Sudden Ranked Drop? Google Algo Update?

On Sep 13th update we lost a lot of rankings again we fixed them back and our rankings are stable until Dec 22nd update, now we lost all the ranking again. Slowly one by one keyword losing rankings. Not sure what's really happening. waiting for the next update which is usually a new year update. Let's hope for the best!

Anyone getting the same kind of issue like us?

I guess there will be a big update very soon. Maybe within this week or next week. There is no way the situation will stay like this. Right now the serps are a huge mess. What makes me wonder is how some of the main keywords in my multi niche sites have been sent to #50 and others just stay #1. Thats not a classic penalty, where the whole site gets deindexed or punished.
 
I have 7 websites and one of my main sites gone in google result but apparently I noticed google has an active update this year I plan to create a backup site in case my main site will disappear. And yes things happen and my backup site still on the first page.

Here's my website link building info:

1. Main site - I used PBN and 301 redirect (expired domain) with a disvowed record list in google.Consistent monthly link building both PBN, one 301 redirect and guest posting.
2. Backup site - I used PBN only never make a backlink for the past 3 months.

What my opinion here is, there is no issue about the blackhat/whitehat link building process because one of my competitors still in the top rank and that site using the blackhat process and not relevant keyword 301 redirects. I think they are doing some A/b test because some parasite and cloaking site is on the top-notch.


Google Ads is now trending today, nice one google.

Ya even I felt the same, or google has rolled out a buggy update by mistake. If this is an issue with the update they gonna fix it after new year. Waiting for new year update.

Exactly, but who can say what these guys are up to? 2019 was full of updates. Sometimes they made updates just to reverse them a few months/weeks later. I mean...who is in charge there? It seems like they keep testing things. I would really like to understand the bigger picture. Why doing this? What are they up to? Why wouldn't they work on optimizing their algorithm instead of coming up with new things all the time and literally fuck up the serps?

I noticed they started releasing more updates ever since they turned on rankbrain

Our frustration doesn't change anything. Still, I seeing fluctuations in rankings but not too huge.
 
It seems that it was another update late yesterday. Not on my websites, but for keywords I usually search daily. One website was first for years, now it moved to 5 and the first results aren't what I'm looking.

From the look of things here, members are spiting out what they use for ranking.
A quick search on if expired domain should be used as money site. Lots of thread suggest new one. Here, almost everyone was ranking with it before the update.
For 301, I stay away from it. A lot used it.
This kind of update is good in some cases for confession. LOL

Hello! I have such a scenario on the chart as you have! I also noticed that when before the fall of my site there were 77 keywords in the ranking and more than 60 of them were relevant. To date, my site is ranked by 28 keywords, and of these, only 14 keywords are relevant. Welcome BERT)
 
Don't worry, don't panic if you've got done everything good.
Created backlinks in right places.
If you didn't, then you've got to form sure you ought to rework your website and backlink strategy.

It seems I am the only one lucky for google update my website traffic increase but the problem the bounce rate is also increase based on analytics.
 
Just an quick update: one of my site got rankings back. Most of keywords disappeared now back to previous positions. Hope everything will be fine for all :)

Well I hope they hurry up with fixing/changing the rankings back as this is horrible for me at the moment.

Two sites got hit ranking wise and they are still all over the place for over a week now.

Here is an example (USA niche) of one article's ranking:

I still see similar stuff on all other articles as well.

I also have a German site that is not "hit" but it lost almost all of it's traffic in 1,5 week time:

The weird part is that it still has it's usual rankings but all Featured Snippets are gone in this niche for every site (I ranked of a lot of them). I have another site in the Netherlands in this niche and there I see the same. All Featured Snippets in the USA in this niche are still there, so they are surely up to something.
