No, I currently am making money (3,500 client list) making more than you can imagine. So your giant lists aren't good unless everyone on it has bought at least 1x from you. I build my lists from Adwords and social networking. You know, if you even bothered to look around here, some of the "BSTS" offer good sources of buyers while others are complete garbage. Reading Mind Control Marketing and Perry Marshals Adwords PPC books might help you get started.

Who knows, This thread says 8 months, another thread he said 6 months.. Its all a mystery..! :dontknow:
It took around that if you want to be very specific it took me over 1 year. I had to find the right email service, test landing pages out, etc... The actual list building process took around 8 months. Researching the niche took longer.

So you're telling me a solo ad to a 8k buyers list isn't good? With an opt in rate of 5% that's 400 people on your list that have a history of buying products in your niche.

This isn't a secret, it's mentioned times after times after times on here (even the 40k/monthly thread) mentions the same. It's just alot of people are too lazy to implement the strategy. They get scared by thought of how long it will take for benefits and never take action!

Let's say, as an example, that you have a 50k list. That's good. However, the secret really isn't in the list. The secret is the quality of what you're selling. You say that even with a 1% conversion you would get a lot of money, that's true but it doesn't sound THAT SIMPLE. You see, even with a 1% conversion, selling that bad products can easily shrink down the 50k list to a 5k list.
Having a list is not like a list of sites where you can spam posts to. These emails are handled by real people who are serious about their business. Instead of focusing on the list, focus on the quality. Even if you only have a 5k lists of emails, continually offering them awesome products can give you at least a 50% conversion + good reviews + word of mouth marketing. I would prefer that in a heartbeat.
