Taking down a website and using its content in new website.

One of my websites which I started one year ago never really settled at one position and has now disappeared from google. May be because one of the PBN which I used for backlinks has been deindexed. I am starting a new website in same niche. Can I trash my old website and use the content in new one. Any issues with this?

you have to put 301 if you are reusing the content. Sometimes the penalty might get passed for your new domain. So you have 50/50 chance.
 
Copy some content of your old website and use copyscape to use that.Check whats happening.
If they detects then do not use.
 
I would rather stay away from using the de-indexed contents on my authority site.
 
I've done that several times... you'll need to make sure that the content is deindexed of course for starters.

Set up the new site on a different IP, add the content slowly as if you were building a site and add in images that are different and named differently.

It is real important that you MANUALLY check to see that the content indexed... do not rely on copyscape or any of the other tools. Why? Because if for some reason they make a mistake you lose.

I've got nothing against copyscape or any of the other tools, they are solid and work effectively usually, but when I am doing this I get my hands dirty.
 
Just follow what BassTrackerBoats wrote. I`ve done this before. Just deindex old content, check manually if it`s deindexed and start adding it to the new website. In my case, the content is ranking without a problem.
 
As said by basstrackerboats, delete the old site and wait for all the links and content to get deindexed (can take around 2 weeks to a month) BUT first check that there are not copies online. (any articles that have been copied or gone through news feed etc do not use. The rest you can re-use once its been deindexed from your old site.

However it also depends on how important the new site is to you. If its going to be a big auth site (as in real auth and not auth based on you have 1000 crappy articles) then i would use fresh oroginal content only as some believe G still 'remembers' old deleted content (hidden index) and could cause some possible minor / unknown penalty in future.

There is no need to wait. You can deindex them immediately using Google webmaster tools URL removal tool.

Google will have the copy of your old site's contents though your site is de indexed. So if you copy the content and paste it in your new site Google will penalize your new site also. So you can delete your old website and put your old ucontent in your new site. Or if you don't want to delete the old site you can spun your content ant put it in the new site. But my opinion is better delete your old site and use the content...

I say start with fresh new content. The old content probably wont do you any good anyways.
 
I have never had any luck doing this. I de-indexed all of the content on WMT, the old domain and let it sit for about a week. All of it was de-indexed for sure. I put it on a new website and it never ranked. Be sure you follow Basstrackerboats advice and do it slowly. I can say from personal experience that posting it all quickly does not work. The only way I was able to recover was to 301 the old domain to the content, which eventually brought along the google slap that ruined the previous domain.
If I were to do it again, I would change up the content a bit before re posting it.
 
Yep, definitely recommend new content. Funny though, I was just wondering the same thing.
 
Why not rewrite the old content a bit? Every word has synonyms. Using old content which got deindexed its a game of chance. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt.
 
Thanks BTB, i was going to ask how to remove URL from google, until i saw the video you shared.
Somehow, am not getting direct answer from search.

I need to remove one of my site from google and reuse the content on my web20.
 
you can use the contents if they are not indexed, check with " " in G, you will get exact result
 
First remove the contents from your website, wait for a few days and use the content on the new website. Simple?
 
You can use it even when it is indexed, there is no duplicate content penalty, ranking is all about links and much less about content..
