I've been a newbie for a quick minute and finally dipping my feet into the forums. I've been an addict for 20+ years of my life, wasting away and hustling for money to be well and not have withdrawals. For those who have had or may have that problem, you know what I'm talking about. When I finally got clean for 7+ years now, I was told to find some activities to keep me occupied and find things you love to do. I love working with other addicts (going to rehab multiple times helped me with learning that). I become a drug and alcohol counselor and love it. That does not pay the bills, especially living on the Central Coast of California. I HUSTLED my ass off to get what I needed and figure I can do the same in this environment. The reason I bring my past up is that I worked hard as a homeless drug addict. I found ways to get money even if it got me put in jail or other unsavory places. As I search the forums, I immediately noticed my searches were just like most other newbies (e.g., I need help, how do you do, can I get...) As I pull up those search results, I'd notice no comments or just a few that would say, "Read the threads, read the journeys, and you don't need expensive courses; all you need are in the forums." I've found some good posts from good members that provide details of bits and pieces, and you put them all together, and you have what you need. For the newbies that have probably clicked away from my first thread because it was not what was expected, they may fail. I hope they don't, but the fact is if you are looking for a get rich quick thing, this is not. The successful people have put it the TIME, MONEY, and RESEARCH to get where they are now. This will not be handed to you! I was a successful addict for 20 plus years, so I know I can be successful at this, and with forums like this, I know I can succeed. This is a thank you to those who teach and provide support to us, newbies, for the newbies asking for a handout again, good luck.
