The Shopify + Facebook Method FAQ - All Questions Here Please.

Ok so that means that it makes no sense to do ads for post engagements, right? Because they only do this: post ENGAGEMENTS, which is likes and comments. They are not optimized for clicks to a website or to purchase conversions.

You should be doing clicks to website.... but like i've said before it comes down to testing and a ton of other factors.

When the package is delivered, is there not a receipt on the box or inside the box that shows billing information? Wouldn't want my billing information to show up somewhere.

You ask the manufacturer not to include it

Hey guys, not sure if you have experienced this before. But 6 orders of mine were closed by aliexpress saying:

"We are sorry to inform you that we have to cancel your order for security reasons. To make sure your transaction is secure, please provide us with documentation for further verification. When we receive your documents, we will verify them within 3 business days. If the documents are valid, you can reorder on Aliexpress. We apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience and understanding."

I checked on all of the closed orders to see if there is a claim button to provide documentation but there's none.

I'm assuming something happened to my bank.

I optimized for website conversions, and I got good cpcs across a few different products, but didn't get any sales. For whatever reason, only one guy even attempted checkout, the rest didn't want to go through with it.

I'm testing a different type of product altogether that is much higher margin, higher cost, and trying to see if I can make it. At the moment, the campaign is still young and the cpc is good, but no purchases yet. Wonder if it's the way the store looks or what...

Interesting method. I'm completely new to Facebook ads as well but it's really cool to play with. Here's what I've done so far:

-Split $15 over 3 ads, all very similar, one with a different picture.
-Set up shopify with one product.

I did not make any sales (currently used $10 of the budget), however, I did gain 6 "customers" on Shopify. Meaning I have full name's and emails of people that we're interested enough to go to my site.

I don't think I set up the conversion pixel correctly though, as I don't see any metrics on FB. Is there a way to re-access the code for that? Looking for any tips I can get. What pushes people to make the sale? Am I just in the wrong niche?

Thank you for opening this thread. I am not sure if this was answered before. I went through few pages, didn't find and I gotta run to some place now. The question I have is about the taxes. With e-commerce website, do you have to pay IRS the taxes with the money you make? If yes, how? Is it possible to not pay taxes and make money? Not sounding a greedy bastard, but there are some reasons I wouldn't prefer paying taxes right now.

Thanks.

I have a question, how do people get away with selling trademarked goods. I mean selling stuff like Star wars toys and harry potter related items is illegal right unless you have the right from the owner??
Its one thing me finding a star wars set and selling it in my physical shop, but how can people get away with selling tens and hundreds of goods of trademarked items that they have no agreement with the trademark owner for??

They are 100% illegal. They think they are safe because the goods come from China and are not in their house or storage but that doesn't matter at all. The keypoint in the dropshipping business is that you receive money directly in your paypal account and therefore you are profiting from goods that are trademarked. Most dropshippers who sell those famous harry potter items etc are small fish in a big ocean (for now) but they can easily get banned by Shopify or receive a cease and desist letter from universal or warner bros, just a matter of time.

Finding a decent product that people want and actually makes you some money is not as easy as it appears.

If you are a US citizen, you pay taxes. That's how it works. Look up general information on google if you don't understand how it works. You have to pay self-employment taxes on 1099 MISC income with this method.

In my opinion, taxed money is better than no money.

Thanks, that's what i wanted to know. I am still confused when and how many times it should be filed. I am looking for articles for further info. How do they know if we are making money via ecommerce site if we don't file it and continue with the site? Asking positively. I am just curious.

Thanks again.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Shopify might send it to you themselves? Much like how Amazon does the same thing once you hit a certain amount of profit? Not entirely sure.
