The Shopify + Facebook Method FAQ - All Questions Here Please.

if this method isn't working for you please give up and try something else, you literally complain on every thread about traffic sources, products, niches, customers abandoning. Everything seems to be the problem except for you. Do you really think everyone is photoshopping all their earnings stats just to troll you? No, this just works.

This method DOES work, i'm a noob and i'm still making $200 a day without fb ads, from a low converting traffic source.

For fb ads use auto optimise, it will understand what fb users are going to interact with an ad and will send it to more of those people. Check the breakdown for regions ie if new york isn't converting but LA is cut NY from your ad set. Also find where you're getting 1c ppe or website clicks. In the UK I was getting 48c clicks but in some regions in the US I was getting <1c

Well, not to troll me, but just to brag about their "success". It happens on all forums and not only for this method but for nearly every method. E.g. there was this guy with his $1000 a day (not this method) and in his proof, although it was from US account, it showed e.g. "$999,53" instead of "$999.53" .... some people are really ridiculous

Now about other traffic sources, well I do not know, because I did not try them. I do not have IG/PI etc. with large follower base. Also I do not buy shoutouts because they do not work, I found nobody having an account with followers in my niche from whom I could buy a shoutout.

About fb ads, well, from 7 clicks it is not possible to break down anything, also I do not want to spend more money on this ad, because it simply does not work. CPC is too high, CTR is a joke. This is a passionate audience, the product is a novelty, I never saw it on facebook or anywhere else before, I found it just accidentially on aliexpress. Then I checked on ebay, it is not there!!! Not like all the necklaces, collars etc that you can also get for $1 off ebay, it is not sold there. So this is a real novelty. And still absolutely 0 success.

The only ad for another product that brought 2 orders, I have low CPC there, I think about $0.05 for PE. But I suspended it too. It is not profitable. I make $5 profit per order, but I need to spend the whole $5 daily budget to get an order, so $10 profit and $10 spent for ads, nonsense. I have low cpc and many likes, but I need way too much clicks to finally get an order.

You need to check how many sales there are on aliexpess... I'm not selling anything under 3k sales, my most popular items on my store have 10k+ sales on aliexpress. Try different ads or general audience. DO NOT use website clicks as your objective.. idk why it doesn't work but I only get 1-2% ctr on ads with approximately 0.50cpc whereas using website conversions I got 12% ctr and 22% ctr with an average on 0.05cpc.

I've had really bad ads and really good ones, just test it up. With good cpc you should be able to at least make your money back.

Also make sure to create a good brandable site ie make sure you create a logo on photoshop (simple is fine), chuck in a few fake reviews to confirm any insecurities customers might have ie product quality, shipping times etc. Test different features on your site for example using image zoom on my site, I got around 50% less conversions (1% cvr) compared to not having it enabled.

Edit: your profit margin is probably too low... I'm making around $8.5 USD per order

Oh, well, the item does not have that many sales on aliexpress, none of my items has. They have about 3000 sales max. Interesting fact, the only item that I had any success with only has about 300 orders on Aliexpress.
With general audience, you do not reach anyone with $5. This is a big audience, about 10-20 million people. So I did not have any success. Only using smaller targeted audience now. Yes, this fact that it does not work with website clicks, some here recommended this and said that they had so much sales, this simply isn't the truth. For website conversions, I did not try because they charge for impressions and not for clicks then, this really works for you? E.g. if you have 1000 impressions you have to pay for them even if there was no single click from those 1000.

I changed current ad to PE now. I think PE is better because people share and tag too so reach will be higher than only normal ad reach.

I have a nice logo, created by someone from another forum. I will add some reviews. Image zoom I already have enabled. Also I think the problem is not the store, it looks quite good. The problem is that there are barely any visits from the ads.

Profit margin, when you have $8.5 profit I suppose you are using sellers with free china air mail? I do not use this, I ordered plenty of stuff for myself with china air mail, it is terrible, you have to wait for 3+ weeks till it arrives. Next, china air mail tracking number is a joke, never working correctly once it left China. If your buyer disputes on Paypal, and the only thing you have to come up with is this bogus number, then your money already is gone.
ePacket is much faster, and tracking works correctly. But most sellers charge for epacket up to $2.50 .....
Also, do you use free product plus shipping method or product costs XX plus free shipping method? I used both, with product for e.g. $1 or for free and shipping e.g. $10, you only get abandoned carts. With product e.g. $10 and free shipping, got the 2 mentioned orders.
For $8.5 profit, shipped by epacket, I think the product price on aliexpress should not be more than about $3, hard to find a decent product for this price.

Could you share some insight on how you research? Would you recommend browsing Amazon categories for up-and-comers, or looking at popular Aliexpress items etc?

I was just about to pick 10-20 items that I think might do well, but it seems like this is a rather random approach. If there's a better way to do this, I'd love to know.

Lewy2k, if you could chime in on this, I'd appreciate it as well.

It's not that hard to spend a day writing shit down and researching niches. It's also not that hard to start 10 Facebook adverts on a low budget and find the winners. I'll say it again to anyone who doesn't get conversions. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE NICHE. It doesn't matter how much engagement or clicks you get on the FB adverts is the niche is shit you are just wasting money.

Another problem is the newbies expect to just cream it and not spend any money... you will spend money and lose money with this just like any other method... do it right and you will make that money back 10 fold.

just to check. Do you guys have a general ecommerce selling lots of different stuffs, or a niche ecommerce. e.g. lightbulbs.com vs houseproducts.com

Are you guys selling trademarked stuff? Most popular niches are around trademarked stuff. Not really sure how you guys deal with that because selling trademarked stuff for quick money sounds like a bad idea if warner bros or universal finds out...

Example : selling a harry potter necklace that refers to a popular scene of the movie is 100% illegal if it just comes from Aliexpress.

I have tons of experience with eBay and Amazon arbitrage, so I feel item selection has been something I have learned from 4+ years of experience. Personally with this method, I use a random item approach along with items related to hobbies I personally enjoy. That way, you can easily create an ad that you feel like you yourself would click on. If your post doesn't look like you would personally be interested, you're doing it wrong. Once you get a sale or two, create a bunch of different ad sets and optimize for gender/age/interests and go from there.

Have you tried what others have suggested and reevaluated your niches? It seems like you're more or less just saying "see, I told you this method doesn't work." I'm just jumping in now, but I'm pretty sure that's not true.

Well, of course I tried to change some things. About my niche, it is pet niche but NOT led collars or something else that someone else is selling.
I am also not just saying "I told you it does not work", I say "ALTHOUGH others always say it does work, it does not".

I do not get any visitors from the ad, so the problem is NOT the store, so nothing that could be changed there. About the ad, well, CPC $0.03 and CR 21.4%, I do not see much to improve here. This is already more than targeted. Also if I had CPC $0.01 and CR 30%, it would not work. Also I have 70 PE now, and from 70 people that are obviously interested in the product, not one is going to check it out. The ad says the item is free, you only pay for S&H. So fb traffic does not even convert with FREE products. Because the item is light-weighted, so nobody would assume S&H is so high that it is not worth to check out the website. If I had a dog I would definitely buy this, because it at first looks great, 2nd it is very useful for the dog, just like led collar, but something completely different.

If someone now says the ad should be for website clicks/conversions and not for PE, well, as soon as I switch to WC it will happen what always happens. CPC will go up to 0.5-0.8 (not 0.05), and my $5 daily budget will be gone after 10 clicks. And if there is from 70 people nobody going to the site, from 10 people on the site also there will be no order.

I can also show you another ad about a teespring t shirt. 940 post engagements and CPC $0.01, and not one single sale from almost 1000 interacting people ....

Anatho, have you asked anyone for a feedback on the layout of your store?

hmm no not really? You mean someone on this thread? No not yet. But the problem is people do not even go to the store. They do not click on the link from the ad. only like and comment, but do not go to website.

Also I would really like to know what facebook considers as a "post engagement". For me and everyone who has common sense, a PE is either a like, a share, or a comment. And if they say I had 70 post engagements, and like+share+comment in total is LOWER than 70, so I want to know what ELSE is a post engagement because I had to PAY for that.
