DAY 3 ROUND-UP
Remember when I said Morocco (
@Venusaur) vs. Brazil (
@Fresh Money) would be a 1-1 draw?
A superb game which Morocco dominated until Vini Jr. decided to wake up and almost break the back of the net. Both members should be happy with this result.
-------------------
Less happy will be
@FannyG, as a talented Turkiye side were out-muscled by an impressive Australia side (
@Guty) in a 2-0 defeat. Australia always qualify for the World Cup, never make much of an impression - but I can see them going further than usual here.
-------------------
Scotland (
@Famia) squeezed past Haiti (
@Carlit) in probably the worst game of the tournament so far. Not worth staying up to nearly 4am for and I would have closed my curtains if that game was playing in my back garden. I don't have a back garden but you get my point.
-------------------
A few days ago, Charles Barkley was quoted as saying the San Antonio Spurs were the dumbest team in the history of civilisation. So what does that make Switzerland (
@Angelina.sk) after they conceded a late equaliser to somehow draw with a dreadful Qatar (
@p3n7357) side? By my count they had 895 shots in the game and still couldn't get the job done. Qatar get their first World Cup point though - and probably their last.
-------------------
Today, Germany (
@Kentoa) start their campaign against a debuting Curaçao (
@Melissam). Some bookies are giving Curaçao a 33-1 chance of winning this game. I'm predicting 5-0 to Germany. Sorry to the many Curaçao born forum members.
I erroneously suggested yesterday that Netherlands (
@Stavro) were playing Japan (
@ShikharG). They were not. They are today though. I stand by my 3-2 to the Dutch prediction.
Côte d'Ivoire (
@Claudis) will face Ecuador (
@soyelco) in one that's too close to call. I suspect this will be a very bad game and I'm going for a 0-0 prediction. Will this stop me from staying up until nearly 2am watching it? Of course not.
And Sweden (
@Kiemash) will be looking to shake off a terrible qualifying campaign against a pretty strong Tunisia (
@Inem2) side. As a Liverpool fan, I just want to say that if Alexander Isak gets through this tournament without injury I will both be livid and relieved. Going 1-0 to Sweden here.

Meanwhile, a couple of Scotland fans somehow managed to invade the Telemundo booth....
