Success! I Got My First Call Back

Take this to heart.

Agreed with the part about bad clients! I recently started my web development business and I had a client who acted like a jerk over the phone. I could tell that he was going to be a pain and I just let him go. Sometimes money isn't worth the pain of someone breathing down your throat.

Your on the money there being involved with call centers there are a lot of rogues on both sides of the fence so if it doesn't feel right always worth walking away. Also getting people to see value in things straight away is difficult. My biggest issue is people trying to get me to do "home based" pricing for a call center with dedicated servers and an electric bill that costs more than they pay their usual agents.

I'm working on my next batch of letters, I'll let you guys know when I send them out.

Our approach is different.

we rank #1 position for "city seo", "city seo services", "city seo companies", "seo city". Another site for "city webdesign", web design city", etc. This one is not on first position for all the keywords, but soon. (already on first page)

We receive calls every week and close 1 to 2 clients a month, add webdesign, redesign, feeder minisites and hosting.

What we found that works well is to split the cost of the new site + hosting in to seo monthly, signed contract for 1 year. In this way, we can project a cash flow.

So, no cold calling, no letters, no business network, no nothing.

Also, those clients has referred us to other clients.

The only thing we did besides ranking our sites is to find couple of developers that do not do seo and offer them 25% commission for life and we got business through them as well. (this is why we separate the seo of the webdesign)

I would seek out that company's competition and contact them about what you have to offer. After you have some good results with the companies, perhaps you can swing it in front of that jackass and mention how it valued his competition and, even better, made the competition have a better online presence.

That's a great idea, but their competitors are Domino's and Pizza Hut.
