The Cumulative Youtube + CPA Thread

This is one of the most informative Youtube//CPA thread I came across. Very scientific and detailed, will surely follow this.

I agree with everyone, one of the best laid out journals on the board. Good luck, Gonna follow and see how you do.

UPDATE

Hey everyone I thought I should check in and update you guys. I have officially started uploading videos to YouTube and trying to promote my links. I want to provide an example for you so guess what.....I'm going to tell you my niche.

OMG!?!? WTF?!?! I'M GIVING AWAY MY NICHE ON A PUBLIC FORUM!!!

It's not really a big deal. I decided to go with software. Why? I honestly just picked it out of the blue and decided to just go with. Another reason why it's not a big deal is because of the way I've set up my landers. Most people automatically say "I have to install WordPress". This is a mistake from the start. When you install WordPress most people don't take the time to find the plugin that doesn't display the rest of the post on the blog (search for it). By making this mistake they're giving away ALL their niches. Most people promote fake cracks and hacks, so the argument of I'll get downloads on other niches doesn't hold water. I like to make landers and just have 1 URL to promote. Before I get into it there are a few things I want to address.

TIME MANAGEMENT

Don't spend too much time with things that don't contribute to your success. For example, reading threads on BHW. I started to keep track of how much time I was doing each task and found out I waste more time than I thought. It's ok to read threads, or check your stats. Have a little fun every now and then. Take a break. Remember a break is a break from working. Not a break from checking your Facebook. I set a time limit of 2 hours on BHW. Then I set a goal to accomplish, like uploading 5 videos. I get something accomplished then I check my Skype. You get the point.

SKYPE / FACEBOOK

I get a million Skype / Facebook messages every day. If I counted, it probably would a million. People asking me the most basic questions that could be answered by just reading this thread. I mean I'm basically writing a book here the least you can do is search BHW. I'm not a shortcut to your success. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem helping people out (thus the reason for this thread). Questions like "What are you into" or "What niches are you promoting" or my favorite "What CPA network are you with". I'm extremely busy and really don't want to talk about topics you could research here on BHW. I don't mean to be rude, but if you haven't done your due diligence then PLEASE don't waste my time. I assume you're as serious about your goal as I am with mine. Respect my time.

VALIDATION

The point of this forum is for us to help each other. Making posts about how much your making or taking screen shots and posting them up does nothing for people trying to learn. I've always felt like BHW is a place where knowledge is given to people who are actually trying to learn something. It's give and take. I have no problem telling people what I've spent hours researching, but I'm not just going to give you all my landers and methods and get nothing in return. I'm not out for personal validation. I love questions like "What do you use to optimize your keyword selection" or "Take a look at this and tell me what you think". Things that actually show you have done something and are looking to progress. I'm not going to steal your niche. I would hope that out of respect for each other here that you would have the same attitude. I place far more value in my own research and things I have found / substantiated.

OFFER OPTIMIZATION

Most of you won't want to hear this, but this is no golden CPA network. Sure some are better than others, and some have offers others don't. All of that doesn't matter if you don't know how to optimize your offers. Let's take a mathematical perspective to it. Do you honestly think you're going to make $300 a day by having $2 email submits? Unless you're driving some serious traffic it's not going to happen.

Conversion ratio is more important than EPC. I'm going to say that again. Conversion ratio is more important than EPC. It warrants saying one more time. Conversion ratio is more important than EPC. This holds true because your EPC is determined by how many times someone completes an offer. Assuming the ratio stays the same, you can choose higher paying offers, and look at that, EPC rises. It's important to establish an average conversion ratio because it lets you know that your lander, you locker, and offers are solid. Once you have that base, then you can make changes and test stuff.

Let's remember the average ratios. If you have a decent video 1:2 people who view your video will click the link. 1:20 (on the low end) will click your offer and complete it, assuming you have a decent lander / content locker. I've seen threads on here with people having 1:15 conversion ratios for the whole month. These stats are average across the threads I've read on BHW Journey threads. I didn't just pull them out of the air. How do they make so much money?

The key is to have high paying, first page submit offers. What type of offers are those? I'm not going to tell you. You're going to have to go to your CPA network and look for offers over $4 that are first page submits. I'll give you a hint, it's not pin submits. Now how do you get them to convert? The secret is in the locker. It's the only thing that stands between your lander and people completing the offer. Tell people what to do to complete the offer. Don't beg them. I see too many lockers with people saying "Please complete and offer." Like oh oh ooo please just do one. It sounds so desperate. TELL THEM! You have content they want (or they think you do). Work with them to accomplish both goals. They get the content, you get the conversion. Then if you have Mighty Content Locker you can boost offers! That way you always have at least a few high paying offers and maybe some email submits for those people who are lazy. In a way you're almost forcing them to complete an offer because they don't want to do one of the high paying ones. You're basically giving them ways out with an email submit.

HMA / VPN

Some sort of VPN is an important tool to have. It hides your IP address and doesn't let YouTube know where your uploading from. If you have HMA be sure to use the speed test to make sure you're on the fastest server. I went to upload a video and it said 120 minutes! I was like WHOA! I did the speed test and got on the best server and it dropped to 20 minutes. I need to upgrade my internet so I have a faster upload speed. CCleaner is also a good tool to have. Use it when switching between accounts. Better Privacy is a good Firefox add-on that clears cookies automatically as well. Research those two tools to help save your PVA's. Videos you can always re-upload. Accounts you have to buy.

ORGANIZATION

I plan on putting as much quality content on YouTube as I can. However, YouTube plans on deleting as much content as possible too. I've prepared ahead of time for this. I have a folder for each niche I promote. It has an optimized keyword list and all the videos I've uploaded. I worked hard to get those videos optimized. I don't want that to be time and effort wasted. I also have a spread sheet with the PVA used, the bit.ly link, the video link and file name. Then in the keyword document I put the title, keywords and description. When YouTube deletes my video, I can edit the MD5 and have it back up in minutes. No, I won't give you a spreadsheet. Make your own. I just told you how.

The lander I created is also a template. I can just change out the text and the pictures, edit the keywords and title and BAM! I have a new lander. None of them are linked to each other so unless you tried to download one of the other products, no one would ever know. This helps speed up the process of pumping out content. I've done the same thing in Sony Vegas Pro 12 with my videos. I just saved all the frames I insert into videos (which I scrape) and can make new videos in a matter of minutes. I have a system set up which allows me to put out content faster than YouTube can delete it.

NICHE INFORMATION

http://bit.ly/SonyVegasProFreeDownload

That's my lander. I've done my best to make it as appealing as possible. I don't care if you steal it. Good Luck. I've also done my best to protect the source code. If you're smart, you'll click my download button and see what offers I run. Maybe you complete some offers along the way. I dunno, it happens sometimes. I used Google Keyword Tool to optimize this page. Not the YouTube Keyword tool. You want search results and information from Google for your lander and you want to use YouTube Keyword Tool for your video.

I've researched a lot about keywords and their effectiveness. Most people think if you just stuff your page full of keywords you rank better. Not true. You want to pick at most 10 keywords and make them niche relevant. Keywords that get the most traffic aren't always the best because then you have more to compete with. Same goes for YouTube. You want that 80K range for search results and the same or lower for results. I use YouTube Ranker tool from Healzer and thanks to both of us steady improving it, the tool has come a long way.

STATS

Like I said, today was my first day. I took April fool's day off because I basically slept through the whole day. I've only had videos uploaded for a few hours and have been just spamming my links with Google alerts and random blogs. 2 hours and I have my first conversion already. Notice the earnings. Instead of 4 e-mail submits, I just pick 1 high paying offer and thus need less conversions.

April 2, 2013
Videos - 9
Niches - 1
Clicks - 23
Conversions - 1
Earned - 6.25

GOALS

My goal is $60 a day.
How many conversions is that? $60 / $6 offers = 10 conversions.
If 1:20 visitors (low end estimation) complete an offer how many clicks do I need? 20 clicks x 10 conversions = 200 clicks.
If 1:2 clicks my links, how many people do I need to get interested in my video? 200 clicks x's 2 viewers = 400 views.
I need to get 400 views to my lander per day.

How many videos is that going take? It's kinda like asking how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie roll tootsie pop. It's different for everyone. This gives everyone and idea of how much of each metric it takes to reach your goal. You could put it in a spread sheet and have the numbers auto populate. Just an idea.

TO DO THIS WEEK

Simply put...crank out more landers and videos. Now that I have everything set up, it's just a matter of content. It's a numbers game at this point. Hopefully once I get my internet speed fixed I can expedite this process. Until then I need to just build a queue of stuff to be uploaded.

I also need to figure out this whole YouTube boosting business. I know I'm going to need user engagement so I need to find an automated way to make that happen. I don't want to be stuck on a website watching videos and clicking buttons like it's a PTC (paid to click) website. I won't update this thread every day, but I will provide daily stats on the next update. Till then.

very informative thread, good luck with your journey mate.
When YouTube deletes my video, I can edit the MD5 and have it back up in minutes
I create my own video using camtasia, and I always keep the project file .camproj.
If my video deleted, and I generate new video from the camproj file, should I need to change it a bit?
I'm referring to the MD5 things, not the real eye watching the video.
If I just generate new video without changing it, will youtube notice it?
*sorry for noob question, but I'm definitely a noob when it comes to video things.

I'm interested too about the MD5 thing..
How can you edit your MD5?

Btw congrats mate, I'm more than sure you'll succeed! ;)

Thanks for this great contribution! All the best on your journey I'm sure you will succeed with that mindset. I will most certainly follow this.

Great Post! I can't believe I don't come in here more often. And Lol at the validation post, I just made a post about how much I earned. But that actually helps me, seeing other people earning big shows me I could be doing the same. So that's why I like stats and stuff like that, Not to brag.

Great post and good job on your lead!

great thread! I have one question, what is the best way to create a landing page?

great thread! I have one question, what is the best way to create a landing page?

many ways,

you can go to the downloads section
you can download templates and edit them (html/css)
you can use wordpress
:)

Good luck with your journey! It seems that you've done really nice research and I'm sure that you will achieve success very soon. I have few tips for you:
1. Optimize the offers by EPC, not by conv. %.
2. Non-incentive offers convert very well on Content Lockers but make sure that you send fake traffic to keep your CR and EPC lower than the average of the network.
3. Do not encourage your visitors to use fake emails because the advertisers will notice that and you will raise red flag.

23 clicks
1 conversion
something is wrong.

I think these came from sharing his landing page. Not sure.

Niches have 10K-40K Global searches (broad matches not exact)

These are with GKT or YKT?

Yes, those clicks came from sharing the landing page. Thus why the conversion ratio is messed up. The actual offer was 1:3. Brendo you missed the whole point of optimizing the offers and why EPC isn't as important as conversion ratio. It's ok, I'm only explaining things once to people. Do what works for you and I'll do the same.

UPDATE

Stats are in the toilet. I'm not even going to post them because they might as well be 0. It's really depressing having worked so hard for several weeks trying to learn all this stuff and then not even making money doing it. I mean no money. $0. Zilp. Zero. Nada. If I counted up all the money I invested in this versus the money I made, I'm in the red by hundreds.

People saying, keep trying! Don't give up! That does nothing for me. Constantly doing the same thing over and over again isn't going to change anything. I need to add something new, or do something different I'm not doing. Honestly, it all comes down to your niche. I'm fuckin horrible at picking niches. I even bought tools to help me do it. I still can't figure it out. People get 30 clicks and 5 conversions like WTF? I can't even get 1 conversion on my own. I'm sure the conversions I got were from people here on the forum helping me out.

Part of being at the forum is the admiration I have for people who can make it work. I am the ultimate Epic Failure. I've been at this forum since 2004 (under different names) and haven't found 1 thing I can make money doing or sustain. Yet I'm still here. Maybe one day someone will spoon feed me like I apparently need. Probably not though. So much for "taking action".

I'm not updating this thread anymore because If I can't do it, I certainly don't need to be telling other people how to. Hopefully I'll find that method that will at least make me $1 in the black. I have some other things I'm going to try, but it's not worth posting here. Good luck to everyone in the Youtube + CPA niche. I hope you fare better than me.

You cant be serious. You create one of the most detailed journey threads ever. It is too early for giving up. Everything you do is looking correct to me. So the problems are in your niches. You alredy got the knowledge for the hard part, looking for new niches cant be so difficult.
