I'm at my wits end with this one. So I've opened up a file in EPS format and what I'm trying to achieve is the following:

1) Highlight text > 2) Select and Edit words and possibly change font.

Thing is, I've accidently done it, but can't remember how. What button did I press?

Make sure you have the text tool on the left selected. Then highlight your text with the cursor. Then you should be able to change font in the top bar. There should be a selection box where you can browse through the fonts on your system.

For some reason I cannot select. I click on the type tool then select the area of text I want to edit, (change wording) but it won't allow me to.

This is an eps file as well

I should add that I want to replace "add your text here" with my own text.

As I said, I did this completely by accident and it worked. But I cannot remember how

There may be another text layer over the top of the text you're trying to edit. You might have accidentally created it when you've been trying to click it. You really should be able to select the text you want to change. There must be a layer in the way.
