The Reputation system has been removed

I just wonder if there will be an increase in stupid and rude behavior in threads by some members knowing there isn't a negative feedback system. A negative reo was a little like a scarlet letter at BHW so this may mean more work for the mods. Whatever, we will all manage without rep.

Great news :)
I am gonna use the report post button more often now instead of neg-repping someone :p

Spammers beware!!

There is NO way to tell if somebody is a scammer.

Sure there is, it 's called "brain". Are there any rep metrics popping up above the heads of brick & mortar sellers in your daily life?

People can't expect to receive a substitute for proper judgement. And that 's what was happening so far: "Oooooh, big rep, he 's trusted, here take $10k to invest". No, that 's just an excuse for lack of due diligence.

Damn, I can't find that thread to bump it. Someone please PM me the link to the "BHW's biggest thanks thread"..

I think he knows his view isn't favored by the mods and does not want the ban hammer for voicing a perfectly sound opinion.

Give me 1 instance where we have banned a person for disagreeing with us. Mods here aren't kids who want to measure their e-dicks, you should have known that by now. No one gets banned unless he brakes the rules. That 's why I consider whoever that person was totally spineless.

Not sure why, but I can still see rep button, but can't click on it. Let's see if deleting cache will help :|

My opinion on this.

I dont really like this move and here is why.

Rep system was something that even it was abused or not it was kinda helpfull to the community.
No ones checks how many thanks someone has and most of us here know that itrader is not used at all from most members.

Most people here dont take the time to research and a good (take not on that GOOD) rep system is going to help everyone.
No rep system i think is bad for all.

Things to make the rep system better.
No rep on lounge.
Yes no more rep for funny things. We are not a meme community.

No more than 1 rep per person every month.
In the long run the quality members will always rise. If you are not able to rep a second nice share from a member is not going to hurt them so much in the end.

No more rep circles or rep abusers.
This will sound hard but i dont think it is so hard.
BHW is a great community with great traffic and making their members feel as safe as possible will going to take it to the next level.
BHW stuff can hire 1-2 lets call them "REP Mods" and their job will be to check daily some sections for threads that clearly ask for rep and investigate strange things so they discover some possible rep circles or rep abusing.

Heavy ban if you abuse the system.
Give a 3 or 6 month or even forever ban to people who abuse the system. A reputable member with old account is never going to risk his account for some silly fake rep points.

These are my ideas about the rep system.
It was a mess lately but if we work together on it we can make a nice system that will make people share quality stuff easier and make BST threads stand out easier.
My 2 cents.

Now we have the meaning of the dream the guy had the other day
when he dreamed his dick fell off.

HA HA HA... That was too funnny thread i came through, Members who are not happy with this decision will feel it lol .

Now that doesn't really stand up, many highly successful and intelligent people have been scammed for huge amounts of money.

THERE IS NO WAY TO IDENTIFY A SCAMMER, you can only do your best to try and avoid them.

Real scammers do THEIR due diligence.

I'm really looking forward to seeing single posts with just "lol" with a lot of thanks given, outing the entire "thanks circle" :D

No one is infallible. Everyone can get scammed. That 's not an argument for not taking personal responsibility, not doing your due diligence and not using your brain. And it certainly isn't an argument for relying on a third-party metric.
