The Calculated Risk of Using PBNs

The scamming part comes from how you advertise it. Do you sell it as "calculated risk", or "the best pbn ever and if it doesn't work, buyer had to do his due diligence". The later is often used in BST section, thus making it unreliable.

The plan:

I will buy 20 PBNs per month and point it towards the site. I will not do any other type of links. 100% PBNs. It’s the most cost-effective way to rank a site, the other type of links are just a waste of money in my opinion.

I asked the guys that I will buy my PBNs from if they would be willing to offer PBNs posts for the readers of this journey, and they were. So here is their exclusive landing page for the readers of this journey (they usually just do referral business): [LINK REMOVED]

Personally I do just 1 article per PBN, have yet to see what type of PBNs they provided me this time. I have started to not give a flying fuck anymore since any PBN will be penalized if they get manually checked (unless you spend literally thousands per PBN to make it not only look, but BE a real site). It's a calculated risk to use PBNs, that you may or may not be willing to take. :)

I am glad you'd rather make a whole new thread about my comment rather than PMing me or addressing it directly on your thread. Clearly I have made you feel guilt about being a shyster and getting caught red handed on your intentions of selling a site with poor off page SEO. The worst part is this site you're supposedly selling for $100k is going to have a back link profile where it is 100% PBNs. It stinks of bullshit in here, open the window.

You posted that on a public forum where people of all walks of life working in the IM industry come to. You're publicly saying you don't give a shit about the buyer as long as they sign the check and it doesn't bounce.

This comment hits the nail on the head:
High-quality PBN's don't look like PBN's at all. They merely look like genuine blog posts, from genuine people - that's where a lot of people mess up by purchasing various levels of content.

You try a cheap dude out, then you decide to go with someone a little more seasoned; two blog posts written by the "same author", but with different grammar and tone throughout each passage.

It's the little things that give PBN's away.. and when you blatantly don't care about quality, it should come back and bite you right in the ass (at some point).

Additionally, I don't care if you think it is none of my business. It WAS none of my business.. Until you posted it on a public forum where free speech applies.

This is my first and last serious post in here, I don't want to argue with anyone.

Well you clearly misunderstood me in the way of me using your quote. Sorry for that. I got a spark, let's call it a urge, to rant a little about a topic I've seen so many discussing - so I thought I would include it to add some context. I didn't do a quote of your post as I felt like it wasn't you who I replied to, but just where I got the spark from.

Have you seen some of the sites PBNs that are being sold for $100-150K? They are absolutely rubbish. In the sales process of any legitimate website broker they analyze your backlinks and ask a few questions regarding the usage of PBNs and so on. My point is that if any of my $300/PBN or $30/PBN get manually reviewed I am utterly screwed - so is anyone using PBNs.

The journey of mine is to prove others that 100% PBNs are great. In my journey in fact it isn't me building the PBNs, these PBNs have thousands of posts not linking towards my site (or any other site for that matter). I am using my own PBNs towards the other 30+ sites not mentioned on this forum. Either way, I don't really mind your critique against my method of doing this, that's alright, I appreciate it - if nobody wants a site that is sold with the tag "100% PBNs" then so be it, I can for sure enjoy the passive income!

Thank you! :)

I'll preface this post by saying that Hekke is a big inspiration and I really appreciate his continued generosity on this forum.

My question is around disclosure and multiples of earnings. As 24 * monthly profit is taken as standard, surely with full disclosure of a PBN, we must expect this to go down commesurate with the risk. But to what level 10 * ? 5 * ?

All link building is deemed 'unnatural', so as discussed there is an inherent risk in all our IM activites.

However, if the multiple reduces to 5 * (which just feels right to me) the affiliate earnings would have to be >20k a month which seems a high (but not impossible) target.

And with full disclosure, I can't see any problem why Hekke should worry.

I'm sure Hekke will answer you but you can see on empire flippers theres plenty of sites with pbns being sold for 20-25x monthly earnings or was last time I looked. Personally wouldn't dream of paying 24x monthly for a site with a load of pbns but I assume people do.

O.k, well it that case it's "Caveat Emptor".

I was only basing my post on what I have seen on flippa.com when it comes to buyers asking questions about listings and possible domains.

Again, if there's full disclosure and people are willing to pay 24* earnings why should sellers feel bad?

Nice post. Totally agree. Everything in SEO is a risk. Just have to be as calculated as possible.

I've even seen listings on Empire Flippers for sites that disclose they use a PBN....then charge a monthly rental fee to keep the links in place. Not bad :)

Ah, the truth. So rare to read on bhw.

As for stats, I would be interested in an estimate of how much it costs to build and maintain a decent network. The calculated risk is whether you can make this back before the network falls apart.

If you have the time and knowledge to build your own, this is a great article to start out with

If you prefer to let someone else do the work, I use the guys in the banner in my signature.
I don't rent out links or anything to any other sites.

He don't wanna buy your shit!

I've seen multiple people talk about that service here in the forums. So I don't think that's his service. It's a service to look into if you want everything outsourced and done for you. And in his defense he did give a link to a thread that shows you how to do your own. He contributed first.

I see your point but the metaphore ugh..wouldn't pay 100k but ok :D

I mean, there's always going to be a risk. You can make them look as genuine as you're willing to - it's just that some people don't even bother.

The fact that you can still get penalized doesn't mean you just shouldn't give a shit.. that's poor practice!

Hello :D

I see your point but the metaphore ugh..wouldn't pay 100k but ok :D
It's a reasonable price to ask for a $5k/mo site though.

The question is whether or not the multiply get simnifically lower, or if it is close related to the white-hat site I sold at 23x.

Google does not care too much about PBNs. If they wanted they could penalize much more of them. I guess it is ok for them to see people using pbns to rank. Many big sites ranked with them or with similar shady techniques. I see many websites that are ranking for hundreds if not thousands of profitable keywords and getting hundreds of thousands of visitors every month ranking mainly with PBNs. If Google would really mind that I am sure they could check first xx thousand of websites for outgoing traffic. But it's ok with that.

I believe folks at Google are happy with the situation being the way it is. They just don't want the PBNs to become too widespread so every month they try to penalize a few of the SEOs that are just asking for it. With this they try to install fear into other SEOs. However in reality ranking with PBNs is not that dangerous. They don't mind a small SEO guy getting few thousand clicks every month with few PBNs. Surely it'd be better not to have that, but it's not really a big issue for them.
