in a bot. Private message, spamming, group join or others. Being specific will help you , what you want.
Anyone got a good Facebook bot?

Hi, just wondering did you upgrade to business for your paypal account? Currently own a personal account on paypal and when i upgrade it asks all the questions about the business. From Paypal Australia. Cheers

Also, does alliexpress send orders including the receipt in there? Wouldn't it be awkward to see a receipt in there with a cheaper price tag on it?

A good marketing friend of mine pointed me to this thread as he knows I have been doing this exact method for 2 years now over 3 sites.

During this time I have built up a following niche groups on IG, Pinterest and FB. Now these are not followers of my business. They follow the cool niche things we post in each group. Every 7th or 8th post is basically an ad for our brands, but we don't pay for them, because they are our followers.

This exact method is very lucrative and can continue to be for the long run. I want to share some key advice:

- Don't treat this like a churn and burn business model. Build a solid foundation and brand that people will get to know and trust.
- Make connections with the suppliers on Aliexpress and open communication. You can usually negotiate way better deals, get better photos and have them alert you when their stuck is running low or almost out (it happens and if you aren't paying attention you are sending a bunch of refunds).
- Look to eventually move to importing and holding stock or using fulfillment. Your margins will go up significantly. This is useful if you are selling more than $2.00 items.
- Always keep expanding your line. Many items pair nicely with others. This increases your total sales per customer.
- Build social media channels on topics that surround your brand. People are more likely to follow, join, share, like posts about "I love dogs" vs "ABC Dog Collars".

I don't know what others are saying, but if you don't have $200 to split test FB ads then this may not work out for you. $5 a day really isn't enough and you will sit there watching every click and pull the plug to early. Ride it out. And test your own ads, website and funnel. Make sure it's actually working.

peace!

Guys, it's been 18 hours and I havent seen a single sale happen. I have had a few people come like FB my page. I am going to split my campaign budget (approximately $20 a day) between 2-3 campaigns with different targeting settings. Hope to see some conversions today.
