The day Grammarly lost my faith

I found one of my very old blog posts I created last year. I was gaining some traffic but it was just a post. So I decided to do a plagiarism check with Grammarly because I didn't do a plagiarism checks back in the days.

I got a score of 95 with 3% of plagiarism. I was totally aware that this post is out there people reading and kind of worried that Grammarly didn't crawl through it.

So I went on Google and picked a free random plagiarism checker and it gave me a result of 100% plagiarism.

If you are only using Grammarly to check plagiarism, try to use another tool just in case. It is a very good tool for grammar checking but not for plagiarism checking.

How would a 100% plagiarized article end up on your site? Either your competition copied it from your site or you copied it from a competitor.

It's not like your article magically appeared onyour site

Grammarly is good for grammar correction but you always need to cross check, for plagiarism always use copyscape

Did you check if the original content holder wasn't your same blog?

Grammerly I think should be used for SEO but its a good plugin for Grammer and English errors. dont use it for SEO

I've never used grammarly for plagiarism but for grammar checking... not sure who had the great idea to do so but they are not proficient compared to other specialized tools like copyscape.

Probably next year when my Grammarly subs expires, I will be switching to LanguageTool for grammar and dropping Grammarly (unless they give me a very good deal)

We switched our writers from Copyscape to Quetext Pro ( $10 a month ) to check for uniqueness.

I love Grammarly. I'm on my second sub with them but holy shit I wouldn't use their plagiarism checker. It's god awful.

A few days back I copied 200-300 word text from a well know SEO website and pasted in on Grammarly premium plagiarism checker.
I was shocked to see that Grammarly showed 0% plagiarism

Hundreds if not thousands. It often picks up things Copyscape misses too.
