I think the idea of list building is amazing, but growing the list is the hardest part. You say you have 67k and it took you 8 months, so that's a huge 240 opt-ins a day on average. How is that number possible? I'd like to grow a list that fast, but my growth rate is be much slower realistically (unless I'm missing something)

The weight loss niche is huge, go for it!
What auto-responder services do you use ? any review for Mailchimp ? i heard that they ban you for affiliate links.

It is wrong man. i have only 200 subscribers from Flippa and everytime , i send them an email (my regular email ), 2-5 respond back and only one website sold. that's a $97 sale plus 2-3 extra customers wanted me to build something for them. you can use warriorplus and sell them something related with websites (rank website, WP plugins...) but choose %100 commission.
I use aweber and getresponse, I don't really like mailchimp. They're all right but not for serious email marketing.

Just my 3 cents:
1.Apart from buying solo ads,getting targeted traffic from SEs,Social Media sites,pre-filter,using mass mailing and EYE-catching
landing pages!
2.Always remember to target desperate markets and also having a basic/expert knowledge on your niche is always a plus!
3.Keep your relationship with the lists by sending them quality ebooks/reports,etc. from time to time and organize the products you're going to be selling in a series style,i.e:
First product:How to make your first 100k on the Internet
Second product:Scaling up beyond 100k/year
You got the idea ...

So you're telling me a solo ad to a 8k buyers list isn't good? With an opt in rate of 5% that's 400 people on your list that have a history of buying products in your niche.
I convert at about 40% with solo ads to my squeeze page
