They are limited to Spanish, and if you submit articles written in spanish you are eligible just for performance payment not upfront payment. It is important to know this before you do anything.

damn over 1000 post the only way this thread is gonna stop if it is closed i can see it reaching the 3000 post mark.

And the annoying thing is, 50% of this thread consists of questions that have been anwered 100 times over....and my favorite - "I just submitted 1 article and I'll let you guys know what happens in a week." The suspense just kills me lol

If you have multiple accounts under one password, IP, or paypal then that would probably be the cause. It happened to me last week where I can't register accounts anymore.

I only have one account..

I have similar question like nomon111

I would like to do this legit, so what does that W-9 fro actually means? I could sign up under my brother's name (he's in the US) and do all the work, but I don't want that he gets some taxes or I don't know what on his back.

Can anyone explain about this?

Thx in advance

W9 is what you submit to AC for their records. If you make more than $600, they'll submit your info for tax purposes and send you a 1099 form.

If you don't wanna get taxed, then just create a new account before reaching the $500 - $600 earning limit.

@all4jah
Ok. And 1099 form means that I have to pay some part of that money to the IRS, right? I don't really care about that, as long as everything is legit. I don't want to scam, just do it like a regular job.

@Aremys
It would be cool not to get taxed, but wouldn't that mean I would have to change my email and PayPal every time I reach 500$? It's not a hard work, but can I have that many PayPal accounts?

It is NOT for USA only. You can publish content without being a USA resident.

However...

"If you are a not a citizen or legal resident of the United States, you cannot receive Upfront Payment from Associated Content. You are eligible, however, to submit content for Performance Payments."

Basically, if your not a USA resident, you will only get paid depending on performance of your articles ie pageviews. However, you won't get paid for submissions - which sucks :)

So anyone has more info about this "anonymous corporation service"? Will it work with AssociatedContent? I am not a US resident either :(

No, you don't need to create many accounts. You can add up to 8 email addresses per Paypal account. Just recycle the email slots everytime you need an account with AC. (You can just delete/replace used email addresses in case you don't have enough email slots left.)

This issue has been discussed numerous times. I'm not a US resident either but I got paid for Upfront Payments several times already. Just indicate there that you are a US resident even if you're not.

^^ You better hope they don't find out cause I'm sure its possible either you or AC can get into trouble. The government doesn't like nobody f'ing with what they should be getting. Stupid I know but thats how all governments are.

Okay so here's my latest update. I submitted 23 articles over the past 2 weeks or so, furthest back was 10/07/08. Haven't been reviewed til today and BAM all of them rejected. Not unique enough, to similar to such and such website or cite your sources. WTF. I do research and write the articles, how do i cite my sources for that? We all have sources of research and such. Anybody else have any similar experience? So with that said, anybody else cite sources and if so, how does that affect the payment amount?

I am a non US citizen. I was unable to login to AC for last few days. Then I email to AC for my login problem. Today I received a reply from them. They going to close down my a/c. :(

Before we can allow you to participate with Associated Content, we must have a W-9 on file from you. You can print off the form from www.IRS.gov (just click on the left hand side where it says ?W-9 Form?), fill it out, and fax it to 720.214.0293.

The sooner we receive this, the faster you will be able to begin submitting with Associated Content.

If we do not receive this form within one (1) week, we will close your account without further notification.

Sincerely,
Associated Content

warp0011, what happened? Did you earned more than 500?

on a side note, I think that it may be a bit risky if you play by the $500 line. If I am not mistaken, articles sent for upfront payment also entitles to performance payment. So if you have an article so well written, it may attract heck lot of traffic if it is dugg. And suddently boom, 80K of visits will add another $80 to your account, and if you happened to have earned $420 so far, you just triggered the W-9 alarm.

that's why in my opinion, you just have to have a safety net. create multiple accounts if you really want to game on that.

I prefer to go legit, and wouldn't mind pay my friend's taxes if I have to. Just wanna make sure that it won't get her into any trouble (losing her job, for example)

Yeah, definitely bad news. I got some bad news from Paypal too, I forgot that I was using a proxy and logged into my Paypal account to make payment, next thing I know my account got limited. I've submitted all that they have requested, so I have put my AC submissions on hold until I hear back from Paypal.

As for AC... You guys need to really start staying under the radar, at least this Paypal issue has started to make me look through a lot of things. I'm going to try my best to remain under the radar.

If your account gets suspended, don't even bother to email them for others trying this method, just create a new one. I've tested a few proxy search engines that actually allowed me to login to my AC account successfully. So you may want to consider signing up for a new account using a proxy search engine.

Also, did you go over the $600 limit?

I does seem as if you actually bypassed the tax limit. If it was an issue with your IP address, they wouldn't have sent you information about filing tax return.

OK thanks, got it. I have to "be" a US resident and then create a new account / change my Paypal email address every time I hit the $500 limit since I can't use the W9 form anyway...

So this also involves logging in through a proxy as soon as I create other accounts...
