The next Instagram: keek.com?

The video microsharing site launched about a year after Instagram, and has already generated 12 million dollars in venture capital. It looks like early adopters are already developing autofollow and followback bots and tagbots, and there appear to be a small number of keek videos taking a watermark/direct promotion approach to bizops and similar offers.

Their latest round of venture capital will probably be focused on promoting the service. With app store promotion and celebrities like the Jenner girls hopping on the bandwagon, it could explode quickly.

There have only been 2 or 3 mentions of the site prior to this on BHW. Interesting to speculate who's getting a head start on monetizing this while it's under the radar.

I've known about Keek for months now. Yeah, Kendall and Kylie Jenner have over 300K followers each.

I don't think it will be the next Instagram simply but yeah, I could see it blowing up quite a bit.

Currently working on some marketing efforts over there.
 
I have had a little look at these new networks, but instagram still drives a LOT more traffic than them :D

Instagram has already filled the niche, these new sites will never take over.
 
there are like 3 different apps based on the same concept, and they never catch on like instagram has. Videos are a lot harder to post then pictures.
 
I like the speed and set up of the site....this one is a winner. I would definitely be interested in picking up/selling a bot for this
 
Maybe I'm just totally missing somethin here, but I never understood the popularity of these types of sites. So Instagram and Pinterest are just social sites where people post a bunch of dumbass pictures right? People can see pictures anywhere, why go to those sites? This one is the same thing but for videos. What is so different about posting videos here from something like YouTube for example?

Well I understand it from a Black Hat money-making perspective. What I meant though was why the general public is so infatuated with these sites. Twitter for example is nothing but Facebook status updates but without everything else Facebook has. Yet people act like it's something revolutionary. Instagram and Pinterest are just sites where people upload photos from what I understand, but there have been sites like that forever.

I'm all for milking those sites for money and spamming the shit out of them. My question was directed towards people who use the sites for recreational reasons.

I have just checked some domains of Keek, they registerd many geo targeted domains also. It'll be Big for Sure :)

Now Who's making the Bot for it :D
 
Its clearly getting a ton of traffic. I went to the Latest Keeks and I was on the 6th page and the uploads were still only seconds old.

It looks like a ton of middle school girls are using it. And middle school girls dont have credit cards. Maybe an email submit offer would work...

What's so hard to understand? People love to expose themselves and get attention by other people - Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest are all good ways of doing this. Instagram isn't just a site where "People upload photos", ImageShack is a site where you can just upload your photos, Instagram is a social network with photos where you can share pictures of what you love and what you are doing in your life and the way that all your friends and the rest of the world will be able to be a part of it.

It's the same as all those teenage girl posting picture of themselves getting loads of likes and comments, which makes them feel much better about themselves, the attetion and the confirmation knowing they get by the comments and likes. The same as Facebook and Twitter, you share your life and interest.

But it is also a place where you can spend your time, people are always looking for things to do when they are bored and Facebook is a perfect example of this, this is why there are so many users on Facebook, 9gag etc - they simply have nothing else to do. This is why sites like this will always work and become bigger in the future, they are just playgrounds on the internet and people will always be looking for new ones where they can spend their time.
 
This is great, read the features and it seems promising. Going to sign up now and learn this from the inside out and begin planning ways to milk $$$ from it!

Keek? Hate the name. Sounds like either a racial slur or a woman's body part.

But then again I thought Google and Twitter were terrible names.
