This ad is just an other perfect example that facebook is only a waste of time and money.

This ad is for website conversions. You can see, for almost 400 people reached I paid €1.92, so I paid 0.5 cent (not 0.5€) per impression.
So very cheap. Now what is the problem? The problem is, out of 400 people NOT ONE visitor to website.

Now I can already hear it:

"Your niche/product is bad" .... Ok, please tell me then, why can sellers on aliexpress have 5000-6000 orders within last 14 days with this "bad" product". Why sellers sell this "bad" product one after one A DAY on ebay?

"Target is bad" .... Well, it is a movie related product, but NOT Harry Potter. Target group is fans of the movie. What else? Who else? If fans of the movie do not want to buy, then who? My grandpa??? Wtf.

"Your item is too expensive" .... ok, there is no price stated on the ad. It says with coupon code you get if for FREE and only pay shipping. It does not say how much is shipping (also it isn't really much, I make maybe $5 profit on this). So facebook does not even convert for FREE products, not to mention paid products. This so called traffic "optimized for conversions on your website" is even too lazy to click on the link to check for 2 seconds how much cost this product and to check more pictures and description.

Also, I am sure for 99% that noone is targeting this niche and sure for 100% if someone does, he does not sell THIS product. I really found it by accident on a forum.

So if someone now still wants to tell me facebook ads work, then please FIRST explain to me how the above could even happen with this excellent traffic source facebook ads.

Got an idea, need some feedback.

The most engaged audiences are most of the time those of TV shows, movies and games. What if you find products that relate to the CATEGORY the TV show, movie or game is in. So no nothing that directly links to them, no use of names, logos or images that are trademarked or copyrighted. On your webshop you also never use any words or images that link to them, you just use words like "for true fans only" because the audience you are targeting with your Ads already knows what the product is about.

I'll give an example of the gaming industry. You find a piece of jewelry with a symbol of a "joystick" or something that RELATES to gaming. So it is a generic item that is not trademarked or copyrighted. Via Facebook Ads you can be specific when targeting an audience that likes a particular game. In your Ad copy you use the free+shipping method to get the attention and interaction on the Ad. On your webshop there is nothing but absolutely nothing that says like "Legend of Zelda fans" or "World Of Warcraft fans" or similar because those are all trademarked names. Don't use jewelry like very recognizable swords or items from games those are trademarked as well.

The real power here is the use of Facebook Ads (or Instagram maybe) because you can target a specific audience that likes a specific game, movie or tv show BUT you try to sell them a generic item that's not trademarked. Nothing on your webshop tells visitors that you used Facebook Ads to target a Trademarked Audience via advertising.

What do you guys think?

The fact that people are making money using this method and have a great ROI would suggest that you strongly need to reevaluate your plan of action and perhaps experiment with a new niche.

The fact that people are making money using this method and have a great ROI would suggest that you strongly need to reevaluate your plan of action and perhaps experiment with a new niche.

Who makes money and has a great ROI with FACEBOOK ADS? People may have that maybe with an own Instagram account that has lots of followers in the niche the person is selling, because it is their account they do not have to pay for advertising, so of course ROI is great. But also as you see, e.g. sythix has 1 order for every 100 visitors, so you need 1000 visitors to make a small $50 profit. This is far from being a profitable business.

Also changing niche back and forth, I do not see what is the point of this. If products that are that hot on aliexpress and ebay on facebook do not even convert to VISITS (not to mention sales), then it is not working. As I said, I already got 1000 pe for a tshirt in summer, but zero sales.

I do not understand why people should use this method preferred to selling on ebay. It is quite logic: If a harry potter fan goes to ebay, his intention is to BUY harry potter stuff. But if he opens facebook his intention is NOT to buy Harry Potter stuff, he has no intention to buy ANYTHING at all. He is going there for entertainment, for watching videos, for chatting, for looking on friends pinwalls etc.
And then accidentially he sees an ad for HP stuff, so just only because of this he is not buying, he did not come in a BUYING MOOD to facebook.

Also about targeting on facebook. If you want to sell dog collars, and your target group are people with interest "dog". That does not mean that these are buyers. Just because somebody LIKES dogs or dog-related fan pages, it is not a MUST that he also OWNS a dog. But if he does not OWN a dog, he does not buy a dog collar. Also if he likes a specific dog fan page, it does NOT mean that he MUST OWN a dog. I can also like a fan page for ferrari's but I do not have one.

This "free+shipping" method, you can also sell for $1 plus $9 shipping on ebay, and everyone who comes to your listing is TARGETED. If he does not have a dog or want a collar, then he also does NOT search for it on ebay. If he DOES he is a POTENTIAL BUYER.

I've been reading the last few pages and I can only see you whine endlessly!

You're pissed about making no sales. You're pissed about having to spend on Facebook Ads.
Here's a few possibilities for making no sales -
1. Badly designed store.
2. Bad niche.
3. Badly targeted Ads.
4. Bad shipping rates - The item is enough to bring the audience to your website but the shipping is too high and they exit.

Do I need to go on or you're gonna figure out what's wrong here?

What you can do -

1. Change your niche - There's some people will visit your site for and some people will take out their cards for. There's a difference.
2. Do some smart Facebook Ad Targeting. Here's a video by Frank himself - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QsGMMne8obE
3. Revamp your store.
4. Play around with the shipping rates.
5. Try to upsell your products and lower the shipping rates to $1.99 or just add free shipping. Make your profits by upselling the products.

I have done the method myself(not too much) and didn't get desired results too and I will be redoing it all. The method obviously works. It's basic business.

If you don't have $100 or more set aside for Ads then quit the method and go elsewhere. But do quit whining.

You can also try $0.99 stores with lower shipping around $6.95 so it's not free after all but also not really expensive. It also helps to get a product people think has a high value and they can get cheap via your webshop.

1. Badly designed store. As there are no visits from the ad to my store, the store cannot be the problem
2. Bad niche. A product that sells into thousands on aliexpress and 10-20 on ebay per day cannot be that bad.
3. Badly targeted Ads. I tried broad and specific audience. E.g. for latest ads, movie related product, fans of the movie.
4. Bad shipping rates - The item is enough to bring the audience to your website but the shipping is too high and they exit. This also happened with other products. Only got 2 orders in total from all products. But when decreasing shipping, I make zero profit.

Do I need to go on or you're gonna figure out what's wrong here?

Ok but I already tried lots of niches, and all of them work on aliexpress, ebay, amazon, anywhere but just NOT on facebook. Strange, isn't it.

Thank you for the video. It looks quite good. Will watch when I am back at my pc
3. Revamp your store.
As there are no visits, not really the problem with the store. And it looks really good, it has all the stuff like Privacy Policy, Terms, Newsletter, Chat, good layout etc.
4. Play around with the shipping rates.
I have setup different shipping rates, free, 9.99, 12.99, 14.99, 5.99
5. Try to upsell your products and lower the shipping rates to $1.99 or just add free shipping. Make your profits by upselling the products.
Free shipping is what I am offering on some products.

Already spent about $60 for making $10 profit, so lost $50. If I spend another $40 then I spent $100, making maybe another $10. So lost $80. Not a good business model.

I am not sure if this is basic business, because also if you check out other blogs and forums about facebook ads, the only people being big fans of it are the ones trying you to sell their courses and ebooks. People who just used fb ads personally for getting sales nowhere are too enthusiastic about it.

Wow,I can't even quote your reply. There's just too much.

And something tells me that your niche just isn't too tempting. I mean,it reaches people but just doesn't compel them to buy or visit the store. You need to make then go "WOW! I need to get that". Your ad needs to be perfect. Images, text everything. If I were you,I'd opt out of Mobile Ads and Interstitial Ads. They seem like a waste of money to me. People obviously make more purchases when on desktop and that's cheaper too.

Try to cash in on-going TV shows - The Flash,Arrow,Supergirl. A lot of people are banking on fan merchandise of shows that are currently running. Just yesterday I helped someone set up their site and within an hour he had his first sale.
Spent - Around $1.5
Made - $15.

How you deal with having a couple of items for sell instead of one, when they come from different suppliers?

Yes, I wanted to give a detailled reply.

Hmm well but this is what I do not understand, if it is not too tempted then why ONLY FROM FACEBOOK no sales? Everywhere else this sells more than fine. Well, it is not from a tv show but from a recent movie and I think fans normally would love that because it is something everyone can use, even if you are not a fan you can use this. Personally, I would buy this.
I already took out interstitial ads. But taking out mobile ads, are you sure? From 518 reach, 297 from instagram on mobile and 167 from newsfeed on mobile, nothing from right column desktop and only 26 from desktop newsfeed. This is when set to "website conversions". You think if I turn off mobile I will get any views anymore?

Hmmm he made one sale from $1.5 spent? At current rate, for $1.5 and if set to website conversions, I will get a reach of 3000 people. But as from the 600 current ones nobody goes to website, I think from 3000 it would be the same.
Or did he use post engagements as objective? With PE I got cpc as low as $0.04, and with daily budget $5 I got about 100 engagements. But again 0 clicks.
Maybe his audience is more passionate than mine? But not sure how he could achieve this, because it is really hard. Also if I only use fan pages/groups with many likes, no success.

But if you have any tips on suggested product or audience, it would be more than welcome

Losing money on testing only makes sense when there is a chance to get everything back as soon as you found a working method.
But it does not look like this is going to happen here.

I explained in an earlier reply to you why Facebook is great compared to eBay, but I guess you didn't read that part? How can you expect to succeed when you don't even read the advice given to you?

On Facebook, you are LOOKING FOR IMPULSE BUYERS!!!!! IMPULSE. Let me say it again since you haven't been able to comprehend that, IMPULSE. This is entirely different than eBay buyers and is incredibly profitable. You are trying to advertise to people who have nothing better to do but sit around at home and spend money because they are bored. American people have a knack for buying things that are "free" even though you have to pay to ship. This has been done for decades on live television, by making consumers pay for large amounts of shipping and handling, but giving them a large amount of something to make it feel worth it.

If you spent half the time you spend here complaining, you would already have a profitable niche. When testing items, YOU WILL LOSE MONEY. LOTS OF IT. If everyone made money right away, EVERYONE WOULD DO IT.

If you can't handle that Internet Marketing takes time, practice and MONEY to get a working method going, then maybe you should get a day job, this isn't the place for you.

I said it on the last page. Stop making excuses, no one here cares. Either man up and figure it out by testing and optimizing EVERYTHING or stop wasting your time and money.

what am I doing wrong? i trying twitted ads and i got 1 click from US on my ad and twitter say it cost 1 usd, why so expensive?
on my another campain i got 2 clicks and cost me another 1 usd....
Someone can help me, is my first time spending money on ads

Well, I read that part of course. But I also said that it is difficult, or in my case impossible, to find that IMPULSE buyers. It is also not about that people are not willing to pay for shipping. The problem is that your so-called impulse buyers are too lazy to click on a link. They are NOT too lazy to click a "like" button because I get plenty of likes but too lazy to click on a website link, how ridiculous.

Yes, you will lose money when testing, but as I said a post above, this only makes SENSE if you get all your lost money back plus PROFIT after the method starts working. But I just do not see this happen with this method.

Can you please explain why this is better than ebay, when on ebay the same product I promote sells 10-20 times per day and on facebook nobody even visits the website? Maybe I am too dumb but I do not get this.

No one cares, well, I want to point this out in order for newbies not to throw out their money. It is continually told on this and all other threads how "easy" this method would be, you need just $5 or $10 a day and after that you already get orders blah-blah. This isn't just the case in reality.

If I need to try 10 niches on facebook, and none of them worked, but ALL of them work on ali/amazon/ebay then you still tell me facebook is bettter? Well ....

No one is debating which is better... why are you making this assumption? They could both work. If you think eBay is better than use eBay. I'm just speaking from my own personal experience of reaching 1000% roi with just one product on FB.

Another thing you don't recall me telling you is the fact that you are choosing items people think are "cool" or "cute" so they click like. You need to be finding items people say "I NEED THAT" rather than clicking like. You clearly are ignoring advice being given to you, as I am doing so for a second time right now. ACTUALY READ what people say and ACTUALLY LISTEN. My best products receive less likes/shares than most items I test.

Also, if you are only testing 10 items... you are going to have a bad time. You should be testing much more than 10 items... as # of sales on aliexpress mean nothing for FB. I have profitable items that have 50 sales on aliexpress before I started.

You are limiting yourself by making pointless assumptions. STOP ASSUMING. Act as if you know nothing, list some items (way more than 10) and optimize. If you don't you won't succeed with this.

Well I just don't know what is all the buzz about this method. It does not work for many people if you check out all the threads, it works for a handful of people and most do not get anywhere. 1000% ROI with one product? So this was a PE ad or WC ad? And I suppose you bought the product for $1-2 max? My buying prices are a bit higher than only a $ because I want to deliver quality items. Also I do not use sellers that offer only china air mail, because a. it is too slow and b. tracking is bullshit. I only use sellers with epacket shipping, which is faster and trackable, but it also costs more.
So for me it is not possible to sell for $5 (or for free plus $5 shipping).

More than 10 items, well, everywhere here it looks like you only need 1-3 items like led dog collars, fishing lures, zelda necklace etc and BOOM you have a sale. This just doesn't happen.

Yes the items I offer are cool and cute, but if someone really "needs" them? I also do not think someone really NEEDS a harry potter pendant or a led dog collar. They just buy this because it looks great or they find it useful for their dog.

I finally got one order now for my latest ad, after about 500 impressions. So you need to show your ad to 500 people (targeted ones!) in order to get one order, so now I made $6 profit. But spent $3.90 for ad, so made $2.10 now real profit. After 500 people saw the ad. What kind of "business" is this?

Ok on ebay you also have to pay for "advertising" (for listing your item), but only if it SELLS. and then you get back your fees plus profit because you already calculated this. With ebay you know what you have to pay for a sale. But with fb you know nothing, you might pay $0.01 or you might pay $50 to make a sale.

Noob Question: Firstly, big thanks to Franklin for giving out this method! My question is, how do we build the trust-factor?
I mean, for example, lets say, the visitor loves the discount that we offered on FB and clicks the link, lands on our product page and then checks out the details and says to himself: "ohh, this product is from outside (nation)" and then adds to cart (hopefully) with doubt. Checks-out that there is a need to make payment online, upfront and NO pay at delivery option. Visitor says to himself: " hmm, don't wanna risk my payment details for $2 product" and then abandon the cart. This might be the reason that many of us see products added to card but not payment is proceeded. Any suggestions to build trust on our website among FB visitors?

Sorry, if my inputs are naive..

This isn't a noob question and is very legitimate. I have been curious about the same thing, as my purchase rate is about 2.4% of traffic that reaches my products. A TON of people abandon cart, but that I believe is mostly due to them not liking the price of shipping I have set.

To help increase purchases, I would encourage adding fake reviews on the items or real ones if you believe people will do so. I plan on doing this soon and testing the results. This is the main idea I have other than trying to make your page look as professional as possible.
