That's good news about your testing, I hope that keeps up for you when you say paid adds are you meaning you bought some adds on the same sites your competitors were on and have just started using all brand generic keywords?

It's just a testing and trial and error process now. I do think this will settle down at some point but when is the million $ question!

I think look at what is ranking where you used to, is it parasites? and if so replicate it ( worked for me with some niches) even if just a temp measure till this settles down a bit. I don't know, I'm up for everything and anything in the testing process!

In one of my niches where I no longer exist domain wise but I am back via a parasite its full of hacked sites, twub, youtube and someone with sites that just redirect to dating sites and then my parasite and we are talking for volumes of over 15k

What I don't get is why has google ranked sites like that in niches with high volume? I can honestly say I don't see that volume reflected in my stats but they are some decent keywords that were full of tube sites for as long back as I can remember. I don't have tube sites but I always know where they are ranking when I am researching for keywords and I know a lot of them are wiped out for certain words and parasites in its place so I think its time to feed google the nonsense it so desperately seems to crave.


It's so messed up it really is.

They have scraped this right back to the bare bones to start testing and at what point do they think to themselves they have scraped back too far now?

Jep, just checked 2 of my sites and this is happening.

My articles are gone from the serps and there are spam articles indexed with my content and somehow they redirect to adult offers.

This stuff is shady as f**k.

Yep I am seeing loads like this all redirecting to the same type of adult offers

Checked it, no duplicate results. Sad and happy.

Also weird:
Search console tells me most of my pages are not exist in my sitemap. But they exist - i double checked it!

So much confusion. I guess since the last weeks google has a internal data integrity problem. And the affected websites are fine, but sadly got an unwanted hit.

Same in my case - also these pages are marked as „indexed but not in Sitemap“ although they are...

Same here. All of them are "indexed but not in sitemap".

I was following this thread during some days.
I'm in France and I have exactly the same problems.
My site is clean, no black hat.
Massive drop of my keywords positions on 16th of december, from page 1 or 2 to nowhere.
Many pages deindexed but everything is ok in GSC, while testing in chrome private mode, sometimes my pages are there, sometimes they're not (I close the window between each test, I test with site:http://www.url.com)
Same test with my main keywords, in private mode, sometimes my website is there, sometimes not.
In GSC, message "indexed but not in sitemap" for many pages while they've been in my sitemaps for years.
It's a mess and I don't know what to do...

I checked another property that lost it's rankings a bit longer ago all of a sudden, I almost forgot about that one already.

However, for that site the same issue. 10 properties are indexed with my original content in the serps and I appear as the 5th. So it's suffering from a duplicate penalty it seems.

So far I have 3 sites that have this issue, and somehow those indexed properties managed to believe Google they are the original writer/owner of that content.

Something very shady is going on here.

EDIT: this 3rd property is not redirecting to an adult offer but it's redirecting to a site in the same niche (competitor most likely).

I am in France too, I have a similar problem like you.
2 of my websites got hit on the end of november and there are back now at the top positions for 2 weeks.
But 2 of my websites got hit recently ( close to 16 december ) and there are still in the abyss of Google.
I noticed also for the last 3 days, another of my website is nowhere on Google, it's like it's completely vanished ! I have checked also my GSC the past 3 days, nothing seems wrong but the fact is I can't find my website on Google anymore and there are no penalty, it's like all page of my site are deindexed.

That's what I thought, but the thing that really puzzles my mind is SERPROBOT is still showing no change in the ranking (top pages rank as they were before Jan 7th check them every 12 hours) it's just the impressions and clicks aren't there. Anyway, to be on the safe side I have removed all web 2.0 links posted not long ago. Resubmitted to crawling and waiting to see what will happen.
 
Just to add to my previous post, if it's an indexing issue (I hope it is) it affects a really small number of people because besides this forum no one is talking about. Just an FYI, my website wasn't hit by the Dec 2019 and before updates, in fact, I saw an increase in traffic. It just the Jan 7th, 2020 messed everything up.
 
recently I also noticed adsense earnings drop , compare the traffic
past week for an example like 600 views at least got few cents.
now also got 600 views but is lower

not sure what happen
 
I've seen EXACTLY the same, but it happened in 2 parts :

Part 1 : 17th of December - niches : mobile operators, dating and web hosting.
3 of my websites, totally different niches, quite clean LB strategy, dropped from Page1 to Page7++, they are not even on the same webhosting. Only thing they had in commun was they were in .info.

Part 2 : 11th of December
A brand new, ULTRA CLEAN website, that was 3.5months old terribly dropped. It was going up, up, up and suddenly, all the requests that managed to reach Page 1 dropped over page 100. Everything is ultra clean on this website : good unique super high quality content (written for the visitors to REALLY answer their questions), good clean natural internal linking, legal notices, real author with link to her LinkedIn, good speed performance,...

The only thing is that it had 0 backlink as we don't do any backlink before the 6th month. I don't think not doing any BL can get you penalized, that would be totally nonsense.

Some people have told me that it might be a EAT/YMYL penalty, just because I'm missing on the "A" Authority section... My niche for this site is health/weightloss related...

It's just so frustrating, everything has been done so carefully on this site, no black hat strategy at all...

Edit : these are NOT expired domains, all created from scratch.

Not sure about you guys, but Google.DE is going crazy right now for my websites and keywords. One website was ranked for multiple terms in different niches and disappeared from the serps (still indexed tho). Then some of my new money sites started to appear straight in the top 10 for some medium-high competition keywords.

Looks like Google has some crawling issues or someone messed up the algorithm. Maybe someone really pulled a plug and things went to shit. Its just a very strange behaviour I never saw in the serps.

The only thing keeping me optimistic is the thought that all this things CAN'T stay like this and things will go back to normal any time soon in this month. I mean, its not only a bad things for us webmasters, but also for the normal people using their search engine for specific terms. The are so many spammy and worthless pages ranking right now.
