Hey all,

At the beginning of this year I have uploaded the whole directory of my collection of WordPress themes and plugins to the download section of BlackHatWorld. The download section is an engaging section of the forum, but with the amount downloads, it feels like a chicken coop. I receive approximately 20 update requests per day from users of this forum and it's hard to pick them, as the majority of the plugins have been posted in the 'download section' and the themes in the 'templates section'.

This suggestion has been made a few months before by a few different members:

https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/w...oesnt-even-belong-to-me.1211015/post-12988793 @Pavan Teja 1

The requirements are:

All new sections on BHW require at least 50 recent, engaged threads on the topic, written by 25 different users.

These must have been posted in the last 3 months and must have more than 10 reasonable responses to an opening post of more than 250 words.

If you can gather these 50+ threads together and share them with mods or admin, we can look into creating the new sub-forum and if you're interested and knowledgeable in the sector we'd open up discussions with you about moderating it.

Based on the requirements above, you can check all the engagement threads in the download section:

I would like to make two suggestions:

  1. A dedicated sub-forum for WordPress themes in the download section.
  2. A dedicated sub-forum for WordPress items in the download section.
This makes it easier to me to update some items per day and for users it will be much better to navigate and search for their WordPress plugin or theme.
Also, I didn't make this suggestion to market my WordPress Vault - I have been contributing since 2017 with free WordPress items to BHW - and I'd like to make the above suggestions to post even more updates on a daily base.

Just my 2 cents.

Since I was one of the members that originally posted this, of course, I second this motion!

In fact, I think is looong overdue.

I just don´t understand how a WordPress subsection hasn´t been created here after all this time.

Something similar to this would be ideal...

A WordPress section with a Theme and Plugin subsection and, perhaps a few others for a discussion on WordPress-only related topics.

Or, as Fests propose...

Either way is fine with me.

Thoughts?

Apart from WordPress, I think courses too deserve a subsection. This will basically segregate newbies who want free themes/plugins or learn new things, from the experienced members or other niche marketers who look for scripts, scrapers, SAAS, cracks, landing pages, methods etc.

I believe driving targeted traffic to relevant subsections will improve engagement on threads, and also make BHW more newbie friendly. The senior members who want Wordpress items can check in relevant subsection whenever they need it. This will improve overall UX of the forum.

I also second this as well.

Opening a WordPress section as well as a course section will greatly "clean" all the stuff inside the Members Download section improving UX.

So basically, Festinger wants his own section :p

I like the idea of having a separate section for WP stuff and I would also love to see courses/ebooks/pdfs getting their own as well. But I suppose such a change would pretty much kill the Templates & Themes section, feels like 99% of new threads are wordpress-related in there.

Wordpress themes do belong in the themes and templates section so I agree it would probably make that subforum a ghost town and I think the themes should continue to go in there but I can see a subforum for Plugins though.

Also I like your idea as to courses and PDFs being separate too. I don't download any of that stuff for personal use but rather to make sure they are clean but I know a lot of folks here do and it would be easier for them and possibly increase engagement as well.

Yes, adding an extra 'plugins' section would also be good IMO.

If it leads to more updated plugins and themes, I´m all in to, because as it is now, "some" members upload stuff and don´t give a shit about providing updates to the plugins .. *wink, wink* .. =)

That´s all good, but what about the rest of the thousands of threads people asks for updates in, that are not updated .. ;)

My motto is, if you can not provide updates to members, don´t upload a plugin or theme, if your intentions are to update, but you cannot keep up with it, don´t upload.

I do not have time to go through 3400+ threads to see if there is a new update available. That's why I created a thread a while ago (couldn't find it now) to ask people to mention me in these threads, so I can get an alert.
Also, in the previous WP themes and plugins download threads, I used Mega.nz to ensure the download will not be removed, but due a DMCA notice and takedown, 2400 items have been removed then.
If you find a file sharing host that allows me to upload it permanently - it will be available for always to the BHW members. I am not going to invest a lot of money (and time) to keep track of every single download posted here.
So if users want an upgrade, you can tag me and if I have some free time, I'm happy to upload it.
