I'm not gonna lie to you guys, I opened this thread to LOL to see the flaming that I knew was gonna be in it.

Back to work now. :)

OP, panda isn't a myth and it's not necessarily affects only shitty content sites.

But what about serp lost, yeah, it might be caused by having huge quantity of backlinks deindexed, but again, it can be caused by lots of other factors too

you don`t need to be a SEO genius to rank 1000 pissy 'baseball bat from england' type of keywords... so don`t make any observations out of that and stop pretending to be a SEO master - you don`t know shit about panda.

That's the thing I didn't say Panda is a Myth. I said a panda penalty is a myth.

Sears and JC Pennies were penalized for doing some serious no no black hat stuff.

Getting sandboxed is a form of a penalty.

Getting your Serps lowered because Google's new algorithm didn't like something isn't a penalty. That's a slap.

Too many people thinking there website can't rank now because it got penalized due to Panda when it only got slapped and slaps are easy to overcome.

Erm...if there is no panda (like you said), how can people get slapped because they did something panda didn't liked?
You are contradicting yourself.

I ranked a client in one of the top 5 biggest cities in America for "CityName Attorney" in less than 3 months. In fact, he is at #2 now and when we started he was at #137.

haha you don't make $6,000 minimum per client for ranking 1 keyword when you are ranking "baseball bat from england" lol

I appreciate the effort though :)

Here are the numbers on 1 of my sites for 2011 just to back up what I'm saying. Pulled this one at random.

it took you 6 months to gain traffic back. even at that it was small gains with your best month being december. see how 2012 goes before you starting assuming shit.

Dude my traffic was at it's lowest in January if you didn't notice. It only went up from then. In fact my traffic was only that high in January because I was ranked #1 for a review on a major product launch. In Dec of 2010 I only had like 1,500 visitors because the site was just a few months old.

I've already got 1,797 visitors to that site in the 3 days of stats this year anyway. I'm ranked in the top 5 for one of the biggest new Internet Marketing product launches of the last couple years. That traffic is just going to keep going up for awhile.

I'm not sure what you're trying to prove here man? But I can tell you for a fact that it exists.

Panda exists yes. But Google putting a "penalty" on websites that keeps them from ranking does not.

Whatever caused a website to lose SERPS through the Panda update can be overcome with a little elbow grease. A website is not simply "lost" because of it.

Retarded.

So what you think there brainy boy? The internet suddenly got triple the users from between January and December?

No? The internet didn't get triple the users? Well then, obviously your increase of visitors had to come from somewhere. Your site went up in traffic, obviously other sites went down in traffic then ... ya think?

What kind of retarded argument are you trying to make, that your personal websites didn't get a Panda penalty so therefore, there is no such thing as a Panda penalty? Regardless of what Panda did or did not do, it obviously didn't triple the volume of searches in your niche in 1 years time. Whatever increase you experienced has been at the expense of other websites. (Those other websites were the victim of Panda penalties).

Just flip your nose at everyone and say "neener neener, my sites didn't get hit by Panda and yours did, neener neener", it would at least be an accurate statement.

I do apologize if that's the way it came across as it was not how I meant it. The purpose of the post was simply to help people out and give them some hope and I didn't expect this much anger from it lol.

As far as the traffic to that site, no it took a large jump because like I said, I have a top 5 ranking for a huge internet marketing product launch that is going on right now and I build pages to it constantly which is why the traffic has a rather steady increase overall.

Most active websites that do any seo at all will continue to grow traffic over time. Obviously month to month will fluctuate but over time, good websites grow.

Also I think it was pretty obvious I wasn't making the argument based off of my websites. I only pointed that out to try and show that it's not like I have 1 website but I do this for a living so I have some pretty good experience.

The point was that when people speak in terms of a Google "penalty" they are typically saying that their website is being punished and it won't rank again unless Google unpunishes them. From that aspect, the Panda update was not a "penalty" so to speak but a slap that can be overcome.

I don't know much about panda at all, I'm still trying to get my seo going for my biz, which reminds me, if anyone would like to partner, let me know

When panda came out, ezinearticles traffic plummeted. hubpages traffic plummeted. Not only did they plummet, they plummeted exponentially exactly the same way, if you go to compete.com and compare their traffic charts, you'll see they both experienced the exact same penalty, their bars trace over each other.

Then hubpages.com switched all their content to subdomains around June. Look at what happened to their traffic after that, 25% increase.

It was an arbitrary change. Exact same content, different gimmick to deliver it (subdomains). Ezinearticles, on the other hand ... they didn't do any gimmick. Their traffic continues to suck.

I can tell you right here, right now, without a shadow of a doubt ... if ezinearticles switched to subdomains their traffic would increase, just like hubpages.

In the end, its the same content ... the penalty is arbitrary. In this specific case, it had nothing to do with backlinks, or content (except how the content was delivered). It is a very specific penalty, and its called PANDA. Switching to subdomains diffuses some of the panda penalties on large websites. An engineer at Google consulted hubpages to do this in order to reduce Panda related penalties.

This thread is about how Panda is a myth. Meanwhile, every SEO professional out there references Panda. Matt Cutts has referenced Panda. Its just silly to suggest there is no such thing as the panda update.

Once again I NEVER said Panda is a myth. NEVER.

I actually agree with what you are saying. The only difference being is I would call it a "slap" not a true "penalty". Everything else, I completely agree with.

The link I gave people to visit on my post is a link to Matt Cutts talking about how to overcome Panda for petes sake lol.
