I want to know should I buy an exact match domain with dot net or make a post with that keyword which will be more effective.

After that, I will make 1k+ first level do-follow backlinks to rank. I think Google will rank it better and quicker if it's an exact match domain but still I am confused will it work or not.

The difficulty of the keyword is not very much. it's a medium level keyword.

What is dominating the 1st page?

I find it difficult to rank the page type engines don't like to show for the query. (not imposible)
 
Rather than EMD Google wants to know what your site is really about.

If a site writes 100 posts on lingerie, it will be given weight for women undergarment kw over someone who expertises in hockey socks.

EMDs still work. But, you need strong content to dominate other competitors.

If you want to check whether the EMDs work or not, you should search for your main kw & see whether any domains with kw in their name are ranking. This is an indication that Google prefers domains specialized in that content. If most of the results are edu sites, then you'll have less chances to rank with .net domain as Google prefers academic sites.

most of them are dot com domains also exact match domains tend to rank really high on this search term that's why i am asking will my idea work

It's going to be a tool. So, I think naming it precisely as the user will try to search on google would be great. Because the only thing I require is to rank on google not to make some big brand.

Name or Brand name is not a big fact, You must add the value to your visitor, So think what domain name, will be perfect to grave the user Trust.
