wow! This is a good idea,i hope BHW now super AWESOME for this update

I'm so glad it's gone, lol.

P.S if anyone wants to be a part of my skype "Thanks" exchange group, PM me :biglaugh:

I feel its a case of punishing the few bad.

While positive rep didnt mean anything, negative rep was a good indicator. I don't really feel this is justified, but of course it won't hurt anyone.

And, I was about to rep a guy for being sarcastically funny, and then I realized this shit doesn't exist anymore. *Mixed emotions*

I sometimes used it to genuinely applaud those who made great contributions or shared great stuff. Now, in order to inform that guy about it, I need comment on the thread. A lot of things will change, but it had to given its mass abuse.

I logged in the morning in BHW and saw some one negative Rep me. I was so angry, it was kinda racist neg. rep for me! And out of anger i just logged out and whole day i was cursing that guy and the whole system. And now i see, the whole system has been removed! Yippeeee!!!! God really loves me! LOL
BHW Rocks...!

Bravo: its a bold but more importantly right decision that will be good for the community.

It would be a long and tedious process for the Admins to dig back and
see who was and who was not getting/giving Neg Reps and +Reps and
if they were justified in giving/receiving them. There are more important
issues to be attended to.

I agree Mods and Admin have better things to do.

I feel the only negative to removing Rep is that the whiny mofo's who always complain about being negged or those jealous of other peoples rep seem to have got their way.
(I was aiming for the big 10k)

It will be interesting to see if all those people, who believed Rep and Quality on BHW were linked, are correct and BHW is suddenly swamped with quality material.

Or will the moaners and whingers find something else to whine about?

I love how I see all this hate over rep circles.

Cry me a river and then show me where in the rules it says that can not happen?...Exactly.

How will you continue onto making the forum informational and content rich when everyone who shared something was doing it for rep ?
After the freebie section got "rep free" it became visitor free also :)

Another question would be on how will you keep the forum boards from transforming into one big marketplace as even today you can see that each BST is upped once/day, and even without any sales/info

Yet another question (this one will hurt your pockets) how will you convince people to continue subscribing to JR.VIP because as you all know and as Wiz stated, some people just want to watch the world burn and neg rep newbs... now that the power to neg rep is gone... a lot of people will pass on renewing their JR. VIP subscriptions

Also a while ago I was thinking of the JR.VIP forums as of a promised land filled with new methods and I was rather disappointed to see that all the methods there (the good ones anyway) are from 2012

One reason why people started buying JR.VIP is to have a sponsored signature banner and the people who bought those signatures paid more if the person had more rep/posts... now that rep is gone I can see a lot of JR.VIPS who paid for the subscription not renewing it since no one is gonna pay 50$/month for a sig link anymore :)

Just one more thought... what's gonna stop Jr Execs from fucking the other BST owners since being light blue and having the "Exec" title will most likely give them a higher conversion rating on BST's :)

Oh wait..i have one more... how are you going to stop the flood of scammers that's gonna appear ? Open new account, sprint to 150 posts, buy JR. VIP, open a BST, buy a service and give it to a mod, scam 100 people... get banned, rinse and repeat :)

I personally think the idea of a rep system is good, but obviously it gets abused mainly because you give the members power to give and take rep. Instead of people giving or taking rep there could be a system to calculate rep based on the quality of posts, so people can see if the user is a good poster without having to go through their previous posts.

to calculate the quality of the posts it would be the ratio of someones posts to thanks and where they post. that way it would be easy to see people who just post crap to up their post count, like newbies.

this way no-one can give or take rep so there will be less abuse, but then there might be the problem of "thanks circles" but it would have less effect as the power of 1 thanks is the same across all accounts, unlike what reputation was.

but it would require a bit of coding so it might not really be worth the hassle.

Honestly .. your last point is what i am worried about most ... i have never given too much indulgence to the +Reps
but now what would differentiate a scammer with a modus operandi like you described to someone who is trying to make decent / honest income from a BST

ToG

Well I hit 3k rep today, so I'm happy :P

I guess we'll have to go by thanks and itrader score now when buying/selling.

i would know because there's more to blackhat than IM and SEO

So, rep was the only way you differentiated a scammer? There's quite a few BST sellers that didn't have rep in the thousands...hardly even the hundreds. Would they be considered a (potential) scammer?

c'mon...you know bs when you see it.

No Rep = No Quality Posts .... laughable. Some members with the highest rep posted bs all day long.
